I collect vinyl and this is utter bullsh!t. Let's make a comparison, why do pc gamers spend so much on a gaming rig when it's easier and cheaper to play on console? And before anyone pulls the digital media and convenience argument I also use Spotify premium. AND before someone pulls the hipster using mom and dad's money argument, I have 2 jobs and pay for both my vinyl and Spotify on my own. Reason I use vinyl, I like owning a physical piece of media from the beautiful cover art to the sometimes amazing record itself (there's more than just black records). And I don't have a huge display like in the picture, I have a $25 record player and $20 aux speaker, plain simple and I love it. My rule is this, if you have to choose between buying something and paying bills you need to reconsider the purchase. Sorry if this seems ranty, I just hate when people bash hobby's like this, I'll leave now.
@TheDrew2639, I'd like a big set up like in the picture because I love old music and vintage things. I'm not hipster or anything. Plus, I want them for the same reason people want a bookshelf. You have two or three in there you've actually read. The rest are sort of.. For decoration.
@TheDrew2639, people bashed hobbies like this? Wtf it's awesome.
@TheDrew2639, I too enjoy vinyl. Being able to hold it in your hand and know what it is is much better than reading a title on a computer. Oh, and about the whole pricing issue. Most decent to good records you can get for around 5-10 dollars. Or you can go online and buy a song for 1.3 dollars... the expense is not an issue
@TheDrew2639, I wouldn't say it's easier to play on console.
Vinyl has that authentic scratch, which remind you of senselessly tossing money into a wood chipper.
I love my records more than anything
I collect vinyl and it's not that bad.
They sell old records for like like $1…
@jamamrock, ya, $1 for an entire album or $1.30 for a song...
Bug issue: when I switch from cellular data to wifi, I will get signed out of my account, but I can disconnect from wifi and be logged back in when connected to cellular data
If hipsters were honest
Hey look, i got top comment!
(That's you guys' cue;) )
@mediocrelizard , no
@mediocrelizard , oh god, never again
It's not like there were any alternatives at the time....
@Iron Vader, (the time is now. This is a poke at the rare breed of "hipsters" that walk the earth with us.)
