Would it be bad if I gave a homeless woman 3/4ths of a dollar?
@Taquito Speedo, are we talking 75 cents or you ripped a dollar
@Fat cow, I like the way you think. You're hired! You only get paid half of what a man makes cause you're a cow.
@dirty wallnut, what job do I have
@Fat cow, yes
@Taquito Speedo, ?
@Fat cow, I ripped 75 cents
@Taquito Speedo, stop with these mind games
@Fat cow, ain't no party like a mind game party, cuz a mind game party don't stop
@Fat cow, go into this pen and wait to be harvested.
@dirty wallnut, okay
@Taquito Speedo, well you see the reason men are paid more for an actually well done job
@dirty wallnut, it was a joke...
@djffnysoldier, *points to the door* 😐😑😐
@Fat cow, you produce milk, welcome to the farmiry
As a female who has worked a wide array of jobs I have never encountered this.
@Antisocialite, as a male who is tired of hearing about this I deeply appreciate your honesty.
@jklyt1, I concur
@Antisocialite, I have also never encountered this.
@Antisocialite, I believe it only applies to really high up position like CEO'S and board members. However, that whole culture is such a messed up clusterfvck it shouldn't count.
Cause the wage gap isn't real
@SpasmChasm, idk why you got downvoted. The "research" for the wage gap is known already to have been skewed, it's common knowledge, since it lumped all wages together (like waitress and store owner). More men had higher paying jobs, so the average pay went more in their favor. I'm not good at explaining things, but it's something along those lines
@Kangaroo Jacked, the research only took into account women vs. men wages. It didn't take into account what kind of jobs they had and how many ours they worked. If you break it down by profession, women and men are payed the same
@Kangaroo Jacked, and men work more hours. More hours=more pay
@D0N RAM0N, for example. My co-worker is always forcing me to cover her shifts.
I am paid MUCH more.
@SpasmChasm, on average more men work full time so their pay is better. Hillary Clinton herself pays her female staff less.
@CrazyRightWinger, really? Is it because her female staff works less?
@SpasmChasm, in the article it said salary that usually indicates full time but not an hourly wage
@Kangaroo Jacked, it also doesn't bring into account the multiple factors that are associated with pay, such as education, marital status, if people have kids, job sector, and so on.
@Kangaroo Jacked, but why do men get hired for better paying jobs? And why, in a general sense and not one commenter's anecdote, do they get more hours?
@Comment Stalker, they choose not to work them. Women go home early, take more time off, and thus don't advance as quickly. Leadership is highly correlated to hours out in. Women are not staying overtime and skipping vacations to impress the boss.
@WilfredMott, hours put in*
@Comment Stalker, also better paying jobs are often high risk physical labor such as coal mining, police work, firefighting, plumbing etc. women are not applying for these high paying jobs.
@Comment Stalker, men have historically entered higher paying jobs at a higher rate: engineering, physicians, ceo etc. and women have historically entered lower paying jobs at a higher rate: teacher, nurse etc. the difference in hours are that women are more likely to leave the work force for a significant amount of time to raise a family.
@SpasmChasm, well, it's real, but it's only a few cents.
Looking through the comments like "Let's spot the feminist"
Because some jobs are better suited for men. Some women are just no physically capable of what some men can do. Standards shouldn't be lowered for the sake of getting females jobs. You are either qualified and meet the standards or you don't. Why am I still ranting? Sorry for the long post.
@Pantheon, these statistics aren't for women's average pay vs men's average pay for all jobs ever, they are for two identical jobs ( often office jobs because of the physical capability ). Popular excuses for the pay gap is that women receive payed maternity leave, but there is still a pay gap in countries that give men paternity leave ( yes it's a real thing) The reason many industries are still male dominated besides the pay gap is that many (sexist) bosses still see women as emotional and incapable. Why am I still ranting? Because apparently the FP community is full of idiots.
@Debby Downer, nope, the statistics are for average income. In identical jobs actually single women make the most, single women make 102% of what single men make.
@Debby Downer, a political website? Wow, such evidence. Should I reply with a website from GOP.com or something?
@Debby Downer, http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702303532704579483752909957472
@talmet, I wonder if the Wall Street Journal knows how to calculate wage statistics? Oh look, they even break down stats for people with different educations, full vs part time, high risk vs low risk jobs, etc.
@talmet, No way Wallstreet can do wage research! I prefer www.allmenarepigs.com for all my research, they're reliable!
@Can yew knot, oh snap!
@Debby Downer, #rekt
@talmet, sir I believe you have just "rekt" her. Good show ol' chap.
@Debby Downer, so business owners consciously lose money by paying men more for exactly the same amount and quality of work? Hmmm
I think that if the pay gap were real, and employers could get away with paying women less for exactly the same work, then the women to men ratio in the private sector would be 99-1.
So they can get some work done!
*sound of triggering I'm background*
Ugh, why post these pictures? We act like we are so friendly and happy on this app but when anything politics I posted it's all arguments and people getting down voted for stating their opinion… let's leave these pictures out…
@Mirrors Edge, according to your comment, I must now down vote you for stating your opinion. 😈
Because men GET IT DONE RIGHT!!!
The wage gap is not as prevalent as it used to be. the real problem is that women are statistically just as educated bs qualified as their male counterparts, yet are not given the higher paying positions such as leadership roles/higher exec roles. These roles are statistically overwhelmingly occupied by men. That's the problem.
@eraeryn, because women generally don't do anything to impress their boss. They take more time off and take more vacations.
@Sir LancesALot, I hope you're joking. Like, I really hope you're joking. That has to be one of the most ridiculous responses anyone could have come up with.
In reputable companies, employees are given an allotment of vacation and sick leave. These things are part of their benefits package. They aren't allowed to take time off outside of these allotments that are not approved by FMLA. If you're referring to maternal leave then you just don't understand the medical necessity of time off after child birth.
@eraeryn, actually he is referring to people who don't take any vacation time from their allotment that they are given. People who never take time off for any reason even for vacation even if they are paid for it. And are allowed to take it. Those are the people that get noticed by upper management more they put in more hours than is needed and they never take time off. And if you don't understand that that's why you will never advance very far in your career. It's only when you reach the top that you can take a lot of vacation. And even those people give up their free time to come into work when things need to be done.
@Seohn, dude no, people who don't take vacations have lower productivity and quality of work long term. Also, vacation time is shown to better the economy since wage earners are out spending more $$$. Spend some time researching this subject.
@Seohn, sorry I didn't see that you had replied.
@heronheavens, ‘medical necessity of time time off after childbirth,’ really? When I was born, my mom worked as superintendent of a golf course, which means she had to do a lot of physical labor. I was born in the summer, at the peak of the busy season. You know how much ‘time off’ she had after having me? Less than a week. And I wasn’t a particularly easy labor/birth...
Does that explain your incredibly skin?
Waiter... How many times is there gonna be politics in my funny?
@Walker Texas Ranger , as many times as it takes
Cuz they want the job done right
Only if she gives me 3/4 blowy or handy
To get shjt done.
I thought about that the other day, and the only reason I could think of for a wage gap is what if they pay men for the fact that they enter into a draft when they turn 18. Feel free to let me know if women do that too, but to the best of my knowledge I have no idea if they do. I know that a draft isn't really relevant any more, but we are always at risk for a mandatory draft like Vietnam and situations like that
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, the draft is becoming less likely as the military becomes more automated. Drones n shjt
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, the wage gap is using statics to lie. It doesn't exist when you take into account things like - women leave the work force to raise their children.
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, It's because the statistics are done poorly. They just look at what each gender makes a year without looking at the jobs. So they essentially compared women working as a nurse, to men working as engineers. When you look at men and women in the in the same profession they make the same amount of money.
