Hey guys I need some quick advice. Should I work a porn shoot where I am just doing the lighting? I get paid $900 for the gig but I wouldn't know how to tell my parents. Or should I not do it? Or do it and keep it secret? Also i am a college film student. What should I do, my funny pics family?
@MrAlphabetSoup, tell them that you want $500 instead, but want to be in the movie.
@MrAlphabetSoup, though $900 to hold a flashlight it pretty decent money....
@MrAlphabetSoup, do what you feel is the right thing. Anything you feel the need to hide regardless of what it is you should probably think about because you probably feel that way for a reason
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, I just set up lights and wait until the dirty work is done and tear it down. But I just don't want the shame of working on a pornshoot.
@MrAlphabetSoup, I say go for it. Should make for a good story, if nothing else. As for your parents, I'd probably just not say anything to them.
@Mkb617, the only reason I want to hide it is because i never thought my film abilities would take me down the porn path and telling my family that I do sets for. Porn would be weird.
@MrAlphabetSoup, do it, don't put it on your resume, don't tell anyone.
@MoobyNooby, That's what I was thinking
@Mhael, I think ill do that lol
@MrAlphabetSoup, Andy Warhol said everyone does everything to get laid...no shame in working a porn shoot anymore than there should be in lighting a nude model for painting. Art is art and being professional is what you are gwtting paid for..imho.
@Hamjello, porn is a little different than art, like it's still porn. If you need the money and don't participate/watch then it would be a good way to get experience I guess?
@Ted Mosby is a jerk, where is the line drawn between art and porn? What one generation called porn once is now common place on musuems. Subjective at best.
@MrAlphabetSoup, do it
@MrAlphabetSoup, Tell them you got a gig and to not ask questions. In fact, I wouldn't tell your friends even until you've done the shoot. And of course they'll want proof so ask for a picture with the girl and make your friends guess who she is. Makes a cool story for your friends and if your parents ask you can just say she was making a video and paid you to do lighting. Boom. You're welcome.
@MrAlphabetSoup, do it for the best "awkward silence-killing" story at parties. Not to be confused with "ice-breaker".
@MrAlphabetSoup, is this a one time thing or more of a steady job?
@MrAlphabetSoup, I am also a film student. My teachers have told me that everyone they know that has worked in porn had an awful experience and they live to regret it.
@Gatsby, I've never heard people regret it because the money was always good but I heard when people look at it in your portfolio its almost like a blemish on your career. But I've decided not to do it though because it just felt like it went against my morals as a person. Its not that I don't like porn, because who really doesnt, but it's the way the guy talked about the women pissed me off so I decided not to do it.
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, TARDIS! What have I told you about giving advice to people who want to work in the fapping industry?
@MrAlphabetSoup, I mean I'm gonna be in a porn shoot next month so just remind them you could have ended up worse, like me. And no my parents will not know of this.
"The day ish mine!"
Guys, cut @Pikachusmother, a break. They didn't mean to start something here. And don't bombard me with crappie either. Nobody is trying to start any fights here (except Sean Connery of course).
@Ted Mosby is a jerk, Sean Connery doesn't pick fights. He finishes them.
@Ted Mosby is a jerk, Who says he started it? He just finished it.
@Ted Mosby is a jerk, I appreciate it but it's too late
@Ted Mosby is a jerk, Jeez now you are assuming he started it ;-)
Then went home to fück Alex trebeks mom
another father's day without him... i miss you Scary Mike
@Scary Mikey, rip the biggest fp legend.
But that gun metal grey Austin Martin tho.
Plot twist: it was a gay club
@Charlemagne, *beat off
I would believe it more if it said "women"
Too soon? I think this is just poorly timed
@Pikachusmother, why what happened
@frosty licker, Orlando?
@Pikachusmother, yes pls explain
@Pikachusmother, why would anyone assume this picture or that statement had anything to do with what happened in Orlando? Just because it said night club? That's ridiculous it said he beat them not shot them up or killed them
@Mkb617, I didn't assume, I asked
@Pikachusmother, this has literally nothing to do with Orlando
@Barnacle Man, and I'm stupid and oblivious and had no idea so I asked, no need to get your panties in a knot
@Mkb617, you asked if it was too soon and you said it was poorly timed. If you weren't assuming it was Orlando what were you referring too? If you were truly asking a question you would have said something like..... Is that about Orlando? If so it was poorly timed
@Pikachusmother, it's fine, just recently I haven't been on here as much cuz the comments that stir shjt up that doesn't need to be stirred up.
@Pikachusmother, I'll make sure to untie my undergarments
@Barnacle Man, yeah this picture wasn't funny so I asked a question and got bombed
@Pikachusmother, welcome to Funny Pics, where some pics aren't funny, and most comments aren't.
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, well I'm already not in a good mood so yeah
@Pikachusmother, It doesn't help that you used to spam every picture with stupid shjt in attempt to get top comment.
@manbrodude, feel free to move on from the comment through the butt hurt line. But I see something, have a comment I think can make a laugh, and I post it. That's the point.
@manbrodude, never mind, I thought that comment was to me, didn't notice the @ was to him, so sorry for my previous comment.
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, You cool fam, you cool.
@manbrodude, 🍪 peace cookie?
@Pikachusmother, I am done with all of this argument and if I hurt anyone's feelings I am sorry but like I accidentally replies to myself. You weren't asking a question. Your final words that it was poorly timed turned what you said into a statement. If you were truly asking a question you wouldn't have said that
@Pikachusmother, I LOVE YOU DAD. Sorry the meanies got to you :(
@Mkb617, "I think" doesn't make the whole thing a statement. It just means their opinion is that it's poorly timed. It's like saying "does anyone want ice cream? I think I want ice cream." Does saying the last part mean that everyone wants ice cream? No.
@Sir LancesALot, doesn't that still make it a statement? Regardless of if its fact or opinion it's still their statement lol
@Barnacle Man, Orlando Bloom beat up Bieber once
@Sir LancesALot, do you not understand the words he used? First he says he thinks it was poorly timed. Then later after he gets some grief about it he tries to say he was just asking. When you say that you think something is a certain way, that would be a statement you are making regarding that subject
@Richard Cypher, I meant that it doesn't make the "too soon" a statement. The "I think" is a statement. Not the "too soon."
@Mkb617, First he asked a question, then he made a personal statement. If he said "too soon? This is just poorly timed" then ya, it would make the question rhetorical, but the fact that he used an opinion, makes the question still there. Saying he didn't ask a question is just false.
@Sir LancesALot, I never said he didn't ask a question at all. If I was to say to my girlfriend. Are you being a bitch? I think you are being a bitch. That is me making a definite statement. I couldn't just later turn around and say well gee I want saying anything I was just asking a question
@Mkb617, that isn't that great an analogy, saying "I think you're being a bitch" is an insult and no one asks someone if they are being a bitch, unless it's an insult. A better analogy would be "do we have a quiz tomorrow? I think we have a quiz tomorrow" which is still a question, just with a inconclusive statement at the end. Which is how many questions are asked. "Do you like blue? I think blue is a great color." "Is this a nuclear missile coming this way? I think that-..."
@Sir LancesALot, you are right my analogy was bad but so is yours you are talking about a concrete thing.. If there is a quiz or not. He asked if something that may or may not be a certain way was indeed that way and then he stated that he believed it was that way. When you ask if something is one way or another that would make it a question. But then you immediately say that you believe it is one way then it becomes a statement. Anyways I respect what you are trying to say I just disagree. Have a great day
@Mkb617, also, his question assumes the picture is about Orlando, and his statement further underscores that assumption. He's not being bombed for asking if something is too soon. He's being bombed for assuming the pic is about Orlando - and getting sensitive about it (to put it nicely) - when the pic had nothing to do with what he was "sensitive" about.
@King Spunkmonkey, I know that. If you read the first reply I made I asked him why anyone would assume it was about Orlando. I only said anything else after he tried to back track and pretend that wasn't what he was saying
@Mkb617, yeah, but your later explanations were kind of vague on that point - which is that the question he says he asked was as much, or more of a statement itself, rather than a question. Sir LancesALot seems to be having some trouble on that point.
@King Spunkmonkey, the point I was trying to make, and yes I made a bad analogy at one point was that when you say something along the lines of...is this thing this way? I think it is that way..... The entirety of what you are saying is now a statement. Once you state your opinion on how it is you can't turn around and say the whole thing was meant as a question. The original posters statement taken as a whole said that he believed the post was poor timing yet. Yet when given grief he tried to say he was only asking a question. The fist part of what he said was just a question but then when he answers that question it turns the post as a whole into a statement of his opinion
@Mkb617, I know what you were trying to say. I agree with you and I was trying to make a supporting statement, that hopefully provides further clarification of the point you're making
Fun Fact: Sean Connery wore a hair piece for all of the Bond movies. He started going bald at a young age.
