@sethapus, honestly I wish I could forget him, I along with many others who have been here long enough to see Jamal's "reign" will tell you that he was annoying. A troll. "I'm at the store" was worse than people saying "first". And back then we couldn't downvote, the up/down vote system wasn't installed yet so it was truly a 'first come first serve' for comments; and Jamal was always first. ALWAYS FIRST. For a solid set of about 100-200 pics, Jamal was always at the store. And this was when we had about 4-8 pics a day. I don't know how Jamal became popular, he was, and will always be a TROLL

@bronze512, I was here too and it was very annoying at the time but when he just stopped commenting it really made me miss him and I didn't know why

@bronze512, I was there too, on a device now long forgotten, the second generation iPod touch everyone and their mother got that Christmas. He became popular because a photo showing a bar graph of where Jamal spends his time was posted. Until then, there really was no self awareness of the community but as soon as that pic was posted, everyone had something they could relate to, an inside joke almost, in which a comment was referenced in a pic and the people of the community and only these people could relate to. Someone probably knows the pic id. I've been actively looking at funny pics since those days, but few here still stuck around. People leave, you feel as if they'll be here forever, but it's almost a full time job getting top comment all the time and being legendary.

@George Feeny, I honestly know he was the original FunnyPics troll, the way i see it, he's gone now, and we can't undo what he's caused. I believe we can think whatever we want of him now because of this, just as we did with Plants. We as a community were very bi-polar when it came to Plants, some pictures he was upvoted, others downvoted, but in the end, if he was gonna get the attention for it to begin with, so be it. It's not like you or i, the unknown commenters, hell, even the more popular ones like I shjt you not, can do anything about us giving him positive or negative attention. So i think we should just let the community believe what it wants to, and since Jamal is gone, if you wanna hate him or i wanna not give two shjts and go either way, so be it! Thanks for your time.
