Wouldn't it be amazing if we found out one of those fake God Twitter accounts was actually God communicating with us in a way he thought we would actually understand.
@Mr Literal, I know on facebook the god page was verified as the "real" god but too many people complained and it was removed
@Mr Literal, that would actually be kinda awesome
I'm a Christian and I approve of this
@Ajunta Pall, I'm not but same
@Ajunta Pall, Same. Fake Christians give Christianity a bad name. People's views become fogged by bigots, hypocrites, and people who misinterpret religious teachings and reorganize them to their own benefit.
@LT PUNK ROCKET, So you're referring to every christian ever? Im not trying to offend anyone, but every single christian i've met or spoke to cherry picks the bible. Not all are bigots or assholes, but many are hypocrites
@K1lgore, I'm not referring to every Christian ever. I'm Christian. I don't cherry pick. A lot are in fact hypocritical, but honestly speaking every religion has its share of hypocrites.
@LT PUNK ROCKET, I don't know you personally, but im 99% sure you cherry pick to at least some degree. Living in the western world in the 21st century, it is nearly impossible to actually follow the rules of the bible just because of outdated most of it is. Following some of the rules such as stoning your child for disrespecting you or being rebellious (In Deuteronomy 21:18). Yes that's from the New Testament and no it's not taken out of context. So im sure you do cherry pick. There are many others im just too lazy to find them all, just look it up or go through the bible, there are plenty of others similar to that.
@K1lgore, Deuteronomy is from the Old Testament and Jesus came not preaching to kill or to hate, but to Love everyone, even in their faults.
@The Last King, You believe this because....? The bible says so? Lemme guess, you believe the bible because the bible says so?
@K1lgore, You believe in these things a by choice. And you know when put in that perspective, I probably do cherry pick. But I'm more referring to people who overly judgmental, that harass people for their beliefs or their ways and call themselves "righteous" just because they're "Christian" when in truth they're the lowest of people. You're supposed be helpful and uplifting, never judgment or insulting. Clearly this isn't something everyone can do, but assaulting some one because they do something, or believe in something that a god they don't believe in, is wrong. Both in the teaching you swear you follow, and in natural human decency. @The Last King is correct though. Stoning stopped in the New Testament with Christ, basically he stopped a woman from being stoned, and said that no being on earth has the right to stone any one, because everyone is already guilty all the same. When he came here he loved his enemies Mathew 5:43. He didn't fight them.
@K1lgore, Christianity as a whole is to live a Christ like life, something many seem to forget. Christ didn't judge people for not believing in him, nor for being sinners, and he didn't errect million dollar churches. But "Christians" have. That's the Hypocrisy I'm referring to.
And yes. We believe these things because the Bible says so. Because naturally we base our religion off the Bible. Just like Islam bases itself off of the Quran. They believe those things because it's what their teachings say.
@LT PUNK ROCKET, Okay, I understand your point, but why exactly do you believe this stuff happened? The only "evidence" is the bible, but it's just a book. It's just like if any other book like harry potter for example, was taken seriously. It's just a book written by a few dudes in the dessert thousands of years ago. Just like J.K rowling wrote Harry Potter.
@K1lgore, Faith. Simply put. You believe in it because you want to. You just have faith that it exists. Proof doesn't exist. More over were even told it never will. Because our God asks us to just have faith. Through my life though, things have happened to me that make me believe I have personal proof, or something that proves it to my logical half, but that's not the kinda of proof you can offer others because it's yours and others will have to develop their own proofs. But also I'd like to believe in something rather than nothing. But as a human it's every ones right disagree with me and you know what?, that's ok. The worlds not going to end because you see Blue and I see Red.
@LT PUNK ROCKET, Im not trying to be a smartass or anything this is a genuine question - why do you believe your religion is the true one, when there are (give or take) 4000 other ones that claim to be true as well. Isn't it a coincidence that out of all the religions you could've been born into, it happened to be the "right" one? Just as if you were born into a hindu family, you would follow hinduism instead. And any of that proof you have experienced yourself, you would credit it to the hindu god(s) instead of the christian god.
@K1lgore, No it wouldn't give them any credit personally because a good number of those proofs are instant unnatural responses to prayer, and I've not prayed to any Hindu god. I have thought about that though, but I'd like to believe that if there is infact a god, they're merciful enough to send some one to lead me in the right direction and -no one as of yet has asked me to abandoned my beliefs for theirs- but I was agnostic for a time in my life, and things happened that brought me back to my own, a perfect time for some one to lead me else where, but no one did. And if I die and I'm met with a god that I don't know, I hope they're merciful enough to give me a way to do right by them. If not, then they can send me to hell, because I don't want any part of a god unwilling to give me a fair trial when I'm willing to try. As well, if I die and I'm met with nothing, and god doesn't exist, then I don't think I've wasted my life trying to be morally correct. I'll die without regret of my
@LT PUNK ROCKET, choice in faith.
Lol I found the character limit, so now know that exists
So I don't really post too often but my first really serious boyfriend just broke up with me and it's hitting pretty hard. I just wanted to say that it's nice to know that such a wonderful community such as this will always be here to invoke laughter in the toughest times.
Now I'm gonna go eat a gallon of ice cream with vodka until I pass out. Have a nice day/night!
@Doctors Daughter, try mixing the vodka and ice cream.
Also don't listen to me because I have no idea what I'm doing.
@Doctors Daughter, enjoy the ice cream but skip the booze. Solves nothing and often makes stuff worse.
@Bob8619, I'm not looking for a solution, just something to forget the question.
@Bob8619, eh, alcohol can be nice to just get rid of the thinking portion. Just use it wisely, too much and it will make things much worse.
@Doctors Daughter, You'll still remember it once you sober up. Prolonging the inevitable is all it does. Drinking to not feel a certain way is how you end up becoming a drunkard
@Doctors Daughter, Can't speak for everyone. But i don't forget when I drink. I just get super emotional. cry and stuff. and then i start to drink and cry more
@Doctors Daughter, I feel your pain, I hope you start feeling better soon!
@Doctors Daughter, don't pass out! It's not good for you!
@Doctors Daughter, Yeah, don't hit the booze too hard. Maybe just a little bit, but don't go get yourself wasted. Surround yourself with friends, family, and keep busy. I know it's rough, but you'll be just fine.
@Doctors Daughter, You're not alone, dude. Just stay strong. We'll always have your back
We should all have a movie night and watch Monty python and the holy grail
I'm profoundly offended they haven't made a mega man game on these new game consoles
* scowls. Being from a semi mega church that has built homeless shelters feeds and clothes them, built an HIV shelter for the shunned just in the past year. Not lukewarm and not a fake Christian associating with a mega church.
I am a Christian and I approve of this message
Depends on the mega church really. There's some of them that are transparent I what they do with the money and they help all over the world MUCH more than a lot of organizations and they do so much great things all over the world. But then there are the mega churches everyone talks about who aren't transparent and really no sign of what they're doing with the money and flip flop everywhere. Just too bad we usually focus on the worst ones rather than the ones doing what they should be doing.
100k church 900k to poor 100k annual revenue to help poor. Or, 1mil church $0 to poor now with 500k annual revenue to help poor. Just a thought.
Don't go to Florida then
Ey! Ey you! Dun do dat.
Don't do religion at all?
No no no. Don't do religion in my funny pics, eh?
