Remember if a man is in charge it's the patriarchy, but if a women is in charge it's equality *tumblrs away to the feminist cave*
@Muttonchoppy, according to feminists if a woman wears a "kill all men shirt" its empowering. If a man wears a "meninist" shirt he's the spawn of satan
@D0N RAM0N, honestly this is the worst patriarchy ever. More women graduate college than men, all women's colleges exist, the homeless population is hugely male, men almost never get custody of their children regardless of the circumstances... I could go on but seriously the "patriarchy" needs to step it's oppression game up
@Muttonchoppy, you hit the nail on the coffin. Radical feminists are the biggest bunch of hypocritical crybabies
@Muttonchoppy, You're oppressing them by spelling "women" instead of "womyn"!
@Muttonchoppy, well said my good logical chap.
@Master Alucard, thank you my good sir. I'm so glad this isn't tumblr or I would be violently blogged to death.
@Muttonchoppy, yeah. My dad only won my sister and I because my didn't even try.
@Muttonchoppy, your examples aren't wrong but the causes of those issues are complex and not due to gender stereotypes. We do live in a patriarchy. Men are more valued and have it easier than women. The wage gap exists. 1 in 3 women experience sexual assault, and then those women are often blamed for it! If you want to learn more about privilege and oppression I suggest you read "Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack" by Peggy FvckinLastName, or "A Gardener's Tale by Some Author.
@SmartFeller, i mean no offense to anyone, and I love you all. I understand we all have different views and opinions. But I believe any rational person would support feminism and disagree with your comments if only they knew enough about privilege, oppression and structural violence. It's too easy for men to get defensive in these issues. But no one is really to blame. We just need to listen and respect and help each other :D
@SmartFeller, more double standards exist against men than any other gender: firstly, saying that those issues (men never getting custody, etc.) aren't caused by discrimination is just stupid. Secondly, women have it WAAAAAY easier than men when it comes to day-to-day life. Women are allowed to vote, run businesses, and do all kinds of other things. But women aren't required to register for selective services. Women can't be drafted. And in several states, and I shjt you motherfvcking not on this one, if a woman rapes a man (it can happen, look it up), and she gets pregnant from raping him, she can sue him for child support. A man can be forcibly raped and impregnate a woman against his will and then be forced to pay child support to her. Fvck off until you've educated yourself A LOT. I get so mad at people like you who come in all "oh we can all have different opinions and still be nice blah blah" but you don't even take the time to do some simple research before MAKING those opinions
@Captain Swordsman, first of all i like you. Second of all, Let's talk about this supposed wage gap. Is it oppression? Or the result of a free society in which anyone can do whatever they want and be paid accordingly? If you are a women and being paid less than a male colleague on behalf of your gender, that is literally a crime. There are equal pay acts in place for that sort of thing. You can actually press charges for that. There's a "wage gap" between left and right handed people too, but no one says anything about that. "but wait" you may ask "why would a patriarchy even allow, much less encourage or dare I say force women to earn as much money as men?" Well that's probably because it doesn't exist. A patriarchy also wouldn't allow women to dictate a country's political future via ballot box FYI.
@Muttonchoppy, I do believe that in some cases women do get paid less than their male counterparts for doing the same job, and it goes unreported. However, I also believe that in some robery cases the robber is named Steve and the person getting robbed is named Joe. The supposed "wage gap" is mostly a result of men being more likely to take on high-risk/high-reward jobs. In crab fishing and mining (two of the most physically demanding and deadliest jobs around), men outnumber women by a lot.
@Captain Swordsman, that is true for the so called " wage gap." Women, even if they become high paying doctors, will very often go into lower paying careers than men. A man may become a heart surgeon and a women would become a pediatrician. And of course there is going to be a pay gap in those jobs. And don't forget, there are a lot of women out there who are against feminism too. It's called Women Against Feminism. Feminism today only stands for unattractive women who are angry at men for not liking them, so they lash out at all men thinking that they are better than everyone else. When really they just make themselves look pathetic.
@Raki Zaki, "Feminism today only stands for unattractive women..." I disagree. For one thing, most guys say they would bang Anita Sarkesian if she weren't so stupid. Secondly, feminism is about power. Women place other women on pedestals and victimize them so they have a shield to say and do whatever they want under the guise of helping poor defenseless women who can't defend themselves.
@Captain Swordsman, I think that men have just as important problems as women do, and I identify as a feminist. We're not all crazy and irrational. I personally think that most "gendered" problems in western society is due to strict gender roles being enforced. Both men and women should safely be accepted as however masculine or feminine as they would like to be. It's a spectrum, but so often men are viewed as the hard, stupid criminal types and women are viewed as desperate, girly whiners. It's harmful to everyone.
@Captain Swordsman, hahaha you are an idiot. Oh sorry that's not productive. I have heard of male survivors of rape having to pay child support, and I agree that's messed up. But that doesn't debunk the need for feminism. Feminism is about respect for personhood and equal social status for all. Sure, men have unique and serious problems in this country too. But overall they are more valued/respected than women. We should both continue to research these topics and adjust our opinions to best information.
@SmartFeller, then why is it called feminism? Oh yeah, because itbused to actually stand for something when women actually did have more problems then men, but nowadays there's no need to call a movement that stands for equality "feminism" if females aren't the main focus anymore. 90% of people who call themselves feminists are actually misandrists, but the worst part, you see, is that they don't even see it that way. They don't even realize that they aren't actually standing for what they even claim to be standing for.
@SmartFeller, this is a bit of a necro post but, please site your sources. All the research that I have done say that the 1 in 5 women are sexually assaulted number (with is smaller than your 1/3) is not accurate, including the people that did the original research said that their numbers are being used incorrectly. It's closer to 1/25, which is still unacceptable, but nothing near the 1/3 you are claiming. Also the wage gap does exist, but it's closer to 90-95 cents to the dollar, not 77 to the dollar that is being thrown around a lot.
@Muttonchoppy, I see what youre saying, but there are also many points in which women are opressed. What y'all are thinkin of are misandrists, when all feminists really want is to be treated equally. They get paid less, are treated worse in the workplace, catcalled on the street, are less likely to get promotions, are mocked for everyday things, etc. Feminisim also helps men in many ways, because the patriarchy has set up unrealistic ideals of manliness for men, where if they dont live up to that standard, they arent "real men". Take a 5 year old, for example. If they like Superheroes and G.I Joe, then they will have an easy time making friends, but if they like something more "feminine," like Barbies or My Little Pony, they will often be teased by their piers. There are many issues in the world for BOTH genders due to the Patriarchy, and we really just want to break that down so everyone can live equally. :)
@Geth, 1/3 is the number that I've heard for women on college campuses, not overall. If that helps. And I heard that number used in political speeches, on news programs, and by my sister who is studying these issues in grad school, but I don't have an original survey or study.
@shakeweight, also, I understand if you don't want to continue this discussion, this is an app for funny pictures after all
@shakeweight, that actually makes it less believable, because the same age group of women are more likely to be sexually assaulted if they don't go to college than if they do.
That is my source. I think there is an issue with rape, but it's not a gender issue. Unfortunately, men can just as easily be raped by women, but no one really considers this to be true.
Just get rid of the spaces in the links.
@Geth, Well, more women do get raped than men, but that doesn't make male rape any less significant. Any rape statistic is too high. It's awful that anyone has to be afraid of such a violent invasion of privacy.
@shakeweight, that isn't even true actually, according to the FBI 40% of rapists are women (can source of needed). That's almost half of rapes being done to men, and that's not even including male on male rape. It would be best to consider rape not to be an issue related to gender at all, or we'll never get anywhere in trying to fix the issue. Saying "well, more women are raped than men" no matter how well intintioned perpetuates the issue and prevents us from solving it.
@Geth, It would be great if it wasn't a gender issue (not saying that gender issues mean one gender against another) but while men and women have much of the same hardships, the circumstances of their hardships are different. So gender does play a role in some way no matter what. But yeah, it shouldn't be about pitting genders against each other. Rather it should be about about bringing everyone up.
@shakeweight, that is very true, and I agree. Thank you for the discussion
@SmartFeller, poor thing so your proof that this is a patriarchal society is that in your opinion men are treated better. You do see how an opinion you hear on tumblr but can't offer even three backing points (besides the whole men get paid more which isn't true in any job I've worked over the years nor any work place anyone I know has worked so it seems to be more of a myth than anything) isn't true it's just an excuse
This is NOT feminism. This is misandry. This is not what feminists want. Downvote me to hell, I dont care, you all need to understand this. Jesus.
@niffler, Lol up above the people are congratulating themselves that funny pics is so much more tolerant than tumblr while simultaneously spelling out all the times that women have it better off than men. Those type of people are really fond of turning feminism into a gender war. It's not about who has it better. It's about bringing both genders up.
@niffler, Real feminism died a few decades ago. This third wave of feminism is misandry disguised as feminism. It's not what feminism should be, but it's what it is at the moment.
@Ruupasya, I will have to disagree with you on that. The misandrists are a very small but loud minority. There is a hood hearted feminist movement but they are being overshadowed.
@niffler, I appreciate and agree with all that you and shakeweight have said :)
@shakeweight, then why is it called "feminism".
@Captain Swordsman, I think it's just a name, formerly synonymous with equalist etc. but now it's hard for most people to compare the two because of all the negative connotations associated with feminism. I'd totally call myself a meninist too if that movement wasn't created solely with the purpose of mocking feminism.

@TheSillySausage, Jaden Smith Addition
I uploaded this!! It disappeared from my pending a few days ago, now here it is and I don't get credit for it!
Remember kids, a girl can do whatever she puts her mind to and deserves an endless amount of encouragement and support. A boy how ever can go fudge himself. *Inhales* ahh can you just smell the tumblerina period blood! Equality!
I will still defend tumblr as a straight white male. There may be a LOT of annoying people there but it has many amazing artists, comics, and political blogs to read and follow.
Her cup says "male tears" 😂
People complaining about feminists are just as annoying or more annoying than the feminists theirselves.
Feminism is about equality. Not hating, excluding, or putting men down. Feminism is about having equal pay for equal work. Feminism is about leveling the playing field and teaching people that a single dad braiding his little girl's hair doesn't make him gay.
Dat butt chin tho.
She's literally scrEAMING like wtf *insert more tumblr anger*
How to play chess: step 1: you don't.
@Bear Ass Bear, chess is a great game.
Isn't this actually less misogynistic? The woman is protecting the man. It's a reverse of gender roles!
I'm still not 100% sure what it means by triggered...
@Datsright, from what I understand, it's about to turn her beast mode on and she's gonna rampage and rage out. She's "triggered."
@Datsright, a trigger warning is supposed to be a warning of possibly triggering content (e.g. A rape victim might be triggered (PTSD) by a detailed discussion of rape). However, tumblr has turned it into "warn me about anything that might possibly make me uncomfortable," so there are a lot of overly sensitive people on there that I have no idea how they survive in the real world (one person was triggered by trees?). So when she's saying she's triggered, she's saying that you've caused her to have an anxiety attack, but in reality, she's probably just uncomfortable, if even that.
Is she mad cause it says whites go first
