@generic zombie, Trucks like all vehicles have blind spots. On the right side the blind spot is huge and you run the risk they won't see you. On the left the side with the driver it's easy for them to check said blind spot.

@Unhappy Happy PiII, the right side blind spot is actually so huge you can fit two full sized cars in it and he wouldn't be able to see them

@generic zombie, also the left side is the passing side. Passing on the right is illegal in a few places and frowned upon everywbere.

@FFCrisisC, when people in the left lane drive slower than the right then they deserve to be passed

@RAM Card, people in the far left are supposed to move over if someone comes up on them. That lanes also only supposed to be for passing. But if everyone drove how they were supposed to we'd see about 90% fewer accidents so why do that?

@FFCrisisC, if someone's in the left going slower or the same speed as the right and wont move over I politely turn on my high beams and ride their ass until they do, politely. That's the new york way.

@Unhappy Happy PiII, it's actually more about turns. Semi's have to take wide turns, and right turns require the driver to pull left a bit. In many cases, they have to almost go into the next lane if the intersection is small. Stupid drivers don't tend to notice turn signals, so they assume the truck isn't turning and try to pass on the right.
