I actually find it ironic that we put Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill, considering he was completely against paper currency
@Glorious Grapefruit, and because he was a racist asshat who in modern times doesn't deserve to be celebrated
@Glorious Grapefruit, But he was a complete badass
@Luna 5, why is this down voted he led the trail of tears and force the native Americans to suffer he hated blacks, wanted complete government control... he was perhaps the worst president ever
@Glorious Grapefruit, Yeah. Going against Congress and doing what he wanted even though they said no. Sending thousands off to their death. If he were to do this now he would be impeached. Not giving my opinion, just giving facts.
@Glorious Grapefruit, it isn't made of paper. It is cloth
@Idiot, I completely agree. He was a complete asshole. That's why I don't understand why we would put him on our currency
@emoq100, I know, but it's still referred to as paper money
@Glorious Grapefruit, it wasn't paper money he was against, he was against the federal reserve. He wanted gold BACKED currency. Paper notes are fine as long as the value is in gold.
And to everyone else in here, Andrew Jackson may have hated injuns, but it was a different time. People need to stop looking at the negatives and look at the positives. Jackson was the only president in history to balance the budget. He was a fantastic tactician, and overall just one hell of a man. He'd be better than the past 10 presidents we've had.
@Glorious Grapefruit, isn't he why democrats have a donkey? Because he was called jack@ss and he liked it?
@I am bacon man, Yes actually
@Glorious Grapefruit, I wouldn't be surprised if, in part, it has to do with his very lowly beginnings in life. He was the first president (IIRC) not to come from aristocracy, so he represents that "American Dream" mentality. Perfect for a $20 bill image
@Luna 5, He was also a war hero who protected New Orleans from a British invasion. None of the presidents back then would be presidents now. Hell, Lincoln wanted to send black people to Africa after the Civil War. And just about every single founding father owned slaves.
@Idiot, *cough* *cough* obama
@Glorious Grapefruit, yea but it helped create possibilities that made our country what we are today. Though no one likes either parties he created the democrats and the only president to pay off the national debt. There's so much more he's done to help improve America, but I don't want to say them all because it will make this post too long. So he's better to be placed on the $20 then half of the choices the feminist group is going for.
@Idiot, what he did, was the equivalent of killing Bin Laden in todays society, the American people didnt want indians near the populated areas, since they were seen as "savages" sure you can blame that on propaganda, but if you say that you have to acknowledge current day propaganda. Andrew Jackson was'nt a bad guy when you consider the era he was in. Atleast he kept his promises of wiping out the indians, wether it be a messed up thing or not, thats what the people of the time wanted.
@The Lone Guppy, I'm sorry you see it that way...
@Idiot, you make it seem as though i feel he is a good guy to todays standards, which i dont. All im saying is that to say he would be impeached for those actions that he did then, is comparing apples to oranges.
@Glorious Grapefruit, that's his punishment for killing thousands
@CriTiKa1, read your history, the war was already over when the battle of New Orleans took place. He did nothing.
@Venturingbud, Doesn't matter that the war was over, the city was still being attacked. If he hadn't defended it, it would've been sacked by British soldiers.
All in favor?
@RMB, Oh lord not this again
@RMB, sorry m8, but Andrew Jackson was the bees knees
@RMB, hell to the no
@Tiny Tina, I think you need to read up on your Andrew Jackson history
@RMB, no. I already uploaded a picture of this and I say no. You can't do this. It's the same thing with Female Thor. You're not being innovative, you're being lazy and changing something that already is. I don't mind if they make a new bill with her, but I want Jackson on my 20.
@Master Alucard, it's not uncommon for the face on US tender to change throughout the years. If this is weird to you it is probably because it hasn't happened in your lifetime
@RMB, last I checked, last time someone else was on the five was post civil war era. I didn't say it's weird, I said it's not innovative and it's lazy. Make a new bill and put her on it. I don't care if it's a 25 dollar bill, it'll be easier to break 50 dollar bills now and pay for lunches and throw at strippers. But what they're doing is the same thing they're doing for thor or like a sequel but changing the character.
@Master Alucard, I dunno man, this isn't supposed to be innovative. We're just picking a new person to respect by putting their face on our tender. That being said, I think it'd be nice to see a new face around.
@Barry Dylan, everyone calls him terrible for the trail of tears, in reality he made it clear that if he was elected he would kill native Americans, so it isn't just Andrew jacksons fault, rather all of Americas for voting him into office
@RMB, we don't change our bills out of respect (while all people on bills are respected Americans) we do it so that counterfeiters can't copy them as easily
@Tiny Tina, it is amazing how people totally ignore the fact that now days are so much different from when he was president. I blame media talking about racism, making people think its that same as 200 years ago and shizz
@The Lone Guppy, yeah, I feel as though people look back at how people were slaves and the blacks were discriminated against, but in reality it was just how society was, and if they were born into that time period they would most likely be the same way
I thought woman didn't want to be objectifed
I'd vote for it if we had to. Especially if we want to be more progressive, since Andrew Jackson was bit of a racist dick.
A group of people somewhere want to put a women on the 20 dollar bill. I'm all for women rights and commemoration and all, but I think only presidents should be on money.
We need to change it to a better MAN. Why do we need it to be a woman. Because if we don't they'll say it's sexist. Bitches.
But... But.... Mr Jackson's fabulous hair....
This has got to be one of the most ridiculous moves our leadership is making. It's a waste of time, money, and energy.
I will NOT rest until Henry Clay is on our currency
Just put her on the penny. Lincoln already has the $5.
I would like to see Harriet Tubman on currency,because she was a true American hero and a total badass.I just don't want it being done just for political correctness.That's like saying she only gets it because she is a woman/black, rather that her bravery and accomplishments.
UM guys, I'm pretty sure that's Harriet Tubman.....
@Eating Oatmeal, we know
@RMB, But above comments were saying "him" so I wasn't sure that you knew it was her.
Doing blow off his face might feel weird.
*invests money into a new Underground Railroad*
Id probably never buy anything if i had to look at that face
@Luna 5, Eisenhower.
@Luna 5, inb4 all Republicans say Regan
@Luna 5, Ronald Reagan was the most successful as a president, my views however align with Thomas Jefferson
Would help with decision making
I just like the idea of him in my wallet having a staring contest nose to nose with the Andrew Jackson bill
Who wouldn't want this to become a thing?
@xxxIkaros Melan, people who don't want our broke ass country to spend a fvck ton of money to swap out currency just for the sake of puting a different person on it.
