@ShadowDante, With Nintendo, you still get the full game so even if you don't buy the dlc, you don't feel ripped off. At least I don't. They said that they don't work on dlc until the game is complete. I also think the dlcs are priced well. Mario Kart was $12 for 16 courses, I think 5 characters and then more vehicles.

@The Handlebar , That's the problem though, a lot of DLC being sold isn't more content. It's content that was taken out of the original game and then sold back to the consumer. I have no problem with DLC that actually expand the game. But I do have a problem with developers stripping down their vanilla game so that they can squeeze as much cash out of the consumer as they can.

@CriTiKa1, That's why it's up to the consumer to be wise in the games he/she buys. If you're experienced enough then you can tell which games offer the most bang for your buck. If everyone does this then the games that milk consumers will start to die and game developers will begin to keep more content in their game on launch. People really do vote with their dollar but the biggest issue is that consumers don't understand that.

@The Handlebar , more the fact that Developers stay successful doing it. I blame mainstream crap like call of duty which basically is a refresh of the last iteration every year now. I actually had fun with the original one, two was meh, then it just got old. But people line up for days for the latest one despite this. Cause the average consumer is as dumb as a box of rocks lined with table salt.
Not Nintendo. Feels good to have a Wii U.
