God hates figs
@MidgetQ, This changes everything.
@MidgetQ, God loves figs. He just doesn't like fig flavor
@MidgetQ, That's someone's Xbox Gamer tag. Met them back in MW2 ' S hay day.
@MidgetQ, figs are the most likely candidate for the forbidden fruit.
Jesus is using the tree as a metaphor for people who were given gifts (talents) and did nothing with them and basically let their life waste away.
@Blubcakes, from the comic's perspective, so much was missed. He yelled at the tree, in front of everyone, for not having fruit OUT OF SEASON. To make it better, the tree DIED. That would be like yelling at a Walmart for not having Halloween decorations in April, and the store spontaneously combusting and burning down while you walked away.
@Blubcakes, Yeah. I don't personally believe in any of it, but it's pretty obvious that most of the bible story's are metaphors rather than literal stories.
@Sleeper, that's very true but hey, it's just a metaphor.
Wait. It's not normal to yell at trees? That explains the weird day at the park then.
@AngelicVelociraptor, don't let people tell you what you can't do. Just do what you love doing.
@AngelicVelociraptor, yelling at trees is like talking to trees, it's fine. It's when they start talking back that you have a problem.
While writing the bible: "I'm going to make it so he only yells at One tree."
Jesus was just hungry after "leaving" Bethany.
I never want to meet the kind of person who finds these comics funny... (I don't mean Bible related comics, I mean the comics from this artist)
@BaconPopsicle, Hello. The name is DamnTootsiePopOwl, how you doing?
This is my favorite story in the gospel! #SassyJesus
Is this real
@Jack Meoff, Yup, he curses the tree for not having fruit. I think it's in either the gospel of Mark or Matthew, can't remember which.
@CriTiKa1, new favorite verse
@Jack Meoff, my favorite is when he goes to the temple and sees the merchants and literally starts flipping tables
@Jack Meoff, He cursed it for looking like it had fruit, but not having fruit on it. As a parable to his disciples, and all Christians, that it's not about what you look like or do from the outside but whether or not you produce "fruit" in your life. For many can say that they knew Jesus, but if they don't produce "fruit" then Jesus will deny them or "curse the tree."
@Lord Commander Snow, Don't forget the whipping.
@Lord Commander Snow, Don't forget about the whip cord. 😎
Interesting point sir...
