It be like that
I live in northern Utah. I’m not a religious man, but if I was going to join a church, it would be LDS. These missionaries and the people in general are so god damn nice.
People have shown me more random acts of kindness up here than anywhere else, and I’ve lived in 12 different states.
But it is true that suicide rate among Mormon teens has risen over the last 3 years at a higher rate than their non-Mormon counterparts.
@VibratingButtChomper, my scout leader is the nicest person you will ever meet, he’s like at bob Ross levels of nice and he is lds
@VibratingButtChomper, I also live in Utah and I feel you. Some of my best buddies are Mormon and super nice, but I know a few of them that are in a bad place...
@VibratingButtChomper, they're being nice because they want to recruit you. The church always wants more tith payers. If you wanna join a hate cult where premium membership is 10% of your income for life, Mormonism may be right for you.
@VibratingButtChomper, I have a friend who escaped from a Mormon family. It's not a good religion. The reason they're all so nice is because they're constantly being threatened that they'll go to hell if they very slightly deviate from the norm. They spend a long time breaking people down so they can reconstruct them as perfect Mormons. They tithe people heavily. Trust me, there's much better religions.
@Rtas Vadum, former Mormon here. I actually left about 10 years back. While I don’t specifically disagree with the things you said, I might argue scale and comparisons. I never felt threatened. Thats just my experience. I tried to be nice because I saw how it built a community of support. I tried to be nice because I liked the idea that people would default to thinking I was trustworthy and worth being friends with. Yeah, “bringing people to the church” was part of it to but not the whole part. And every füçking church wants your money. The LDS do a lot of service so... I don’t mind so much if my money goes to them. I left the church because when I was in a bad spot and prayed... I got no answer. Silence. I was in it for the religion and if god wasn’t there, why was I. Again, just my experience. I still think the organization does more good than harm and is one of the better ones. These days I share Science as a physics teacher because, like mormons, I like sharing what I see as truth.
@Canis Arktos, I just feel a bit more confident about the science these days.
Meh. Don't use a fvcked up set of events like that to push your agenda. People have no shame these days.
@Mhael, I mean, it's true...
@Mhael, you mean like how the Mormon church and their cronies spend money to corrupt the state government to push their agenda? The fvck outta here with your bullshjt
@The 911 Masturbator, nope. I'm okay with addressing that issue because it IS related.
But you shouldn't bring a completely different issue out of the blue and forcibly compare and contrast to another issue in order to push an agenda.
My point is, you're right the separation of church and state is completely fvcked right now and needs to be addressed, but wtf does that have to do with weed legalization? Someone is literally using child molestation in the church in order to push their weed legalization agenda. I'm for that agenda btw, but it's just not appropriate or even relevant to mention it with the church thing.
"Hey, these guys raped kids, but weed didn't so..."
^ that is literally this meme.
@Doctor Krieger, yeah, absolutely true. And also totally irrelevant.
I'll put a picture of literally anything in the left panel, and it'll be true. Doesn't mean that it's okay, they're literally using someone's trauma in order to push their agenda.
@Mhael, do you even know one god dam thing about prop 2 or the mormon church?
@The 911 Masturbator, don't try to redirect away from the fact that you're literally using other people's trauma to push your agenda. Own up to your sh1tty decisions.
You're not battling LDS in favor of prop 2 by doing and pushing sh1t like this. You're literally just using other people's trauma in order to push for something you want. You want to fight the church and all the horrid things they've done to people over the years? Okay go ahead. But don't just fvcking bring those people into your fight just because the church is against you on your agenda. Shameless.
@Mhael, my own agenda? What agenda is that? Exposing facts to Mormons and misinformed stuckpixel users like you?
How many people have you lost to suicide? How many people do you care about have told you their stories IN TEARS of the abuse and torment they underwent by Mormons? How many mothers and fathers do you know grieving over the suicide of their gay sons? That's right. You don't know djck. You don't know that it's the Mormon cult and their hateful anti LGBT rhetoric that pushes these young people to kill themselves. And the churches response: double down on the anti gay rhetoric and tell the gays to pray harder.
And now the same hate cult, which btw tried to meddle in the government of California a while back when they were about to vote on equal marriage rights, is pulling out ALL the stops to try to stop Prop 2 from passing. Probably has nothing to do with their billion dollar investment in Big Pharma, huh?
@Mhael, the Mormon church is the most EVIL institution on earth. And now they're trying to meddle in the state government of Utah and prevent Prop 2 from passing under the guise of it being a "public health issue". Bjtch please. The government of Utah thinks porn is a public health issue. Their opposition to cannabis has nothing to do with public health and safety and has everything to do with money and control. I hope you live in Utah because I can't wait to russle your statist jimmies even more in November when it passes.
And oh hey, how many cancer patients do you know in Utah who are desperate for cannabis to be medically legal? Let me guess. Zero.
@The 911 Masturbator, you're literally the most disgusting person I've ever argued with.
You want to fight the Mormon church on prop 2? GO A FVCKING HEAD, you want to fight them on their horrible deeds? GO A FCKING HEAD.
BUT DONT BRING IN THOSE VICTIMS AND REMIND THEM OF THEIR PAINS OVER YOUR FIGHTS WITH THE MORMON CHURCH ON A DIFFERENT TOPIC.
Your argument is "Hey, they've done some horrible things to these people, and hey they're fighting me on this topic because they're corrupt. Why don't I bring in their victims in order to push my talking points on the topic we're fighting over."
^ this is you. You're bringing in victims of tragic events just to use them in your own unrelated political fight against the church.
I won't be responding to you anymore. You honestly disgust me, the way you use those victims and the way you word your argument in order to provoke sympathy for an unrelated discussion.
@The 911 Masturbator, you've clearly not even read what I wrote earlier when I said I supported the fight you're fighting for. Just not the way you're doing it.
@Mhael, good. Get the fvck off my thread sack of shjt. And refrain from commenting on future posts of mine you snowflake
As a wise man once said.
"Who could believe such ridiculous idea?"
"My mommy does, so shut the fvck up!"
Wow, a whole building made of marijuana
So I have seen a few memes about this church, I'm guessing. I seem to be a little behind. Can anyone explain what's going on?
@Im Mom, search prop 2 Utah for more info but pretty much Utah is mostly LDS and a big chunk of the LDS church is against legalizing marijuana in any way. I’m not even speculating if it’s even more or less than half but it’s a big chunk. These memes are showing everything they don’t like about the church to say that marijuana should be legal... it’s a curious strategy. The grievances May be valid, marijuana may be a solid option, but the points their trying to make are a bit shaky. Research prop 2 if your interested. Skip all these memes entirely if you’re not. There is not a lot of funny here either way.
@Canis Arktos, oh ok thanks!
