@Arbitrage L, I absolutely love Symphonic Metal. Bands such as Within Temptation, Delain, Epica, and Nightwish produce music that I consider nothing short of epic and beautiful. Then there are artists like Lindsey Stirling or Hayley Westenra. Westenra has a voice that could make angels cry, while Stirling does violin in a way that's nearly impossible to dislike. Then there are groups like Skillet and Simple Plan that quite simply are just amazing as hell. I am going to do everything in my power to ensure that my children and grandchildren will enjoy the same music that enriches my life, self-worth, and my limitless imagination.

@BohemianNerd, do people give you strange looks when you say that they're Symphonic Metal? Just the mention of the word metal can put the music down to some people since they instantly assume it's something involving a lot of screaming and creepy stuff. I make sure to have people listen to the music before I tell them the genre now. On another note, my favorites songs by Nightwish are Nemo and For the Heart I Once Had.

@Arbitrage L, Man, tons of people give shjt to so many bands just because they get Radio play. I've said this before, but bands like The Killers or Kings of Leon catch waaay more flak than they deserve, just because they're considered "mainstream", especially from fvcking indie purists. Not to mention all the shjt people dump on bands just because it's not their type of music, which bugs me immensely more than some boy band (btw, I realize I'm basically dumping on pop because I don't like it, but it's not the music I dislike, it's just that I have no respect for bands or artists that play or dress however they're told, just to be famous). There are so many genuine bands out there that don't get airtime, and yeah, it sucks, but it's not gonna stop anytime soon. Might as well just tune out and put in a good CD and rant about it on the Internet (sorry, btw).

Do you realize that each decade is only remembered for what was "popular" during the time? Years from now we'll have teenage girls insisting they were born in the wrong decade as they lovingly caress their multiple albums of One Direction, whose five members have long passed away. They'll collect vintage ugg boots and use iPhones as room decorations.

Katy Perry is mostly fine. She has a beautiful voice, and an even hotter body. She's got a good few great songs, though some of them are overrated dreck, like Roar and Unconditional. Seriously, though. I fvcking hate Unconditional. If you have to mispronounce the title word to make it fit the song, it's a bad song and you're a shîtty song writer.
Eh', we still have bands like Muse around. Then there's like, Paramore. There are plenty of current artists who occasionally land in the mainstream that are good. And billions out of the mainstream, that are also good. I think we'll be fine.
