@CrazyRightWinger, I’m laughing at the part where he said enormous amounts of regular light lol, although true that UV light works on surfaces, it would be extraordinarily difficult if not impossible to eradicate it from the human body by exposing it to UV. The research I believe you’re seeing is a private company that has shown some success in human cells. We’re technically researching a lot of stuff (not the government but private companies) but most of it won’t work. That being said if the cure all turns out to be blasting humans with dangerous levels of UV light, I’ll eat my words. Once again though I’m laughing at regular light and literally injecting bleach haha

@Blasphemy is Fun, both the disinfectant and light that he mentioned are real treatment techniques for coronavirus and other illnesses such as Malaria, also you don't just blast people with dangerous amounts of UV light, a UV light emitting device is surgically inserted down the trachea and into the lungs in order to kill coronavirus cells since UV light has been proven to kill coronavirus. Things like the "Trump said drink bleach" is just a misinformation campaign to make Trump look bad, so it becomes a meme and people ignore any good that he did, hell there was even a case of a mentally ill man and his mentally ill wife consuming bleach and getting sick and somehow it was spun to mean that it was Trump's fault.
-
@ Seductive Cheeto, Trump said injecting disinfectant into the body... which we are not doing as it would harm the body. I agree that only idiots or the mentally ill would try to inject disinfectant or drink bleach, unfortunately as proven by the tide pod incident, we have quite a few of the former in our country. I never said that he said to drink it and wasn’t spreading misinformation. However it definitely isn’t a real treatment to inject disinfectant into the body so idk what you’re talking about. Also as I stated I was laughing at Trump clearly not knowing what the hell he was talking about and saying we could shine massive amounts of regular light on the skin outside the body. It was funny because Trump is very unintelligent, it’s less funny as he’s our president for the time being. At least history will show that he was legally impeached twice.
-
@ Seductive Cheeto, as to the UV treatments, I’m aware that we are studying the viability of the treatments however I highly doubt we will find them to be completely effective against corona virus. As I’ve said if it does turn out to be the cure, or a cure, then I’ll be shocked and admit I was wrong. Feel free to ping me when that happens.

@Blasphemy is Fun, that's not true, he never said to inject disinfectant, look at the transcripts of the speech, not the opinion articles, he never at a single point did he say that people should inject disinfectant. He asked if the use of UV or disinfectant could be used, like injecting it, just speaking off the cuff, but to say that he said to do so is an outright lie my guy. This is not me going against you, this is me telling you what you're saying is verifiably untrue friend, please look at the speech. Call him unscientific, obviously he has no idea what he is talking about, but it is untrue that he ever said to inject anyone with any kind of disinfectant. Also the use of UV light to treat lung infections is really old technology, like early 1900s old my dude...
-
@ Seductive Cheeto, I don’t need to look at transcripts and neither do you. As you said he talked about looking into injecting disinfectant (which I mean c’mon it’s stupid to say even off the cuff but especially as a president in an address) Here is a link to him saying it, https://youtu.be/33QdTOyXz3w for anybody interested. I never said that he told people to inject it. I did not say anything verifiably untrue, you’re just making claims that I said things that I didn’t say.
-
@Blasphemy is Fun, here is the full context of the injection comment: "A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right?"
-
@Blasphemy is Fun, "And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful."
-
@Blasphemy is Fun, the words disinfectant and injection are not even used in the same sentence, at no point did he say to inject disinfectant, claim it, or anything of the sort. Plus his claims of using UV light are true science that is almost a century old. Also you did say that "Trump said injecting disinfectant into the body... which we are not doing as it would harm the body." That is verifiably untrue, a fabrication, idk what you're talking about... You know I can just scroll up and see your comment dude. Also why would you not need to look at the transcripts? They are a primary source of evidence to what he actually said.
-
@ Seductive Cheeto, I wouldn’t need to look because I watched him say it. I didn’t say you couldn’t look but it is more clear what he is saying when you watch it. Idk how you’re misinterpreting what he is saying but in English you don’t start a sentence with “and”, it was in the same sentence an he was saying to inject disinfectant. What do you think he was saying to inject? Watch the video he is saying we do something with disinfectant... like injecting it into the body. I’m gonna end my part in this conversation here because I don’t want to go in circles. It’s very obvious he’s saying to look into injecting disinfectant into the body. If you watch the video I linked you to and disagree... well that’s your prerogative.
-
@Blasphemy is Fun, No he wasn't, and he did not say that at all. He said disinfectants work, and maybe there could be something that could work like a disinfectant through an injection or inner cleaning, I literally quoted him verbatim. Just scroll up and look at what exactly he said, do you really think he meant injecting disinfectant into the body?
-
@ Seductive Cheeto, you had a terrible time in upper high school English classes and critical thinking classes didn't you. Or are you a low level lawyer trying to adhere to the exact wording and denying the obvious take away even though the jury can all see that you're a moron. From your own posts. "that's not true. He never said to inject disinfectant..." "And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside..." So, while he doesn't explicitly say "everyone should inject bleach" he is talking about literally injecting disinfectant into human bodies. It is functionally the same. Only a complete moron who wants to be laughed at would say something like that. Or a young kid. Someone who understands nothing about any part of the subject. Does Trump know that fire and strong acids also kill all viruses along with UV rays and disinfectant? Unfortunately they would also kill the host (the person).
-
@mas2de, No he isn't saying that, he's saying that an injection or inner cleaning that could have the effect of a disinfectant meaning killing bacteria and viruses would be useful, you know this, it's why you didn't even post the entire sentence for context. Also you preface your "argument" and end it with insults to stroke your little ego into making that pitiful mental jump you made to fit your bias, also you're conflating fire and strong acids to misrepresent what he said even more. I could go on and on about how wrong you are, but it's clear you know that already.
-
@LookOutASni, I have no doubt that it was a treatment back then (although to be fair I didn’t know it dated that far back) I’m just mostly laughing at how one of his suggestions was a large amount of normal light shined on the skin when he was spitballing. I also don’t see UV light being effective enough against Covid with our current level of tech. As I’ve said though it could become a cure in the future, if it does I’ll be super surprised lol but I can admit I’m wrong if it happens.
-
@Blasphemy is Fun, That's still not what he said lol. He was talking about internal tracheal UV light treatments, and even admitted it was something the doctors talked about and were looking into. I work in a hospital. UV light is highly effective against most viruses. It's killed by simple sunlight in minutes. As a matter of fact, a common method for disinfecting (and maintaining the sterility of) operating rooms is UV light baths by a device placed in the center of the room that splashes the entire OR with UV light. Using internal UV radiation therapy is not as wild as it sounds, but Trump said it, therefore it must be stupid, right?
-
@LookOutASni, I don’t know why you’re focusing on that part when the part I was laughing at was him saying “Supposing we hit the body, with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light” he is clearly talking about literally shining a bunch of regular light on the skin and in fact goes on to say “Supposing you brought light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way.” Those are direct quotes. UV light is almost certainly not going to wipe out the virus once it’s in your body. As I’ve said like 3 times now, if that does become a cure then I’ll eat my words, feel free to @ me at that time. Also I don’t know what you do in that hospital but if you were a doctor I highly doubt you would believe UV lights are the best option to cure covid lol. Also it’s not stupid just because Trump said it, it’s stupid because it’s stupid... but yeah the stuff he says is stupid since he’s an idiot... Alright I’mma stop replying to this entire thread.

@Blasphemy is Fun, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4783265/ Plug this into google and have a read. It's a thing. When dealing with a deadly virus we haven't really had to deal with before, you have to get creative. I understand Trump says things that aren't smart and there's plenty to criticise him for, but this just ain't it chief.
Are those meant to be greater than signs or arrows? The answer will affect whether I agree with this or not
