A group of people tried to get his gold medal taken away, but it was decided that during the time he was a man that they wouldn't take it away. Stupid logic by people who care too much. His choice to be whatever he wants, but he's still a man named Bruce that can't drive and is Mr. Garrison's Vice President choice.
@Red Jack Hood, I wanna know why nymph down voted me. Did I offend you lmao
@Red Jack Hood, here's an up vote to atone for his/her stupidity
@Red Jack Hood, Just checking, which logic are you saying is stupid? To take her medal away or not to?
(Yes she drove recklessly and has awful politics, but people change name all the time. Even I changed my name.)
@Handless Juggler , I think its the logic that she is a man who has always felt like a woman so should be considered a woman but still gets to keep her medal for a men's decathlon even though she should be considered a woman back then too. Bruce gets her cake and eats it too
@Sah3369, the thing is she has a man's body, with the greater speed strength and endurance evolution granted it.
@Red Jack Hood, BUCKLE UP BUCKAROO
@The Nephalem, He* has a man's body because he is a man and that's how genetics work.
@Red Jack Hood, I agree with everything up till the "he" part. She's a girl dude. Doesn't matter what she was born with, just call her what she wants to be called. Why not? The only reason is being stubborn. It doesn't fncking matter.
@Can yew knot, Dude, you gotta be a dick like that? Just call her what she wants to be called. Does it actually affect you in any way? Does her life choices about how to identify somehow mess with your daily routine? I didn't think so.
@Screw YOLO, someone got it
@Radically Irrational, this isn't tumblr, quit getting offended by petty shít
@Handless Juggler , the logic to take away his medal. Doesn't matter if he thinks and is registered as a women now. During that time period he was legally a man so the medal is his.
@Handless Juggler , the driving and politics thing comes from South Park
@Efrainlikesrain, why the hell do people in this generation get so offended. I didn't say anything offensive except that he's Bruce Jenner to me.
@Radically Irrational, the way I see it and ptactice it, if they have a vag, theyre a she, if they have a djck, theyre a he. I find that to be a logical way to sort it out
@Red Jack Hood, I ain't offended dude, I'm defending transgender people's choices. Holy sh!t I didn't realize how many of you people there were out there who are digging in your heels and still calling her a man.
@Can yew knot, Actually that's not how genetics work, because humans don't just have XX and XY pairings. Google Androgen insensitivity syndrome or Klinefelted syndrome (but mostly the first one)
@Radically Irrational, Spoiler alert, this community is one of the most homophobic and transphobic that I've ever encountered. It doesn't do well to respect people here.
@shakeweight, no, it's not. But what we do want is for every person to not get offended at every little thing. We make fun of each other all the time, but when some "trans" topic comes about, everyone gets all offended, and we can't say anything, personal opinion or joke
@shakeweight, it's a fücking man in my book. I'm not homophobic or transphobic, it's not my choice he can do whatever Bruce wants, but I'm not going to call a almost 70 year old man Caitlyn because he got a sex change.
@Radically Irrational, you are offended, Bruce said it himself, he doesn't care what people call him but he prefers to be called Caitlyn. My choice is to cal him Bruce still.
@shakeweight, my aunt and uncle are gay but I don't judge them. It's their choice, we joke about how gay some people are and I support same sex marriage because it's not my choice.
@Red Jack Hood, i mean, instead of man/women catagories we could label everything by XX/XY
@The Vanguard, I'm not really sure where you're going with that lol females are determined by the xx chromosomes and males are determined by the xy chromosomes before they're born.
@Red Jack Hood, yah i know. My exam on that stuff is Tuesday.
@Red Jack Hood, I understand the desire for simplicity, but sex is not as binary as we're taught in school. If you define sex as chromosomes, then you miss out a whole bunch of people who are neither XX nor XY.
If you define it as testosterone or estrogen levels, then it's a scale. Everyone has varying levels of both.
If you define it as having a vagina/penis or ovaries/testes then, again, there are people with neither, both, bits of both, organs in different places like internal testes or whatever.
So even if you identify psychological gender with biological sex (which lots of people disagree with, but I'm not defending that losing battle here), then science still isn't on the side of a lovely clean binary!
@Red Jack Hood, I mean, it's not a choice to be gay, but I'm glad you support them.
@Handless Juggler , I'm not bringing science into it because there is so much we still do not know about when it comes to this. Yes we know it's a chemical effect in the brain that makes them this way, but we still can't explain it fully.
@shakeweight, sometimes it actually is a choice. It's called being an attention whore and I've seen a few who say they are gay, but do it for attention.
@Red Jack Hood, There's a cool podcast about the chemical effect in a special case where someone kept alternating between the two genders and when they monitored their brain could actually map out when the change occurred. I think it's through 'Radio Lab'.
@shakeweight, statistically, in one of the most comprehensive twin - gene studies yet done, genetics only account for ~40% of being gay. The rest is choice and environment.
@shakeweight, Brain chemistry is by no means genetic or something that is beyond our control. I can increase hormones and chemicals in the brain (namely testosterone) by acting and thinking a certain way. You can increase dopamine and serotonin also by thinking certain ways. Heck, there's probably only a few chemical states that you can't personally induce.
@Can yew knot, Why you always downvote me? 😭
Just kidding, I don't mind :)
@Handless Juggler , I didn't like your logic
@Can yew knot, Are you not a fan of logic?
@Handless Juggler , Some logic, like yours, is often misused to create situations and answers that, while they stand technically true, are neither practical nor right.
@Can yew knot, What's impractical about people that don't fit into a gender/sexual binary? I know a fair few and they get on just fine. I even married one.
I'm not sure what the difference is between 'right' and 'true' as you're using the terms, but thank you for saying my statements are true!
@Red Jack Hood, don't know but I concur
@Handless Juggler , My point is, trying to create terms to satisfy every small anomaly is just unexceptional and hindering. The difference between right and true, per say, is something along the lines of this. Every human has 2 arms and 2 legs, a mouth, eyes, ears, etc. However, I can technically say that since some genetic anomalies are born without certain limbs and such, that that characterization is inaccurate. Is the true? Yes. Is that right, to change terms so that they include EVERY possible aspect that can be altered? No.
@Handless Juggler , The same way I can say that what makes a human are the 23 pairs of chromosomes we have. However, butting up that "some humans have *blank* genetic disorder and have 23 1/2 pairs so therefor you can say what makes us humans are 23 pairs of chromosomes" would be true but not right
@Can yew knot, "trying to create terms to satisfy every small anomaly is just unexceptional and hindering."
These anomalies are people. What you're essentially saying is "I don't want to admit non-binary people exist because there aren't very many of them."
It's really not that much of a hindrance to be minimally decent to trans folks! Try it once, you might end up liking it :)
@Handless Juggler , Actually, what I am saying is that genetic anomalies shouldn't be forced into the common terminology. Just like if you tried to tell me that not all humans have a head because *xyz disorder* makes *small amount* of humans without a head. Or that the sky isn't blue because *sometime* and *somewhere* it appears red for a while.
@Handless Juggler , Sadly for you, modifying words and popular culture to fit the whims of a overwhelming minority of the population is never successful.
@Can yew knot, They don't ask for the world to change for them in ways that aren't just how they're labeled very often. There are some that over reach and shove their ways down others throats, but there are people like that for everything. Most of them just ask that you use the proverbs they prefer and call them the name they like. That's about it.
@Radically Irrational, hey shut the fück up. Quit being sensitive.
@Red Jack Hood, Nice rebuttals there. I can tell you are very wise and you're opinions are definitely the ones that the world should follow. #RedJackHood2016
@Red Jack Hood, wait, but she's not a man, sure, at the time she was a man, but now Bruce is nonexistent. Generals such as Ulysses S. Grant have medals held, and they aren't alive. I think I'm confused. Are you saying Caitlyn is a man?
@Mellow Cello, yes he is a man. Still has his penis
TRIGGERED jk I don't give a fvck about social issues that have no affect on me.
@Percy Jackson, I wish everyone was like this...
@Percy Jackson, "affect"? "affect"?? You wanna fuggin go bro!??
@Dr Rick Sanchez, crap did I use the wrong one? I'm sorry English is seriously not my strong point
@Percy Jackson, sounds like you need CM Punk's grammar slam on YouTube
@Percy Jackson, affect can actually be used as a noun (an effect as a verb) contrary to what most people believe, but it's almost exclusive to such use in psychology. The noun affect means emotion, or mood, etc. Otherwise, it's more often used as a verb. Not an unforgivable error, most people mix them up anyhow.
@GoFhakUrself, *and effect... Gosh, I always make mistakes when I try to offer English tips. :P
@Dr Rick Sanchez, he's not PC bro!
@Idiot, you wish everyone ignored social issues that didn't affect them? Like civil rights and abortion?
@Iswearimfunny, To be fair, if EVERYONE acted that way like he said, no one would be stopping civil rights or abortions in the first place and they wouldn't be social issues
On an unrelated note: Who else remembers the star rating system funny pics used to have? Oh how the times have changed.
@SilverGrim, and the unregistered
That was like 39 years ago. Who cares?
He had a penis when he won it. So no.
@Idiot, Still has one.
@CriTiKa1, I heard he still has a penis is this actually true?
@Doughnut Boy, Who knows, maybe yes maybe no. Really doesn't matter. A sex change operation would just give him a mutilated penis.
@Idiot, He also was a man and still is a man
On a serious note, how does one upload a photo? I attempted on numerous times to no avail. They won't approve them.
@Efrainlikesrain, don't give up. Try uploading multiple pics at once. I usually submit about 25 at a time, and 4-5 will be approved.
She was male when she won it, so no.
@Miss Trottimus, also, it's Caitlyn, not Bruce
@Miss Trottimus, Still is male. Literally never gonna be female since it's impossible to change your chromosomes.
@CriTiKa1, look I'm sure you know this but there can be a societal difference between biological sex and perceived gender. This isn't a new thing it's just not common in our culture. So if we meet someone who looks like a man but says they are a woman we can just nod and move on with our day because it's not worth fighting over. I didn't care about Bruce and now I don't care about Caitlyn.
@HolyCatchphrase, Why do we hospitalize people with other mental disorders who have delusional psychosis like that, but society is now supposed to just play along when trans people believe things about themselves that are incorrect?
@ExtraGFromNiger, we don't hospitalize everyone with a mental disorder. Only if they're dangerous or unable to care for themselves.
@HolyCatchphrase, I agree with you. But Miss Trottimus specifically said male, which is used to describe sex, not gender. Male and female are used for sex, man and woman are used for gender. You can't change your sex.
@CriTiKa1, ah. understood
@CriTiKa1, yes but sex isn't defined purely by chromosomes. It's defined by a combination of genitalia (male in Caitlyn's case for now), chromosomes (always make in Caitlyn's case), hormones (female in Caitlyn's case assuming she's on hormones like most trans people), and secondary sex characteristics (some of which (body fat distribution, breast tissue) are female in Caitlyn's case and some of which (voice) are male). So saying that Caitlyn's sex is male is not an entirely accurate statement, nor does it reflect her body or her medical history.
@CriTiKa1, Thank you!
If you like Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner, then go ahead and talk about how great he/she is, but I can never support that kind of thing
Was this joke really worth all the effort that was put into it?
STAHP IT GUYSSSSS!!!! SHE'S LIKE A HEROOOO OMG 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😥😥😥😥😥😡😡😡😡😢 #HERO #SOBRAVEOMG
