@Paulywolly, Pottery, Earth Science, Fitness, Algebra. Long ago, the four classes lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the fitness nation attacked. Only the avatar, master of all four classes could stop them, but when the school average needed him most, he vanished. 3 months passed and my coworker and I discovered the new avatar, an algebrabender named Aang. And although his algebrabending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save any funding. But I believe Aang can save the school.

Because the teacher knows the subject in way more complexity than you likely ever will, and you're not expected to learn to that degree, you're expected to be educated to know at least a bit

Great point. Applies to food preparation too. Takes many chefs to make different foods. Can't expect you to eat them all. From now on, only hot dogs for you.
