@CriTiKa1, race, ideally, should not play a role. Race, ideally, should be ignored. I don't believe we disagree there. But in our society today, it does play a role. Just ignoring that we have an issue won't make it go away. People are discriminated against, patronized, given special privileges, hired more often, hired less often, and more based on their ethnicity. Race plays a role today. But hopefully, it won't in the near future because it shouldn't. Hope I haven't wasted your time(: Have a lovely day

@CriTiKa1, Ignoring race does not make racial inequalities go away. You can't just pretend that something doesn't exist and you "don't see it" because that's what you think is gonna make people equal. People will only be equal when every race and culture is recognized and viewed as equal. It's really not that complicated.

@I am Levi, I guess you're quoting another comedian, but I've known a few people who dad or brother in law owns a factory and from what they tell me, it doesn't have a damn thing to do with good or bad work. It's just about being able to pay someone half the money to do the same job, and unless you're just phenomenally good at your job, it's not worth it to pay you twice as much as an illegal worker

@Katpee, also watch out for.... equal opportunity employers, "Hey guys, they're going to give us credit for hiring more minorities but we can't ask someone's race on an application...", "Let's add it as a voluntary section", "Genius!...by the way, which box would you check Bill?" "Caucasian, sir, why?" "Oh, your fired, see HR to sign your resignation letter."

Black people and people of color have been systematically disenfranchised from our society for centuries. Maybe we should start accepting some responsibility and realize that centuries of oppression have left them underrepresented in virtually every field. White people are incredibly privileged. jfc

So here's a question - what difficulty am I on if I'm white, with good parents, average financial status, and smart enough to be academically successful, but have a physical disability which makes me wheelchair bound 70% of the time, blind as a bat without glasses, deaf as... There's no good deaf animal comparisons are there? Deaf as whatever without my hearing aids, needed 80+ surgeries just to be able to walk the 30% I do, has chronic joint pain, and, the kicker, just was diagnosed with bone cancer last week. I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just wondering is this considered "easy" with all the skulls on like halo. I want an achievement for this if it is!
Or maybe we can stop playing the race card and accept responsibility
