@Anita Bigock, it's not wrong. They used "racist" as a plural, therefore using "are" would be correct since it's talking about multiple people. If they had said "is racists" or "are racist" it would've been wrong.

@NinjaJoe, incorrect, for example, lets say you say "my family are soldiers" "is soldiers" would be incorect because the second noun is plural. Or I could be an idiot because I forgot how to english.

A black man came soliciting at our door one day. He rang the bell and my mom looked out the side window to see who it was.
