Waiter, theres politics in my funnypics again.
@ApparitionSpy, Waiter: "I'm sorry sir we are all out of funny pics we might have some repost if you would prefer?"
@Hammer O jo, i only prefer the spiciest of memes
@ApparitionSpy, spicy memes are a hate symbol now. Pepe is literally the logo of the Nazi KKK white nationalists.
I mean, CNN said it, so it must be true!
You do realize the president can't just nuke a country, Congress has to declare war and then it has to be a the last option. Does she think Trump could just walk over to a console and blow a country off the earth?
@CrazyRightWinger, I'm pretty sure 98% of Americans think that there's a big red button labeled "nuke" on a desk in the Oval Office that the president can just push whenever he wants to start WW3.
@Funnypics Toilet, and no one remembers like a month ago Hillary pointed out a man in the crowd that had the codes
@CrazyRightWinger, I think they can Actually. They have a nuclear suitcase on them at all times, that can trigger launch the nukes. It's a cold war era relic, but it's Definitely real. I was reading up on it the other day, and never was their a mention of approval.
The approval is electing someone you trust to not act brashly. Neither Trump not Hillary can be trusted outright in my book. Honestly, I don't trust anyone with that kind of power
@KingofFunnypics, well seeing that we are on the verge of war with Russia and Trump wants to make peace and Hillary and Obama want to antagonize Putin I know what side I'm on.
@CrazyRightWinger, meh... I'd prefer new candidates but... Yeah. Trump has a cool head under pressure. He makes tactical decisions that cut losses, and or create the greatest gains. Hillary has a repeated track record of screwing up under pressure.
@CrazyRightWinger, heard something recently about it, saying that there's like 3 minutes between the president giving the order and the people carrying them out. In an emergency situation, there's no time for congress.
@CrazyRightWinger, old saying goes, "you dont poke the sleeping bear". And obama has a full auto stick launcher and is useing it 24/7
@Funnypics Toilet, what idiots, everyone knows the button is blue.
@CrazyRightWinger, Actually, the president can launch w/o congress' approval.
@KingofFunnypics, "trump has a cool head under pressure" hahahahahahahaha
@CrazyRightWinger, don't need to declare war to move troops, order drone strikes and blockade nations. Don't need to declare war to drop nuclear weapons either. If nukes were launched at the US, you think we'd wait for Congress to formally declare war before shooting back?
Congress declaring war is a relic of an older time, war is now basically controlled by the executive branch.
@Liquid Stuff, you can't discount one person's flaws and overdue another's. Hillary is a political mastermind. Given time she does well. But under pressure she cracks, as shown by benghazi and her emails. Trump is a business man that has only a profit motive. Everyone cites Atlantic city as his great failure. And yet he came away with loads of money. Bankruptcy is a part of business. Only profit matters. He wheels and deals quite well, and seems to handle things to his benefit in the past. As president that will switch to America's benefit. He's not good. Neither is Hillary. But in my humble opinion, Trump will break more than Hillary, but also leave us better off than Hillary will.
@Funnypics Toilet, I bet there actually is a button - it's not linked to anything, they just put it there to see how the President will react.
@CrazyRightWinger, you do realize they have about 30 days to do whatever they want right? Then congress decides whether to keep funding it or not. They could nuke of they wanted to.
@CrazyRightWinger, you do realize that the president can perform acts of war for 40 days without the approval of congress? That includes the nuclear option
@Iswearimfunny, it's not really a relic. Yes the president can take measures to protect the nation or troops in the case of an attack, but once that immediate threat is dealt with he is supposed to ask congress to declare war before making any further moves.
@Captain Anderson, intervene for a limited time? Yes. Fire off a nuclear weapon just because? No.
@KingofFunnypics, rofl how is that logical at all? Trump is a good business man so he can help run the gov better? That's like saying a good soccer player can play football just as well. How does being able to make money equal having good judgement to run a country...
@I Dexios Divine I, his business side can help the economy and his advisors can help him with the rest
@CrazyRightWinger, so make him a puppet with only one thing to do. Sound way to run a country there
@I Dexios Divine I, I can't resist, I thought soccer was another name for football?? :)
@KingofFunnypics, You honestly believe that would switch to America's benefit? I suppose the people that lost their drops during his bankruptcies also believe that he would drop what benefits him most to benefit America instead. By the way that was sarcasm.
@KingofFunnypics, I haven't decided who I am voting for yet. But I don't believe Trump would be good for us internationally. We are already seen as arrogant assholes internationally and really don't need to add to it by having Trump as president. Remember the president is supposed to represent the people and his attitude of that self entitled asshole that he is is not good for our image. No since losing even more allies because he can't stop running his mouth for a few minutes. At first I liked that he spoke what a lot of people were thinking. Then he continued to speak and run his mouth about things that didn't need to be said. There's a time and place to speak your mind. Sometimes being polite is what should be done.
@KingofFunnypics, Plus I don't trust anyone whos campaign runs on make America great again. Or Let's save America. Because when they say things like that it has me wondering who are we saving it from? The only reason America is the way it is, is because Captialism and American freedom brought us to this point. So America is exactly what it's always wanted to be.
@I Dexios Divine I, you chose a bad example. A fit soccer player can put a large variety of their skills into football. Athleticism, ball tracking, rapid motion changes, ect. Most sports have skills that carry over. I think Trump would be good for president for the same reasons I think a former general might be. (I do not dare to compare the sacrifices of the military to business. I mearly mean that Business is also stressful.)
@Seohn, all I can say is that I am in college for a business degree. Everything I have learned leads me to say that if I were Donald Trump, I would do the same. The business does not care about its employees. It cares about survival. Its prime directive is to minimize loss and increase gains. Trump saw a brief opportunity for profit and grabbed it.
@Seohn, nah, Trump probably won't be good for our image. But Hillary won't be very good either. America needs a strong leader that can't be pushed around, and doesn't push buttons that don't need pushing. Trump is Half of that. Hillary is none of that. She will give far to much and take to little. Also... I hate to say it but she is a women. I have traveled alot. Most places would laugh at a female politician. I'm certain ISIS will use it as propaganda. (not that we should take advice from ISIS
@Seohn, It is a rather common slogan. Why make America Great again? When we're we not great.
Arguably, I'd say we lost it mid cold war. We have the highest rates globally of Obesity and murder. Also, our infrastructure is decaying rapidly.
So yeah. America needs to be made "great" again.
On the other hand... I don't know if I personally see a future with America in it. I see us as the Father who gave the best life he could too his children and himself. Soon he should retire and let his kids take the stage. China will be the First of them. India, and many more shall follow.
@KingofFunnypics, pushing numbers to maximize profits is not the same as being a leader. Even in a capitalist country, if you think more money will make our country better than you're just as naive as the dumbasses who think no guns no problem or that free college will fix everything. None of are leaders to be are even marginally close to what we need. Vote for trump, who cares. In the end well make zero progress with a leader who's only good at one thing.
@I Dexios Divine I, yeah. These choices suck. My point is to say Trump is ever so slightly better than Hillary on issues that are realistic and matter. But it's still the difference between eating a turd and a turd with sugar on top. Both are not good options.
Figures, this is my first election, and they both suck.
@Iswearimfunny, congressional approval and recommendations relating to war is in the Constitution but G.W. (OG GW) set the precedence for not giving a damn what they think and being the US military commander in chief.
@Oujosh29, OK so I've heard both sides of this and I looked at it. it is allowed for the president to launch without warning and without reason, however there is a chain of command, and the order to fire can't be refused by the people in the chain of command. So yes the president can launch without the approval of Congress or anyone, but other members of the government could stop him
@Captain Anderson, sorry, the order can be refused, voice to text is sorta sh*tty
@Captain Anderson, as one last little caveat, the president is a however allowed to fire the secretary of defense, who is the person who can refuse him and keep going down the chain of command until he finds someone who will approve it.
I know every ones gonna hate me for this but I'm just gonna say it: I didn't think the harry potter books were as deep as they're given credit for. Rowling is a great writer, but she still seems incredibly overrated to me
@Shentei Zei, good books for simple minds, with some deeper plot lines for those who seek them.
I don't know if anyone agrees, but I feel like when you have a great reputation for something, especially art or entertainment, it's typically better to keep away from political statements
@PickUpDaSope, why is that?
@PickUpDaSope, Its kind of a responsibility, not to sway people's opinions in something like this.
@notMrWonka, because we use our entertainment and art to distract ourselves from the world Sometimes and we look at these people like jk Rowling and has such massive respect for their creativity and willingness to allow us to join their worlds, but when they begin to involve themselves in politics it just seems to invite and unwanted aspect
@PickUpDaSope, Who are we to judge?
@PickUpDaSope, while I understand what you're saying, being famous shouldn't exclude them from sharing their opinion anymore than it should anyone else. I would hope people would be big enough to distinguish between the art she makes and her as a person. The two don't necessarily have to coincide
@PickUpDaSope, @TheWhiteWolf, the dirty jobs guy actually wrote a letter about this subject and i feel like you two might enjoy reading it.
Get this unfunny junk off of funnypics. I was a 9gag user for 2 years and left because this kind of crap overwhelms it now. Please don't sink this ship with political junk and personal opinions of others
Just present the twitter posts
tfw Hillary is more likely to go to war with Russia than Trump
@Imperial Goat, she's guaranteed to start one. The only question is whether it will escalate into a nuclear one.
@Doctor Krieger, we can only hope Russia has mercy on us. We'll lose a war with them, but everyone will lose if it goes nuclear
@Doctor Krieger, just wait, the old duck and cover videos are gona have to start popping up again if she is elected.
@Firecracker Jim, as stupid as those were then, modern nukes are way scarier than 50s and 60s nukes
Then you realize hillary is probably worse, delete the codes in an email or something....
@Jtlightning2, The codes should be safe from ever getting emailed. They're highly classified.
@HiroAntagonist, I can't tell if you're being serious or not.
@HiroAntagonist, and they used to be 00000000.
That response wasn't beautiful, it was stupid, and it certainly wasn't funny. I thought funny pics had to be at least a little funny.
When your a bad writer and no longer relevant you do what you can to stay in the public light
@Masta Roshi, she's far from the first.
I really don't care about famous peoples politics.
Why was her response beautiful? This is a woman who writes fiction and made a billion dollars off of it. Somehow, like every other starving artist who finally makes it and is well off than the rest of us, they're somehow wiser than us about everything? This is the kind of person that should pull a Robin Williams...
Seriously people it doesn't matter who is president neither can just decide to launch a nuke. They can declare a war sure but really that's about it and even then if you have no reason other than someone personally angered you for war you will be impeached no question asked. Both suck both will try to start a war for a stupid reason. Yea trumps a blow hard doesn't mean he can actually do anything about it
I bet jk rowling doesnt know the first thing about trump besides what she hears her sjw friends say about him on social media. She just virtue signals shes been virtue signalling for decades and she will keep doing so
HHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Damn that was funny.
Man and woman are interchangeable at this point
So let me make this whole election very real and serious to a lot of you by reminding you that the draft is still in affect. So when you choose your political candidate when you go to vote ask yourself if you're willing to fight a war for them. Because there's a very real possibility you or your children who are close to age could be drafted into that war.
Neither candidate is good. I personally believe that Trump will piss off our allies and then piss off our enemies and start a war. But then again Hillary might too. However she's less likely to piss off our allies I think. Either way I'll be looking very hard at Independents.
So when going to vote this year remember, this could be a life and death vote for you and your children. When World War III starts be sure you're willing to fight and die for your chosen president.
By the way the reason our allies are important is because if we lose the support of our allies our enemies are more likely to strike. And that is the beginning of a much larger war.
WHAT? AN OPINION???
Pretty sure we saw that tweet on here
Don't mind me... just... waiting for the triggered Trump fans
Trump's easy to manipulate? He's been manipulating Hillary all year
