For those who don't know, Amazon just bought out Whole Foods for around $13 billion, so get ready for drone groceries
@Goston, screw that. One of the Whole Foods around here got voted "best place to meet women"
@Goston, you know that meme that says "you're going to pay me to monitor everything in your house?"
It was that meme that made me realize, that's me. I have two Amazon Echos, 6 echo dots, 50 plus dash button ordering, and a fully operational smart home with cameras, lights, etc.
BUT HEY I CAN GET CHEEZEBALLS FROM A DRONE
@Goston, let's not jump to conclusions. I don't think it's appropriate to call "Whole Foods" a form of groceries.
@KittyVonClaude, 50 plus buttons?! I think you need an intervention
@Not him again, *sigh* yes...
@KittyVonClaude, my ex had a few and I asked what would happen if I just clicked it a bunch, and she said "well I'd get a bunch of emails to confirm my order." And I was like, so you still have to get on your phone and do something...
So these are basically pointless then
"NO OMG IT'S SOOO MUCH EASIER"
@Not him again, oh weird? Maybe she had a setting on to confirm with an email? I just push it and get my order. Only email I get is confirming it's on the way already. *push button* BOOM PAPER TOWELS (2 days later) *push button* BOOM LAUNDRY DETERGENT (2 days later). My little girl even has a playdoh smart button on her dresser, she pushes it when she runs out of playdoh.
She asked me one day, "Mommy, where's the button to order more toys?"
@Not him again, but even if she did have to confirm it with an email, they aren't pointless. Delivering goods to your house to minimize human social interaction? I mean, come on. It's a win to me.
@KittyVonClaude, yeah i think she had it set like that so her son wouldnt accidentally order 5 million dryer sheets
@Goston, I know its saying Amazon did but I work at whole foods and my supervisor was telling me that we came to a merger agreement.
@dragonkatana, I can see a whole foods manager saying merger agreement, but when one company spends 13.7 billion dollars, it's a buyout. The merger portion is simply that Amazon wants to continue to use the whole foods franchise name, and not replace it. Amazon will be calling the shots within 2 years.
@Jokanu, I agree but I'm a little wary as to what will happen. I hope they don't cut back pay cos I get 12.90 an hour. My supervisor doesn't know yet what will happen
@Goston, only for those willing to pay $100 For a dozen free range chicken eggs. Those who could throw away their money on grocery shopping can now do so more efficiently
@occasionalmutant, there's actually a some good info out there as to why amazon chose Whole Foods and how it will lower prices. Basically Whole Foods is expensive because they purchase product from too many different places... in steps amazon with an amazing logistics network to reduce that cost.
Unlike drax, my reflexes aren't fast. This joke went over my head
@Kangaroo Jacked, I don't think it's slow reflexes I think it was
thrown too far away for you to catch on the first place.
@Kangaroo Jacked, he's the CEO of amazon, and he's currently trying to make a deal to buy Whole Foods for $13B
