@Repost Lord, the fate series such as fate/zero and fate/ stay night were good. Darker than black, gangsta, mirai nikki, and jormungand. Those are all action/ thriller. For comedy i enjoyed gintama, and beelzebub, as well as arakawa under the bridge. I dont watch alot of slower kinda slice of life anime, but flying witch and barakamkn were good. And i dont really like mecha but aldnoah zero and heavy object i liked.

@Repost Lord, For short shows: Welcome to the NHK, Elfen Lied, Terror in Resonance, Hellsing, Deathnote, Noragami, Your Lie in April, Highschool of the Dead (Not as good as the others in this series but entertaining and many titties.), Deadman Wonderland, and Sword Art Online. Movies: Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Grave of the Fireflies (keep tissues on hand and be ready to cry.), Spirited Away, Princess Momonoke, Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, Perfect Blue, Sword of The Stranger, Ninja Scroll, Redline, Berserk (All the Golden Age Arcs, expect more crying.), Summer Wars, and Wolf Children. Series that gone on for several seasons: One Piece (amazing but stupidly long, the series is a bit more than halfway and it already has nearly a thousand chapters.), Tokyo Ghoul, Dragonball, DragonBall Z, DragonBall GT, Hunter X Hunter, Naruto Shonen Jump, Naruto Shippuden, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Fairy Tail, Samurai Shamploo, Psycho-Pass, Black Lagoon (hardcore as fvck),

@Repost Lord, Kill la Kill (Awesome but perverted to an annoying point), Gundam (All of them), Attack on Titan, Bleach, Soul Eater, Inuyasha, and Trigun. Manga (The real meat and potatoes, trust me): Berserk (unfinished but a bloody gory masterpiece), Deadman Wonderland (the anime is good but strays far from the manga), Vagabond, One Piece (just in case you don't wanna sit and watch the 200+ hours of show), Golgo 13, Fist of the North Star, The Prince of Tennis, Slam Dunk, Kenichi Worlds Strongest Disciple (pretty pervy but it has actual martial arts so it's pretty cool.), Initial D, Rurouni Kenshin, Gintama, Appleseed, Lone Wolf and Cub(Classic), Uzumaki, and again I'm gonna say One Piece because it's my favorite! (Although it'll take you a couple months to catch up) :)

@Repost Lord, this is all the anime ive watched and i liked all of them: Deadman Wonderland (warning beforehand that the shoe never had a second season so the end isnt that satisfying), Parasyte the Maxim, and Hunter X Hunter. I've seen brief episodes of Mitchigo and Hatchin, Iron Blooded Orphans, Samurai Champloo (seen maybe half the seried), Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Lagaan, and DBZ Kai. I liked what I've seen of them, but haven't seen enough to fully recommend all of them. On another note, i watch dub since i watch most of my shows on Closed Captions to concentrate and the Japanese versions mess me up too much.
Unrelated note: does anyone have anime to watch? I have a growing list of about 70 and I figured I might as well ask you guys.
