Ok looks let’s be serious, they are dangerous, never underestimate their actual power to be deadly, but they are small so you can fight it off, but got damn are toddlers annoying as shït and the law will prosecute you really hard if hurt a kid, but the puppy can be raised super properly and be your light in the darkness
@DrSin, All puppers can be the best puppers.
@DrSin, I rank dogs by their difficulty to train. Pitbulls are "A" difficulty dogs and too often they are owned by D level trainers.
They're the Charizards of the dog world.
@DrSin, fair statement, I like that!
@PoliticalOtters, I think you underestimate their trainability. If there is an S class difficulty I would put them at B.
@ThePandaPool , All dogs are able to be trained. What I'm trying to say is that there are some dogs who you have to keep on top of their whole lives. I have a sproker spaniel and I could do walk training once a week and he'd obey my commands. Pitbulls you have to dominate them daily and remind them of the rules and such.
@PoliticalOtters, ever tried training a Dalmatian? Or a Akida
@PoliticalOtters, due you are WAYYY off on that assessment. Most of the bully breeds do not need that kind of upkeep with their training. Things like spaniels and hounds and such absolutely need that, but not pits or rotties or for the most part mastiffs. The only one that you might need to ride heavily would be a boxer, but that's more because of ADD than disobedience, lol.
@DrSin, its frustrating because they arent dumb. Just defiant.
@ThePandaPool , exactly, plus if you treat any dog well they become a custom to a life style, if you have anger issues or constantly upset your dog will become the same way but people will deny they did anything wrong, all 8 of my dogs since growing up have been super chill and always happy, I try to never show em my anger because they will feed off that, living in a tornado state they are rare but, high winds have knocked down my fence, 4 of my past dogs have run out, never bit anyone, usually they get brought back or I get call from a neighbor saying they have my pup, they have access to indoor outdoor when ever
@DrSin, no and I know those guys are difficult too. I would consider them A level also.
@ThePandaPool , Pitbulls are the most likely to attack humans (that may just be a prevalence thing). They also certainly attack other dogs more. Again. This is all not to say that they can't be trained well by A level owners on their stuff. There just aren't as many A level owners as there are A level dogs.
By the way, I'd also consider some chihuahuas to be A level dogs because of their neurosis.
@PoliticalOtters, for generations they where nanny dogs, they where breed to protect humans from humans, if you install that into an animal for centuries for generations it’s gonna stick as guard dog for years to come , scientifically speaking we re wrote the way their brain works to protect you and harm anyone that you see as a threat
@DrSin, Doesn't that kind of prove my point?
@PoliticalOtters, I got lost I’m arguing with a dummy down below so I may have skipped you or just forgot what was going on my fault, but I have no clue what’s going on now so let’s just say we both are right ? Plus 1 point to us both
@PoliticalOtters, it is more than just a prevalence thing unfortunately. Too many people want to have that "badass" pit bull, and worse, dogfighting. Also the guard dog thing is kinda difficult to argue either way. People who would do the junkyard dog thing is essentially driving the animal to be more or less feral, while dogs that where to protect an individual is very well trained, but I digress. The main point I was trying to make was less general. You were saying how you need to constantly put dogs like pits in their place to keep their training, and that's not true. They take to training well, and they retain it well. While they are 6 months to about a year and a half, you need to be tough on them unfortunately, but at that point what you built sticks.
@PoliticalOtters, by what metric? How would that data be fairly collected? If it's based on reported attacks, the data is skewed.
@crazylampshademan, how would we measure any other way than reported attacks and how does that skew?
@DrSin, I know some Judo, I grapple played with a staffordshire bull terrier pit bull mix. Would often get my arm in its mouth before I would flip him or knock him over. But he was very well mannered and if anyone said his name and calm he would stop and sit. Good boy
@PoliticalOtters, because pits are targeted in a way that other breeds aren't. Any pit that so much as looks at someone wrong is reported, where as any other breed can get away with a whole lot more and not be reported. You would never be able to get an accurate count of all actual dog bites
@crazylampshademan, do you have proof of this? It seems that it would be pretty hard to fake a dog bite or a death by dog attack (both of which pitbulls top the list).
It would be hard to get a perfect of all dog bites, but you'd have to proves why those bites/attacks/deaths not recorded don't follow the trend of the studies.
@PoliticalOtters, proof that stat gathering is flawed? Ask any statistician about that.
As for proving why dogs bite; also impossible. I have my own hypothesi, but that doesn't really matter, because they are not provable by the sheer scale of numbers. There is no one reason that explains any animals' behavior, including our own. I was bitten by an anxious collie, owned by people who did not have enough discipline themselves. My brother was bitten by a well trained Scottish terrier because he was screwing with it. My mom was bitten by her own husky because the dog is senile. I do think that there are a whole lot of people out there with pets, that shouldn't have pets. I was bitten by an anxious collie, owned by people who did not have enough discipline themselves. I think that all dog bites happen because of human behavior, one way or another.
That's really all I have to say. I feel that my views are relatively logical, and I see the logic in what you're saying.
@PoliticalOtters, I only really meant to point out that reported statistics are unreliable in this case, because of bias.
This is toxic. Even in irony I don't think it's fair to joke about pitbulls being aggressive or whatever the stigma around them is. As with ANY DOMESTIC ANIMAL, if you treat it right, with love and care, your pet will be an angel. Can't say the same about kids...
I’m sure he had a good reason
Na, lack of vaccines already killed it!
If I had to choose between a toddler and this pitbull being hurled into the sun, the human population would be one less
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, I'd gladly hurl a pitbull into the sun instead of a child. You people forget you were annoying children once. Dog, cat, a bat I dont care I would gladly kill a dog to protect my daughter
@tmo0792, uuuhhhh you definitely took the joke really hard in your ass. It's a joke because all dogs, even pitbulls are gentle beasts if raised right where most toddlers are, as you stated, annoying. Would I throw either I to the sun? No. It's a fvcking joke. I bet you're real fun at parties
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, he took that joke like your nephew took that dick, way to hard and way to personal
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, no I didnt but I've been bitten my 3 dogs all pitbulls. They CAN be gentle the ones that bit me were "nice dogs" I was a mailman. Statistically 65% of all dog attacks come from pitbulls. I'm also tired of people treating animals the same as humans. I love animals but they are not and will never be humans.
@tmo0792, Dude you need to find a new form of entertainment. What part of "joke" do you not get? Maybe those dogs sensed your inability to find humor in anything and we're trying to do us a favor
@tmo0792, yeah animals are way better than human filth, with all the terrorist attacks , the genocide, school shootings, nursing innocent people, the airplane high jacking, war crimes, the nuking yeah, we are far better than animals
@DrSin, yeah that's the most asinine comment I've seen. People that do those things combine in the entire existence of the human race make up like .00000000000008% of the entirety of humanity. You cant even compare dogs to humans they are wild creatures that WE have domesticated.
@tmo0792, ha ha ha ha ha oh my god you are too funny, please domestic your mind aside from judging what poor choices you have made in understanding an animal, I can no longer argue because this isn’t one, this is you pushing your own opinion on a subject you clearly have no real information on, do you know how vicious a chihuahua really is? If you respond with anything than a real statistic you have been lied to. And 3 dogs bite you that’s like .0000000000000000000003% of the dog population, oh no 3 bad dogs in the world oh the humanity.... jeez, original comment was a joke not a dick don’t take it so hard
@DrSin, I'm too funny? You're the ignorant one you do realize there are roughly 85 million dogs in the United states and on average there are 6 million dog bites each year. You probably need to go back to school so you can learn basic math. https://www.google.com/amp/s/dogbitelaw.com/dog-bite-statistics/all-dog-bite-statistics/amp
@tmo0792, the data you are citing is compiled by a dog bite lawyer. That's the definition of skewed data
@crazylampshademan, lol okay buddy heres similar updated data from the American veterinary medical association https://www.avma.org/news/javmanews/pages/171115a.aspx
@tmo0792, we'll the AVMA is funded by, you guessed it, GWYNETH PALTROW! That's right; known breast milk cheese kingpin, PETA supporter, and personal liaison to Hitler's ghost, Gwyneth Paltrow. Check mate, friendo.
@crazylampshademan, yeah because I'm sure she personally does all the data research and collecting. I guess you're going to stop watching all star wars, Disney, and marvel movies because walt disney wanted Jews to die and the current and former executives being caught in sex scandals.
@tmo0792, bruh. Idk how you coupd read that and think it's a serious reply
@crazylampshademan, I dont give a damn man in just tired of how humans treat each other. I want people to start treating each other with respect and help each other out. It's now a felony to abuse an animal in the state of VA, but okay to abort a child. One that's being born. If you dont think something is wrong with that than you've got a sickened mind.
@tmo0792, sir, you've planted a weird soapbox in a strange place
@crazylampshademan, lol okay buddy
@DrSin, man. I was having a normal (somewhere between arguement and conversation) up top, while you had a bonified nutjob down here. No fair.
@ThePandaPool , ha ha ha this dude when on a fücking tangent on a hard left
