I sincerely doubt the validity of number 2... However, number 3 is all too true :(
@RMB, actually, some people did a study about drinking alcohol, and they found that people who drink alcohol (even alcoholics) on average live longer! The more you know!
@atreides, uh. No. Its called liver damage and disease not to mention the increased chance of doing stupid ass things while drunk and killing yourself. Dont spread that shjt.
@meowarina, actually I heard that people who drink alcohol moderately every day (around 2 beers a day) on average tend to live longer.
@Brave Sir Robin, he said "even alcoholics". And usually that refers to wine only. But no matter what, long term drinking is harmful to your body. And I personally believe even 2 beers a day, every day as it seems youre refering to, is alcoholism.
@meowarina, firstly, alcoholism in no way refers to wine only, and I don't know where you're getting that idea from. And I'm not saying that being an alcoholic is a good thing, trust me, my uncle was an alcoholic till he died. What I said was there was a study about drinking alcohol and living longer. And well, wouldja look at that, here's an article on that study: http://m.huffpost.c om/uk/entry/4424174
@atreides, um I never said it only refered to wine. You might want to reread before you make such alligations. I was telling Brave Sir Robin that usually the alcohol they say is safe in modaration is wine.
@atreides, and well would you look at that, I can write am article on the study of unicorn poop but that doesnt make it real or true.
@meowarina, so maybe before you start trying to refute everyone because of what you think is right, look into it first.
@atreides or maybe before you start spreading things and making people think its okay to drink all the time, you should do more research than one article
@RMB, I wish I didn't understand how true this is.
You guys. I'm staying the night in the hospital with my Grandpa. They're not sure what's wrong with him. He came in for a sharp pain in his groin area that rendered him unable to walk from the pain, but now he's completely bonkers. He keeps telling me to undo his restraints and follow my buddy out, then he'll get us out in his truck, and having war flashbacks. I was told to go along with them, but he's fading in and out of awareness, so I'm struggling to respond to the right remark fast enough to confuse him further, and it's 3:15am. I've slept about three hours in the past two days and am a little wonky/hyperactive myself, and have no friends that stay up this late. Mind conversing with me if you're up?
@farfromahero, It's about 4:30 here but if you're still awake I'll stay up
@farfromahero, My prayers are with you friend, if you ever need to talk just call upon your favorite dog and I'll be there :)
@farfromahero, the "war flashbacks" part was slightly funny, I'm not gonna lie. But, take it from me, someone who had to study the human anatomy, that groin pain is usually just from pulling /tearing a muscle due to over exhertion, or perhaps a hard fall. So hopefully it is just merely something that will heal with bed rest. I know how slow hospitals can be, so the wait can make a somewhat small situation way more significant. I hope I was right & it wasn't something more serious. Let me know how things went
@farfromahero, do you like chicken?
@farfromahero, tbh dude, sounds like a renal infection. It is common in old men with a inflammated prostate, his pee is most likely backing up into his bladder and causing an infection. The infection would cause great pain and render him unable to walk, the infection could also cause some psychosis because of the heavy amount of pain. My suggestion would be to be there for him and just be his friend, the condition is not 100% deadly but it arises many complications. He should have a catheter inserted and started on low-grade antibiotics.
@farfromahero, hey man sorry bout your father I hope he gets better
@farfromahero, hope your grandpa gets better, I'm really sorry, I hope you were able to get some sleep since then
@Metzger, please stop offering medical opinions. The study of anatomy does not mean the study of injury or disease. First year of medical school includes anatomy and other courses that explain how the body does things normally. Second year begins the study of how things go wrong. Serious groin pain with altered mental status is unlikely to be musculoskeletal. Could have testicular torsion, necrotizing fasciitis or a host of other conditions. My sympathies to farfromahero, and I hope the hospital figures it out.
@abecedarian, I have every right to offer "medical advice" seeing since nobody else had yet. Elderly people tend to have psychological issues as it is, so someone who had been to war previously with bad experiences would be more prone to not handle being tied down that well, that part is not that hard to figure out. Also, a groin "injury" having something to do with the mental state is really reaching & simply has nothing to with the other, those two are not connected in any way, shape, or form. An injury resulting in an altered mental state would have to coincide with a brain injury, or dellusions resulting from a snake bite, hallucinagenics, etc. But yes, groin pain could be far more serious than just a muscle problem, but without a CT-Scan of the patient, neither you or I could make a diagnosis. Anything that I said was technically just an opinion & the same goes for your opinion. Lastly, if anyone is going to give a medical opinion, shouldn't it be a professional?...
@Metzger, wow 2 years later and your comment was still unbelievably stupid.
@farfromahero, but did he die?
Wait, drink alcohol daily and you die 30 years early? That sounds pretty fallacious.
I don't drink or smoke...number 3 is what happens to me daily ;-;
It kills.. Hurts.. Consumes daily. Number 3. Emotions are cruel
There has been a recent study that the stress of life will kill you before alcohol
The study took people of different stress levels and had portions of each drink heavily/moderately/socialy/ and not at all
In all stress groups the social and moderately groups lived the longest and the non-drinkers died first followed by the heavy drinkers
So excessive moderation of drinking with friends is a great thing to reduce stress!
Sorry for long post have a great day!
@Uubuer, I would up vote this more than once if I could!
@MisterSir, And here I was, thinking I had beat you to an update
@8 Inch Fallacy, I'll probably be asleep by the next one so be ready to seize the opportunity!
