I remember when this was a thing! Oh lord, this was a thing...
@NebOlevar, we have had the whole discussion about why people hate millennials, but this is it. This is why we hate millennials. Now many of them will try to defend themselves on this post, but it will be in vein, for this is unforgivable.
This girl needs to be backhanded with a copy of "a history of music, a textbook"
In all seriousness though The Beatles were overrated.
*runs into downvote bunker
@Atom bomb baby, Their solo careers were much better.
@Atom bomb baby, agreed, they were a bit bigger than their songs. But I'm not even sure how Kanye has a career. So at least the picture still works
@IAmFlame, no kanye is garbage, I'm just sick of people chalking them up to gods (plus usually these people have listened to "here comes the sun" and "can't buy me love" a couple of times and never went deeper and then praise them because it's popular) when they were really just another British hippie band. They weren't bad by any means just not the best.
@Atom bomb baby, *It's okay, Neil...don't kill them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, Neil.
*eye twitches. Yeah, man! Totally! Have an...upvote.
@Atom bomb baby, I wouldn't say they WERE overrated but nowadays they are basically revered as gods
@Atom bomb baby, did you live during the 1960's? Otherwise you don't really get to talk
@Atom bomb baby, I agree, I'm not big on their music.
Their good, but their not the greatest band in the world like people seem to treat them.
@thesamfactory, You're right, God I was so stupid to forget that it's humanly impossible to listen to music and have an opinion about it if it came out before your birth date.
@Atom bomb baby, bunch of commie cucks to be honest
@Atom bomb baby, oh my god sarcasm! Wow you must be so advanced. It is really hard to say whether the hype is undeserved if you never lived through they hype
@thesamfactory, why on earth would I need to have lived 50+ years ago to listen too and form a personal opinion on one of the most if not the most known band on the planet?
@Atom bomb baby, in your opinion.
@Atom bomb baby, too funny to downvote
@Atom bomb baby, as far as the British invasion is concerned, the Beatles were consistently good, but the Beatles at their best could not compare to the stones at their best.
@Atom bomb baby, the Beatles, like any popular anything are likely overrated, but one thing you must keep in mind is that you're looking or hearing their contributions through a lens of many years. Consider their music versus what came before them, their sound was ground breaking for the time. Many techniques that popular music uses today were first explored by the Beatles. When these conversations come up, I think often times it becomes one side versus the other not specifically for the content of their music but the feeling of one side that their contributions should be respected versus the other side not entirely understanding what those contributions were or how the musical landscape may have been effected. In the end, it's music, enjoy it or don't - that's all it's really there for after all.
@Atom bomb baby, that's like saying star wars is trash even though it's digital effects were transcendental for the time. You weren't living it you don't know what it was like to live in a world before the Beatles
@thesamfactory, not to mention the list of records still held in the Guinness book I agree that people who don't get why the Beatles are revered like they are need to read up on just how much they pioneered in the way of musical techniques and sounds.... I mean the guys took LSD just to see what they could come up with well tripping mad balls
*Follows.... Into dark alley. 'Educates' her with every Beatles song over her head. Blows her mind when she learns they were only together 10 years.
@mas2de, dude...they were together around 10 years. But their best and most prolific period was only around 5 or 6 years
@King Spunkmonkey, My bad. You're right. It's corrected. I meant to put 5, hit 3 was wrong either way lol. Either way they did produce a Massive amount of music for how long they were together.
@mas2de, Yeah they did! Especially when you consider they wrote it all themselves. Of course, not every song is a masterpiece but the vast majority of them are worth listening to, to say the least. Well, that's my opinion anyway
@King Spunkmonkey, and it's a popular one and we'll supported in fact.
Sterilization exist for a reason… This is one of the major bulletin points of that reason
Honestly, i prefer ELO to The Beatles
Now in all seriousness, who is this Paul McCartney Kanye is going to make famous??
@Wallybs, He is the most famous Beetle and one of the two that are still alive. I am not a huge beetles fan but this is the most basic knowledge of music.
@Wallybs, essentially one of the most prolific songwriters in history, it is worth looking at the list compared to any current mega star.
@Barry Dylan, ok I get it, it's not like I've been living my whole life in a yellow submarine...
