Not to get political but I think we can all agree attempting to force Americans to hand in their guns is an awful idea. Take it from someone who lives in Cali, I know way too many people that own them and probably won't willingly hand them in.
@A Math Dealer,
@A Math Dealer, statements like this is the exact reason the 2nd Amendment was written...
@DonaldJTrump, so I actually just bought a sig m400 (their version of the ar15) and I see no purpose in it. Dont get me wrong, I have a lot of fun at the range, but its just a toy. Like hell I would willingly turn it in. My toy.
@A Math Dealer, and the people in power seem to ignore that guns aren't the problem, it's mental health. I hope eventually they do, but I feel like that's wishing for too much.
@Sr5turbo, then you are what we call a "fudd". Someone who thinks "well it wont really affect me much, so I dont care". Its not about whether it affects you, it's about what they will do next. I'm from Canada, and the Liberals are planning to ban "assault rifles" (which are already banned since the 70's, but they will just say any semi-auto centerfire is now called an assault rifle), but its not about whether it affects you or not. It's about the government punishing law abiding citizens and unilaterally turning millions of people into criminals overnight.
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, i think you got me all wrong bud. I do what I can to keep what i already have, because every tyrannical power has started by taking rights away from its citizens. Btw, nice to hear someone speaking out against Canada.
@A Math Dealer, also live in CA and my brother owns some, can confirm
@Sr5turbo, but saying that you would hand yours in just because you don't use it only empowers those that want to keep taking legally owned property. Beyond the 2A, and the rights, and the need for firearms, the argument I use is that law abiding owners have had to follow the rules to obtain property and use it safely, and yet are being criminalized and having private property confiscated without due course of law, or reason.
@TheDoctorsTARDIS, your point is correct, but he isn't saying he would turn it in. "like hell I would turn it in. My toy." means "I won't turn it in because it is mine". So you're both saying the same thing just different ways :)
@Bushy Brows, thank you
@Sr5turbo, ah, I misread it. Sorry. I thought it said that you would turn it in, because it is a toy. My mistake.
@Sr5turbo, dont think of it as a toy. Its not a toy. If youre not careful with it you could kill someone. Way to many stories of people handing someone a gun to "play" with it and then they kill someone.
@BlazingBowman, you are 100% right. Poor choice of words on my part. Leisurely luxury device. Idk, but agreed, toy makes me sound careless, which I am not.
@Ashoka02Tano, thw availability of guns is a problem, even our own police system is corrupt and trigger happy
@DavidRomeroBruh, stricter gun laws could help but there is still going to be ways to get them. Mass shootings could be lowered if people know more about signs of the mentally ill to help them and for news channels to not give them infamy with their name and face (that's usually what they want and/or to push their extremists agenda). Corruption will always be there because it is a product of greed, whether it be for money or power or simply because they can.
@Sr5turbo, just making sure. Though i was already pretty sure you didnt think about it like that.
@Ashoka02Tano, austrailia used to have a gun problem like us. They took all guns away, now they rarely have any problems. Look at the stats for guns violence in the US vs other countries.
@DavidRomeroBruh, that's where it gets complicated because of the right to bear arms. It's a mess either way.
@Ashoka02Tano, not really , congress and the people can change Laws. Laws change that dorsnt mean he Constitution has to remain the same forever. Things change over time gun laws havent really changed. America has proven time after time we csnt handle guns. They are not for us. If our police who uphold the law and are swon to protect abuse them why should rrgular people have them? Why should anyone have them? At the end of the day America needs to change and taking guns away is the best thing to do. Novody wants to hear it because of this and that. But its the truth. America doesnt like hearing the truth
@DavidRomeroBruh, the black market would bloom with influx of people needing illegal guns more than ever if than happened. It still wouldn't completely solve the problem.
@Ashoka02Tano, no maybe not but it would greatly descrease the problem dont u think??
@DavidRomeroBruh, not truly. In Australia, it's different because it's a smaller country than the US. They're lucky it worked so well, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll work here. Crimes committed with knives would increase as well. If you remove one method of violence, another one will increase or be created. We can only hope things change for the better but you know how humanity is, ignorant and slow to change.
@BlazingBowman, no different than a high dollar sports car.
@BeerForBreakfast, you shouldnt treat either as toys.
@BlazingBowman, exactly. We have a problem of respect. We don't treat others or our possessions with it.
This is where the fun begins.
@The Freaking FBI, you don’t even know how many guns I have freaking FBI!!!
@The Freaking FBI, #Boogaloo
Where's that guy that always just comments "guns are bad" and gets downvoted to h€ll?
This is his opportunity and he's missing it.
@Jaune Arc, Sigh... I like guns and I don't really want to be downvoted to hèll.... but If it makes you feel better I'll step in for him.
Guns are bad.
@TheFunniestPics, your voice is always welcome. We’re all Americans we’re in this together.
@Jaune Arc, right below you pal.
Winchester model 1907, civilians owned these while soldiers were using bolt action rifles.
@PizzaGamer, How about you actually try and debate instead of just downvoting things you don't like. Show me how I'm wrong in anything I said above. Give me some actual feed back instead of quietly downvoting like a coward.
Literally a man with who could not pass background checks wants to ban guns....nobody cares?
@punsnipermark6, I don’t really care about the gun issue, i don’t think anyone wants to take everyone’s guns away just the crazy’s that shouldn’t have them, and also I don’t like Beto at all but what makes you think he can’t pass a background check? You sound like every crazy Karen believing what they see on Facebook.
@sgtpepper47, he was arrested for DUI and burglary, do you really think he would pass?
@punsnipermark6, those charges were dismissed also even if he was he could still technically own a gun.
@sgtpepper47, sadly true. Idk how he got those dismissed with all the evidence against him
@punsnipermark6, I’m not sure either. Again I don’t like him just getting tired of no one doing research lol. Also tired of political stuff on here in the first place.
@sgtpepper47, I think the good thing about seeing political stuff on here is that it's a barometer of the political leanings. Since these posts are accessible to anyone who has the app, and not just my friends, you can gauge the overall leaning by how many likes and dislikes certain comments have.
I'm downvoting not because of the gun debate, just because I frickin HATE Ron White.
The only sensible Democrat that knows you can't take away people's guns and gas powered vehicles is getting severely ignored or laughed at by making the other candidates put their money where their mouths are and its pathetic.
@Marie Celeste, which one is that?
@Raki Zaki, Andrew Yang. The guy has over 100 policies on his campaign site. Has really good ones to end corruption in politics like putting term limits on congressional positions and giving Americans what he calls Democracy dollars, where you get $100 every election to donate to your candidate of choice. It's supposed to help end the power of lobbying money by corporations. https://www.yang2020.com
But since he's also the guy with the "crazy" plan of giving everyone $1,000/mo and is proving it works by giving families that much a month for a year, they laughed at him. But he's now 4th in popularity and rising. They're not laughing anymore.
@Raki Zaki, check out his policy on guns. Yang knows the 2nd amendment is never going anywhere. He has a wonderful, common sense gun policy.
Also, if he can unite people on every YouTube comment section of his videos, you know he's doing something right.
Boo!!! I thought this was supposed to be an app for funny pictures..... proof this app is almost as cancerous as Ifunny. Also Ron White isn’t even that great.
It is sad to say that is the only Viable option for the States. Sad it will never happen tho. I wont be raising my kids in the states thats for sure time to move to a better country.
@DavidRomeroBruh, name one
@Snarfel Burger, austrailia, japan, germany, sweden, finland, netherlands, theres plenty of first world countries that r better than here. Especially ones where u dont have to worry about guns like here.
@ThePandaPool , bye 😂🤣. I have 0 Respect for u as a memer and as a person. Use that energy for ur day. Dont bother responding I dont care what u write.
@DavidRomeroBruh, maybe you’re living in the wrong city or state, but i’ve never had to “worry” about being shot here. If you’re that worried, then you need to learn to not be so harmless. Learn to protect yourself, you’re gonna find evil in all the countries you mentioned. With that said, you’re WAY more likely to die in a car crash than from a gun. WAY MORE LIKELY!
We could go point by point with each of those countries about what they do better, but as far as: standard of living, opportunity for upward mobility, economic choices, cultural variety, and enshrinement of free speech, America is definitely ahead. There’s a reason why more foreign students choose to get an education in America rather than anywhere else. America might be slowly going down the drain, but those other places are already in the sewer.
@Snarfel Burger, america is on the fast track of going down the drain. Education system garbage, healthcare system is garbage, political system is garbage, police system is garbage, our food is literal garbage plastic in everything,Transportation system garbage, economy is garbage. I dont know what fantasy world ur living in but u need to watch the news. Just people chanting USA is number 1 doesnt make it so.
@DavidRomeroBruh, I'm so glad I made such an inteligent level headed friend. Lol
@ThePandaPool , American Ignorance at its best. People wonder why the world hates us. Sad times we r living in. Good thing theres memes.
@ThePandaPool , He may not like you, but I'll suck your pee pee. 😘
@DavidRomeroBruh, and let's not forget people crying, acting big and getting all nasty in the comments.
@Pyvin, stop. You'll get me all hot and bothered.
As a Texan, who loves his guns and shooting in competitions I agree with Beto. Too many psychos get guns that can do damage without much training. With a lever action rifle in the right hands an SMG can be put to shame. Look it up on YouTube. 13 year old Dylan Holsey did just that.
@YaBoiDoodleBob, I agree with you 100% I also don’t mind guns I just don’t think everyone should have them. I think even to own one you should prove you can like getting your license for a car but harder since you know it’s a tool that can hurt people.
Better dead than red.
Why not impose a limit on the amount of weapons and ammo per person they can keep on their main property?
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED
@Bench, if pills can be limited and tracked, guns should be too. How many guns can one person use to defend themselves at a time safely?
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, faulty analogy.
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, pills are not a constitutional right. Guns are.
@ORGANIC, no one person needs more guns than they have fingers
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, And? No one person needs more cars than they have bodies. It's not up for the government to decide how many legally owned firearms I possess. The reason the second amendment is even a thing is to stop the government from creating a disarmed population. The very fact that they are saying we don't need our guns, shows that we ABSOLUTELY need our guns.
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, what is the difference between one person owning 1 gun and one person owning 30 guns? They can only use one at a time anyways. Or are you picturing mass shooters with having multiple articulating turrets mounted all over their bodies?
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, how many guns are needed to protect onself is up to the individual. Different guns might be used in different situations and put around the house. It is not the government to decide how much property the citizens should own.
@ThePandaPool , pfft one at a time. Freaking rookies.
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, um, no. The Founding Fathers didn't write the 2nd Amendment because they just got back from a hunting trip, they just fought a war against a government that was trying to confiscate their guns.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, nobody is taking away your guns, just some types of guns. Slow down bro.
@ZeldasHero, SHALL. NOT. BE. INFRINGED. It's a slippery slope. It's already happening. It started out as legitimate machine guns, then they went for "assault rifles", a.k.a. anything with scary black plastic on it, now they want ALL SEMI-AUTO RIFLES. The single most common weapon in the US. It's only a matter of time until they try and take them all.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, hey bruh, loosen the straps on your tin foil hat.
@ZeldasHero, Have you even LISTENED to the Democratic candidates? They are outright saying, "YES! We WILL take your guns!!" Look at Beto during the latest debate. Elizabeth Warren, Tulsi Gabbard, Joe Biden. Every single one of them are for sweeping gun control, firearm bans, and firearm registration, while spouting BS about how we need to have background checks on firearm purchases(Newsflash. We already have extensive Federal background checks on all new firearm purchases. And the whole 'gunshow/internet loopholes are BS. If you buy from either of those two sources you have to have the weapon shipped to a federally liscenced dealer in your state where they make it state law compliant.) Furthermore, firearm registries have ALWAYS been used by dictators to strip the population of their weapons so as to make them easier to control. All these people want is absolute control. And if we don't shut them down, they will have it.
@ZeldasHero, And if you want an example of how an armed population overthrew a corrupt government who outnumbered them, in the last century, IN THE UNITED STATES, look up the 1946 Battle of Athens, Tennessee. A corrupt government official made it impossible to vote anyone but himself and his cronies in the entire county. He made sure to have the police paid by commission, and gave them more money based on how many fines they put out. When the WW2 vets came home they all had received bonuses from the federal government for their services. He had his cronies berate them and fine them for anything they could think of just to take their money for himself. Look it up. An population armed just as well as the military IS A MUST to prevent corruption like this.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, guns are a little different nowadays than in 1946.... Also, we keep voting people in that increase military funding, which is close to $800 BILLION. We the people ain’t overthrowing anything but our arguments reach.
@ZeldasHero, Firearms have not changed much functionally since the 40s. The only major changes have been the materials used in the visual aspects of the gun, such as plastics instead of wood. Most of our military funding has gone to protecting OTHER countries that don't have standing army of their own. Most of the military would abdicate upon being turned against the populace, as they are mostly volunteers. Look at the Middle East. We have been at war with many of the insurgency groups there for over a decade. The full unmitigated force of the US military can't have complete control over an area the size of Texas. There is no way they would be able to have complete control over the single most armed population on the planet. There are more guns than people in the US. We would not fall so easily.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, cool. Keep telling yourself that, it’s working for you.
@ZeldasHero, dude tinfoil hat. Democratic presidential are basically all in lockstep advocating for that openly. That is their platform. Banning semi autos is what the least radical ones are advocating.
@ZeldasHero, and yet we keep losing wars in the middle east. Strange how that is.
@ZeldasHero, also how are they different from 1946? Remember the tommy gun? Full autos and semi autos were widely available in that time
@ZeldasHero, laughs in rice fields and mountain caves
@ZeldasHero, democrats keep pushing. Once they get one banned, they go for the next.
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, all I gotta say is frank castle
@ZeldasHero, I like how all your arguments are either as hominem or completely baseless. You clearly have an agenda, just come out and say it. You don’t like guns or gun owners. Now defend why you think we should not have (name any gun here)?
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, why not impose a limit on how much the government is allowed to affect the citizens of the US... oh wait, they did that already.
@InsaneAnimeCleavage, yeah legal drugs, medical malpractice and vehicle accidents, individually kill a hell of a lot more people than guns used to murder.
@JangoFett, here's another interesting one - secondhand smoke kills 41,000 people in the US a year while guns kill 33,000 people (many of which are defensive kills). Btw, that's JUST secondhand smoke, so the actions of someone else (a smoker and a shooter) in killing someone else, smoking is worse.
(point trying to make is how in both of these cases the person dying isn't actively trying to do, it's from the decision of someone else, but there are worse things than guns). That means that the agenda isn't actually about saving lives but getting rid of something they don't like.
Also, don't smoke! 480,000 deaths a year in the US from smoking (has nothing to do with my comment but I want people to be healthy :))
@ThePandaPool , we r picturing mass shooters with multiple partners using multiple weapons, just look how much damage 1 person can do imagine a team of them.
@DavidRomeroBruh, because that's more likely than them buying them themselves.
@DavidRomeroBruh, but we're picturing mass defenders protecting the country from a corrupt government. If you want to "picture" things, it doesn't accomplish anything, there are different pictures
to look at (only one of those has anything to do with the second ammendment though).
But here's something interesting for you - guns when used defensively.
The cdc said on average Americans use guns defensively 1.2 million times a year and 1 in 6 of those it is believed that someone would have died had they not had a defensive firearm. That's 200,000 lives saved in the US per year vs 33,000 lives lost in the US from guns. What are your opinions on that statistic? Because to me it shows there's more to guns than the media has to portray.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, I download you because there’s a difference between then control legislation to prevent people who should not have guns from getting them and trying to take your guns. Those are two entirely different things.
It’s a slippery slope towards propaganda whenone embellishes the truth.
@ZeldasHero, correct your average citizen is not going to be able to go up against today’s current military.
so the whole keeping guns to overthrow corrupt government no longer really applies.
That being said today’s military is also made up of the children of the very family members that they would be taking guns from if they tried. So that’s not going to have an either
@Seohn, If you'd actually listen to the Democratic candidates, you would know that they have said THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE THEM FROM US. Beto said so himself. And we already HAVE laws on the books to keep guns out of criminal hands. THEY DO NOT WORK. A criminal will commit crimes REGARDLESS of the law. Need an example? Look at Chicago. Strictest gun laws in the country, highest amount of crime in the country. And the only ones spouting propaganda are the ones who keep pushing gun control. They keep redefining what a so-called 'assault weapon' is. An AR-15 is NOT an assault rifle. By military definition an assault rifle HAS to have select fire capabilities. Semi-auto is not select fire. You get one shot per one trigger pull. An AR-15 has NEVER been used in war. The round an AR-15 uses is incredibly weak when compared to most other types of ammunition. Guns are not the problem. PEOPLE are the problem.
@Seohn, couple things:
1. They are absolutely going step by step to come and take legal guns away.
2. Who gets to determine which “people who should not have guns”? The government? No thank you. The entire reason for the second amendment is to prevent government from restricting the people’s ability to buy and carry weapons.
3. Tell the rice farmers and cave dwelling Taliban how it’s impossible to defeat our modern military.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, There is no doubt that quite a few don’t actually understand what an assault weapon is. It annoys me when people say an AR 15 is an assault weapon.
However. Something needs to be done. Doing nothing as proven without a shadow of a doubt to not fix the problem. You don’t like the idea of more legislation for stronger background checks. Then start telling the people who are against it to come up with a better idea that will fix the problem instead of doing absolutely nothing.
Because you know what they say, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity. And it’s pretty insane that doing nothing seems to be what people want to do and expecting the problem to be fixed.
I want to make something clear. I support owning gun. I like guns. They’re fun to shoot. But something needs to be done. And insanity seems to be the only solution being actively used.
@Seohn, What more can be done? Background checks? We have those, they only stop people who have felonies from purchasing firearms. Restrictions on the types of weapons? Look to Britain for the results of that one. Criminals will use anything they can, including vehicles, acids, and knives. Now they have banned KNIVES of all things. Having a firearms registry? Look to all the countries that have done such a thing and see what atrocities occured there. Gun crime is NOT on the rise. By all metrics given to us they have been on the steady decline for the last decade. The only problem we have is that the news cycle spins so fast and is so far reaching we hear about every crime that has occurred the minute they take place. The only way to help people in high crime areas is to LOOSEN gun control laws and allow them a means to protect themselves from criminals. Because when guns are outlawed, the only ones who will have guns are outlaws.
@Seohn, Here's a good anology for you. Consider all criminals to be lions. Consider all victims to be gazelle. We do NOT take the gazelles horns when lions start killing them, in the name of trying to protect them.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, hahahahaha just read your anology. Hilarious
Yang Memes > every other political meme
Just sayin'. Whoever has been making them is doing a great job.
