Good guy Tesla
@Z0mbieP0ny, and scumbag Edison. (Seriously tho, Edison was basically the reason tesla died poor)
@Strider1321, check out that drunk history on them it's one of the better ones that was on comedy Central
Edison laughing mah hahahahahahahahah money money money mah hahahahahahahahahah
@cobalt balls, that's true. Edison was a jerk. If you were working for him and you made an invention he wouldn't let you patent it in your name. He would patent it in his name to get the credit.
@cobalt balls, Edison had an apprentice you know and that was Tesla who completely rejected his ideals and the alternating current itself saying it was too dangerous leading him to break off and become extremely successful
@ElectricalFire, if you work for anyone now a days, if you invent something that's close to the industry you're in, you're not allowed to make money off of it or patent it.
@meNoP, that's true it's in any contract you sign when you get hired
@ElectricalFire, like the lightbulb so sick of people saying it took Edison many tries to invent the lightbulb
@LAVARAMEN, you know he died penniless and alone right? Tesla was not a "extremely successful" man. If he had been successful in the economy he was trying to work in he would have had to been more like Edison. Edison was successful
@MOBEAR, I got the first part right though. Right?
@MOBEAR, that's all that matters then because that's the only solid info I had.
This man is one of my heroes
@benderama, Me too. He's one of my primary inspirations to study engineering.
I don't mind having this glorious man in our funny pics, even if the pic isn't funny he deserves respect
He deserves credit! Sir shouldn't we put his name on the meme.... Blasphemy!!!!
*cough*his death ray was useless
Fun fact I know how to build one of tesla's deathrays. Its a lighning gun.
@Brotherhood of Steel, link to instructions please. For science. (Insert evil laugh)
I am still convinced he was a time traveler from the future.
WHO IS HE! I would like to praise his name as I stand in front of my AC now.
@Me Oh My, I can't tell if you're serious but that's Nikola Tesla and it's all true. He doesn't get any credit which is just sad. He was a great man and a great inventor.
@Me Oh My, but you know he's Nikola Tesla, right?
@Me Oh My, when it says AC. It's not referring to air conditioning. The AC they are referring to is alternating current the other form of DC or direct current. Hence the term AC/DC
@Me Oh My, its Thomas Edison
@Good Ol Days, he's Serbian of course he doesn't get any credit.
@Doc Holliday, and together, tesla and Edison used their knowledge to form a metal band called AC/DC.
@I am the potato, it's Nikola Tesla. Inventor of such things as the tesla coil
@Me Oh My, he invented the new tesla hybrid car
@Old Crusty Fap Sock, i know, i was making a joke...thomas Edison was the one who not only made it hard for Tesla to prove his invention was grand, he stole it in the end and profitted off of it.
@Me Oh My, AC as in alternating current not air conditioning
Haha, that was a funny one
Pretty sure most of this isn't true
@Robenstein, it is. He didn't push a lot of his invintions forward after inventing them though so they'd just sit there. Eventually other people would be able to recreate it on their own but he truly was a genius who created our world today.
@BubblegumFive83, yea some things are misleading however, like his free wireless energy scheme that everyone goes on about was never going to work
@BubblegumFive83, I didn't mean that he didn't make important inventions, just that the claims the picture makes are untrue. Such as he was pissed when someone used his patents and took them to court over it, he never created a death ray, he didn't invent or discover X-Rays or radio or radar but he did make some things which were important for the development of them. And his lack of credit is his own fault for making such outlandish, unsubstantiated claims which would destroy the credibility of any scientist at any point in time.
@Robenstein, he also held the patent to any A/C motors that were ever built but destroyed it
Buuuuuuuttttttttttt he looks funny so we should just make fun of him
@password123, bro, dude looks like a Calvin Klein model, early 20th century edition.
I cried legit
was a blatant eugenicist though, had a pigeon for a best friend, thought said pigeon could see the future...
Anyone else thinking of the Oatmeal's Tesla thing?
And yet throughout this whole post his name was not mentioned once
Tesla was an amazing guy. As an engineer, I look up to him. We need more people like him. If companies and individuals cared more about inventing and making the world better and less about profits, shareholders and ripping people off, we probably would have much better technology.
FVCK Marconi and Edison
Did he invent the X-ray machine? Maybe he discovered X-rays? He couldn't invent a naturally occurring event.
The Enclave in Fallout 3 use Tesla Power Armor.
Just because he wanted electricity to be free doesn't mean it was possible...
The last station on the northern line in London is Mordern. I didn't know Tesla invented that
@Unkle77, wow I had to double check that typo. I completely missed it
I bet he did all of that know that, one day, there would be an app for dank memes.
And Leonardo Da Vinci? Kinda think he one ups him invention wise
