@QuinnB, just the POTUS cannot solve our issues in the US. Our issues aren't just political as well buy are deeper, culture, educational, and spiritual. (Just an aside I'm not someone who forces religious beliefs down someone's throat, I am a panentheist who believes in spiritual decline through our actions because of religion)

@sexyvampireprincess, um... I'm sorry. We literally just got rid of a president who clearly didn't care about any Americans and who sent 221 million dollars to Palestine on his last day instead of... idk... ever doing anything about Flint, Michigan. He didn't do anything for you either and you know d@mn well Hillary would have screwed over young people way more. Get over yourself. Stop listening to fake news
-
@A Studly Muffin, how is it fake news when they all say the same thing. I look at multiple sources to get. No one said Obama was perfect but I don't want my future f-ed over and my future kids having a bad childhood because of the choices he and his cabinet make in office. I want to stay optimistic but all he's doing and saying so far are making it very hard.
-
@sexyvampireprincess, it's fake news when they only report the facts that's me their side look better. Like if I told you that I was going to give you a million dollars you'd be really excited. It's just that the part that I left out is that it's somewhere at the bottom of the ocean but I'm not exactly sure where. Did you know that people getting too many mortgages that they couldn't afford was what caused the housing crisis in '08? Interesting extra part that they left out. And again. Ask yourself what Hillary would have actually done in these situations before you go and make snap judgements about these things without all of the facts

@Pal From Stupidtown, ah. Can't take a joke. Typical leftist. I'll debate you on policy if that's what you really want. Can you first address why the president of the US didn't do anything about one of the largest cities in the state of Michigan not having drinkable water for YEARS under his administration? There are mean women and children there that actually need help and he did nothing. He made sure to get things done that were in the interest of his donors though. TPP, Palestine, etc.
-
@A Studly Muffin, I don't care about the joke, that's why I made my username a joke. The point is that you don't have a legitimate response. On the topic of water in Flint, the state regulators decided around two years ago that they didn't need to treat the water for lead. They didn't find out about it until October 2015. Obama isn't a magician, he can't wave a wand make the water safe to drink in a little over a year. That's the job of the city and state to build chemical treatment plants and it takes time to design and implement them. I'm more centrist than leftist, wasn't a huge fan of the TPP
-
@Pal From Stupidtown, here's the thing though. The president does have this thing similar to a magic wand that can be waved in emergencies. It's called a "State of Emergency". Not having drinkable water falls into the category of an emergency. When they declare a state of emergency, the federal government gets involved (typically FEMA). They could have already solved this crisis or at least put in place a way to get clean water to these people until something was done. There are literally children who are getting permanent brain damage because nothing has been done yet. It's insanity and the former president prioritized campaigning for the losing presidential candidate over those children's wellbeing. It is inexcusable
-
@A Studly Muffin, I'm glad you feel so passionately for these people. I do also but like...this terrible ordeal now only lives on in side effects of those kids who got brain damage and people who have scars from the lead poisoning. The water has been cleaned and I hope justice is served. Blaming Obama is a big f*cking stretch. It was definitely local gov't on the state level and below that let these people get poisoned
-
@NoWay007, first: the water still isn't completely fixed. You still can't walk up to any naked tap and get water out of it without risking lead poisoning. Meaning there has to be a filter on it still. Second: they only announced that the water was better yesterday. Far beyond a reasonable time limit. Third: how can you possibly accuse me of partisanship when you still didn't have all the facts. Even the New York Times reported that the issue isn't really fixed yet. I don't believe in disagreements. One side just has more facts than the other and you obviously aren't on that side. It takes an open mind and a little bit of logic to ask important questions and poke holes in the BS that you're going to get from most media. They want people to keep fighting and they want more protests and riots because it makes for more entertaining news that will keep you sitting on your butt seeing those ads.
-
@A Studly Muffin, I really don't see how anyone can say that any president doesn't care about any americans and not have a partisan bias. So yes, you still haven't convinced me you have a partisan bias. Secondly, I believe that whoever is replacing the line is doing a good job. The original plan for just switching Flint's water supply was supposed to be done by now. With the fact that they now had to replace miles of ancient lead piping it's very surprising that they still finished that part within a year. If I were in Flint though, I'd have a hard time trusting the tap again. I never said the problem in Flint was fixed, it'll always be a very big problem because of all the damage done to public health there. What I'm saying is they're still getting help and they probably will be getting help for the rest of their lives and are getting help still. And I can't believe you think replacing miles of lead piping can be done very quickly. I think the time it took is very acceptable
