I had to look up what this was even referencing. So I did forget.
@Qrow, what is it referencing
@Assassinator2399, TELL ME I MUST HAVE KNAWLEDGE
@Assassinator2399, somebody pretended that a kid was trapped in a ufo balloon that got blown away
@Qrow, ok I remember now. Yeah I guess most did forget
@Doctor Walrus, balloon boy.
@Qrow, it was a weather balloon... and it happened here in Colorado...
@Qrow, had to look it up also...it wasn't covered where I live at all.
@Qrow, lamo I live in the town where this happened. And I will never forget that time he the day I was first given cancer by someone's stupid
The day a kid won hide and seek
I hope we forget
@spellcheck, so does balloon boy and his family.
I thought it was a Roswell reference... Then I thought there aren't 15 months in a year then I realised I was stoned and English, and all was right with the world again..
@I Dexios Divine I, the balloon boy hoax, it's actually quite funny. Some parents reported to authorities that their kid was in a homemade balloon that was reaching dangerous altitude and traveling really far. It got to a point where it became an international story, until the balloon landed and the boy wasn't inside. After searching the area thinking the boy might have fallen out, and finding nothing, people started to think it was a fake. Later the boy was found in the attic of his home, and when interviewed basically said that the parents told him to hide up there "for the show".
@Ted Mosby is a jerk, I thought it was so they could get a show.
@notMrWonka, it was. They wanted a reality tv show or something stupid
@RustyFapwagon, They got a few mildly funny pedobear-themed pictures on here, and that's kinda the same, right?
@Ted Mosby is a jerk, I'm Canadian and I never heard about this story ever. I thank you for your explanation but apparently it wasn't good enough news for my part of Canada.
@TheOneWhoArrestedYou, yeah, if I remember right there weren't any moose involved, so I guess major Canadian media outlets wouldn't care :/
@Ted Mosby is a jerk, it was actually really sad, because after he said that, he would just start crying and get really sick any time he was asked about it... Suggesting that the parents "weren't happy" with what he had said.
I can't believe it's been 7 years... feels like only 5.
All I thought was why is there a 15th month
I didn't realize it happen on my bday
Fun fact since this publicity stunt didn't work the parents tried to regenerate interest by putting all their sons together in a "metal" band. Look up "Balloon Boy No Hoax" on YouTube (and have bleach at the ready)
I heard about it all like 3 hours after it happened and I sure don't remember where I was.
i put this out of my mind as well, when it happened all i thought was, dumb*ss kid, dumb*ss parents, who cares?
