My taxes come with a promise that if I become an obese alcoholic and it costs me my job, the state will house me, give me money and pay to have my failing organs replaced.
Makes me wonder why I keep paying for a gym membership and going to work....
Don't worry. A tenth of what you paid probally won't be wasted. Maybe. Probally not.
I lose over 500 a week to taxes because I'm single with no kids. Anyone want to get married?
@that crazy Marine, can we have 3 dogs?
@ChocoboPizzacat, I can do 4
@Captain Anderson, will you complain about my lipstick addiction?
@that crazy Marine, I got nothing else going on, sure why not lol
@ChocoboPizzacat, sure, got 3 now
@Sofakingawsim, meet you at the courthouse.
Party Down, by the way. Probably one of the funniest short lived shows in recent years. Good cast with great guests. Look it up.
@Berntley, will do because of Ben Wyatt from parks and recreation.
@ArbyTheGreat, Oh, he's got much more creative freedom in Party Down, thanks to lack of censorship.
@Berntley, sounds good, I will look it up.
Yes, taxation is theft! Down with the bourgeoisie! Who needs roads, schools, police, firefighters, emergency services, or other public works? My money is my own, so down with big government that I still want to give me everything I want!
@Devil Ocean, I have a right to be safe, secure, and comfortable without putting any effort in on my own part!
@Devil Ocean, yes, because that's the problem have with taxes. Not how the goverment wastes it's tax revenues.
@Devil Ocean, I want $1.35 worth of services for every $1.00 paid in taxes knowing that $0.35 of it goes directly to line the pockets of the people who got their politician elected!
I want the government to act like Santa Clause and give everyone all they want, so they aren't required to do anything at all. Yay for big government.
@big freedom, too stupid to understand the wide spectrum of possibilities between anarchy and big government, I see
@Smo Queed, You are putting in effort by paying taxes tho
@Captain Swordsman, me? What makes you say that?
I'm all for limited government. I'm definitely not an anarchist, but can't stand people who want the government to solve everything for them.
@big freedom, I thought you were saying all taxation is big government
@Captain Swordsman, definitely not. I'm making fun of Devil Ocean because he seems to think that paying for basic government doesn't mean we should limit the scope of government at every possible opportunity lest it become out of control (as I believe it completely is right now).
@Devil Ocean, but...states govern schools and roads and such....not federal....big government usually applies to the federal level...and state is usually the smaller portion of taxes taken..
@Devil Ocean, "Taxation is theft" "Down with the bourgeoisie" Bruh you just mixed completely different political ideologies.
@Darthdoodie, good catch. communism and anarchy are polar opposites.
@Devil Ocean, roads? What's that? Our infrastructure is crumbling. School? You mean standardized test farms? Police? You mean the people who put you in jail if you don't pay taxes? Apparently you've never heard of for profit firehouses and you know the bill for an ambulance ride? Public Works? You mean the service that my government pays to contract out to a private company that I still pay for? Good joke. We're $20 trillion in debt and you think our taxes go to stuff like that? Haha yea, right.
Worked half a week for Uncle Sams weekend kegger
Gotta fund all them missiles
Taxation is theft
My favorite thing about taxes is people who say: "I don't have kids in school, why do I have to pay taxes for the other kids?"
@Captain Anderson, why should I have to if I never have children? Why should I have to pay for someone else's shiť? That is the same reason I don't want universal health care. Why should I pay for something that is a joke?
@Sgtcookie15, do you like everyone in America having at least a basic level of education that allows them to function in society? You spend on education for that. Course, lotta schools think a new gym is education, and I'd agree with you that no one should be paying for that
@Captain Anderson, basic education? You mean like the one that has put us in this situation? We've been at war for 16 years, we're $20trillion I'd debt, our infrastructure is crumbling, we idolize people like the Kardashians and ignore what's actually going on in the world. I'm tired of paying into a system that doesnt work. Maybe I would be more supportive of paying for education if that's what I actually paid for. Look at our budget and what it actually goes too, Very little actually goes to education. If you even want to call it "education". We don't measure knowledge we measure intelligence. Standardization is an asinine concept, would don't teach kids to think, we teach them to memorize and the kids who do well in our system aren't rewarded with better education but isn't education defunded because they meet the minimum. There is a reason our education system is ranked so low Globally.
@Sgtcookie15, I see what you're saying, it sounds like you want not for us to be taught just basic factorization of an equation or what an organelle is, but critical thinking? Yeah I totally agree with that and some classes throughout school will help you do that, but often it's really the teacher and not the system in my experience. I had for two similar classes, physics and calculus. The calculus teacher actually taught us why everything worked and the reasons behind it, and the physics teacher just told us formulas. This is why I think we need to put more into education, trying to get more people who are like my calculus teacher who actually inspired me to do well in all of my other classes because it actually finally got me to start realizing how much there was to actually learn and how much fun it could be if I started thinking about this stuff for myself.
@Sgtcookie15, yeah, the system that focuses on test scores and set of actual knowledge is completely wrong and we need to change it but that's where we come in we have to advocate for the proper kinds of teaching and we have to put in resources to change it
@Captain Anderson, many teachers turn a passion into just a job because of how everything works. I don't blame them, kids in our society aren't taught to value their education but rather just get through it because that's the way it is. I don't see passion in students or teachers because bleachers aren't allowed to teach they are told what what they have to teach and how they have to do it; There are no freedoms. I'm tired of just paying into that system, democracy is about what's best for the individual not the whole group, this. Isn't democracy its an oligopili.
