@HeadlessHampster, I do have this conversation with follow Christians and remind some of them they are supposed to act like Christians every day and not just on Sundays. Not often though. But I find people who generally attack Christianity are sheltered and or don't understand the real world very well.

@RogueKnight, regardless of your stance on the topic, I'm not looking to get into a debate about it, but how can you say Christianity is the only religion picked on? Need I remind you of all the Muslim hate going on around the world right now? I would hazard to say that Muslims are getting picked on more right now than Christians.

@Polaroid, but it is a part of Christianity to show kindness and charity to others. If she's not even trying to be kind or compassionate, then she isn't actually practicing the religion and is instead going through the motions of religious action. If she's sinning and showing bitterness against her better judgement and then genuinely repenting and attempting to change her ways, that is religious practice.

@ajr12100, it's why y family left the church, a group of people ran the pastor out o town claiming he wasn't religious enough and then started stealing from the church. They got caught after a few months but the old pastor was already financially ruined and when he asked for help, the church community looked away as his family lost their house and had to move out of state

@HolyCatchphrase, this picture is much too vague for us to actually judge her accurately. But let's say she is taking advantage of Christianity to give herself peace of mind but not actually committing to the beliefs of the bible. If that is true, and she really doesn't care about doing good for others, then she is not convicted about the importance of it and is not an actual Christian.

@George Feeny, true enough. However, as a non Christian, I have a serious problem with a religion that preaches kindness to their fellow man, and then publicly belittles and attacks homosexuals. I have an extreme problem with a religion that preaches against premarital sex and homosexual sex but turns a blind eye to child rape. Christianity is an enormous cult, and I'm sick of Christian holidays being treated as national holidays. I'm sick of Christmas being celebrated for three months, I'm tired of having my own religions holidays treated as sideshows distracting from 'proper holidays', and I'm fed up with stupid people preaching ignorance all over the place. I don't hate Christians. But I do hate Christianity. Just my own two cents worth. Take it or leave it, that's how I feel.

@I Are Lebo, I get that to an extent but the stereotype that all Christians hate homosexuals is no different than any other stereotype. The majority of Christians truly couldn't care less it's mostly older people who have trouble separating the prejudices of their youth even if they are not religious. It's kind of just an excuse people use now to hate Christians is to say they all hate one thing or another. But that's just my two cents I don't think it really matters you dislike Christians and I'm sure you have a very good reason from your own experience so I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just saying it's just a normal prejudice just like all other prejudices
-
@George Feeny, oh, I agree entirely with all of your points. That's the thing. I won't do anything about my prejudices against Christianity. That's where freedom needs to be checked. I am free to dislike Christianity, that is a right that I have. I shouldn't, and as far as I'm concerned, I DON'T have the right to discriminate against Christians. And I understand that these 'haters' are the loud minority, but just like it's the responsibility of reasonable Muslims to reign in the radical Muslims, it's the responsibility of reasonable Christians to reign in the radical ones. Or at least it should be. Progress is being made, and that's a good thing. It needs to keep up.

@George Feeny, to be honest, when I hear the hate filled 'Christians' rant, I don't hate them. I pity them. They've been raised to believe ignorant things by earlier generations that were likewise limited by their parents. They were never taught how to think, so many of them don't. That's why I have a problem with most versions of religion. The idea that so many people are taught not to think for themselves, but merely to believe what they're told. I see it as a crime against humanity. It makes me sad much more than it makes me angry.

You also have to take into account that good is subjective. She may be behaving in a way that makes her seem like a "bad" person to you, but is in fact a "good" person according to her specific beliefs. I agree that each individual person should strive to be kind and understanding towards one another, but labels of "good" and "bad" are merely situational and can change depending on the perspective of the person. I know, weird place to be talking about this.

People like this is the reason why i hate very religious people, they think their going to heaven when they go to church all the time but refuse to help people in need or oppose peope who are gay or bisexual. They yell at those who wear full black, people with percings and tattoos screaming bloody murder that thwy must worship satan because they express themselves
Ohohohoh I feel a flame war comin' on *opens door to storm shelter* QUICK EVERYONE, GET IN! WEVE GOT ICE CREAM AND FULLER HOUSE!
