So if America is dead last, and i live in massachusetts which is number one in the country, that's like being the only kid in the special class that knows not to eat paste?
@I Am Captain Obvious, you still have to wear your helmet though
@I Am Captain Obvious, do you still eat paste though? You know, just to try it
@I Am Captain Obvious, MASSACHUSETTS #1!
@I Am Captain Obvious, Hey I live in Massachusetts too! My hometown is Marshfield man
@I Am Captain Obvious, I thought it was New Jersey and Washington DC. I honestly don't know where I got this information though
@I Am Captain Obvious, mass here as well. Go us
Now there's five of them?! We are getting way too many greaders in this country!
Thought that said 5th Gender at first.
Yes, I'll take irony for 300
I'm from Nevada, which is like 49th and ahead of only New Mexico. And I worked in education. One of my many reasons education sucks is because there are awful teachers working who never get fired and who also preach scientific ignorance to the kids. There are teachers who work for the school district and tell kids that believing in evolution is offensive and preach creationism, and insist their beliefs are entitled to respect. And they don't get reprimanded or fired for it.
That boy does not look like he belongs in the 5th grade.
@fabualbusdumbledore, grader is spelled wrong, and the news report is supposed to be talking about America's poor grade school education. Although, I prefer the term "inconsistent" depends on where you live quite honestly, and private schools will provide a better education.
Doesn't matter once you get to the university level anyways, we are very competitive with the rest of the world there
@RMB, private schools actually consistently underperform public schools- there are some that do better but on average they do not (in terms of future education and career success for the student). Also, those that do perform better require much more money than public schools to do so
@ajr12100, well to be fair my exposure to private schools is limited. In the places I have lived they always did better.
