Uhmmm I heard drinking it gets rid of it too.
@Chuck Shurley , natural selection at its finest
@Chuck Shurley , the kidneys do a really good job filtering it out
@Virulentprion, I thought everyone knew kidneys were the bodies natural oil filter
@Chuck Shurley , I think the knowledge deficit is caused by our failing school system
@Chuck Shurley , I always thought it was the liver. But you're saying a good night out can be engine oil AND pure ethyl alcohol? I no longer have to choose??
@The Eye of the Hawk, nah bruh... We can always do better.
Works even better if your hole's near your well.
Why not use cat litter then scoop it up and garbage bag it
@dategrape, that's how I clean up oil leaks.
@dategrape, Because that's a correct way. Well with spills..... Hey BP!...
Life was so much easier back in the day
Thanks Popular Science! You're the best!! 👍
Why is this funny?
@becauseb00bs, for one, this is illegal now
@becauseb00bs, because you touch yourself at night.
@becauseb00bs, like they said, it's illegal. Oddly used motor oil is great fertilizer. But if it get into your water supply, yah you're losing some brain cells. It's just bad for the environment.
My dad works at a recycling plant where they extra the metal scrapings from used motor oil and the use the remainder as fuel for their furnace.
Who calls a shovel a pothole digger?
@Johny Manziel, posthole digger is a different tool entirely you idiot.
@TheMaggotSolaire, Einstein was an idiot when it came to digging holes for posts, don't be a tool.
@TheHippie52, well it's a good thing we aren't talking about Einstein then.
@TheHippie52, I'm gonna need some citation about Einstein's knowledge of digging equipment. (Also I'm not sure if you're use of the word "tool" was an intended pun, but either way I approve of it).
@Vesrox, *your (damn swipe text)
@Vesrox, pun is always intended, not enough to save me from the dreaded downvote tho
This is a French drain. Commonly used for water drainage where it's impractical to tie into plumbing and in small amounts. Ex: AC condensation line in old homes.
The more you know! *Rainbow*
Most people today think this is crazy. Back in the 60s and before, when tens of thousands people were doing this, the ground could absorb the oil and no harm would be done. Today, when millions of people would be doing this, the ground couldnt absorb it fast enough, and an environmental disaster would occur.
