Honestly Spider-Man: Homecoming is my favorite spider man movie and one of my favorite marvel movies
I liked all three, but I think I like Tom Holland the most. I feel he fits the comic book Spiderman the best
@Captain Magma, yeah out of the three Tom Holland is definitely my favorite
@Mikasa sucasa, same. It helps he did a lot of parkour training for his role as spidey
@Captain Magma, he's also hot af
Okay, I know I'm about to get some heavy down vote here but I have to get this out. I think Tobey Maguire was a good Peter Parker, very socially awkward and nerdy. I think he was an ok Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield was a terrible Peter Parker, much too "hipster and cool". His Spider-Man however I think was really good. Then comes Tom Holland. I was not a fan of homecoming nor Tom Holland. I will admit though that I believe that Tom Holland has potential to be an amazing blend of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man, he just isn't there yet.
Down vote away and sorry for the long post
@AnarchyWolf, upvote for the honesty and actually breaking down the reasoning and distinction between Peter and Spiderman. I agree on Maguire. At least for the first movie. The subsequent films, he just seemed like a dweeb. They doubled down on his loser side, and it just got sad and awkward. The first Spiderman movie was absolutely grand. Garfield, I don't think the hipster aspect was bad, necessarily. Those movies didn't get the dedication and backstory they needed to thrive. They were so on the surface, because they were trying to play really hard into Sinister 6. Holland, I actually really like. He doesn't have the look, and honestly, doesn't exactly take me back to the comics (or cartoons), but he's something else entirely, and it fits well into the universe and what they've created. Homecoming, to me, was so good, because it was very organic, and we didn't have to have so much build up to the origin or the villain. I loved him in Civil War, too. I'm looking forward more movies.
@AnarchyWolf, no downvote here. I completely agree with you on the first two. I do however think that Holland did a good job (just my opinion). Moreover, I think the movie as a whole did a great job on the NYC school scene and students. My wife is an NYC teacher and the school on the screen looked so much like her school. Not just diversity to check a box, but the proportions and representations were accurate to the type of school he goes to. Also, notice how few bikinis and we see. They did a great job having attractive women without making me feel like a gross old guy ogling high school girls in skimpy outfits. The accents were all accurate. The locals all seemed sooo real. Even the police and firemen were allowed to do some real things. Props to all the "extras" in this movie and the people who made it authentic. (Obligatory, Sorry for long post)
Tobey MacGuire can't act his way out of a paper bag.
@Good Guy Satan, Tobey Maguire
@Good Guy Satan, Andrew Garfield
@Good Guy Satan, Tom Holland
@Good Guy Satan, always toby, except for movie number 3
@Good Guy Satan, I just don't like Tobey for how he cries. I know it's dumb and irrational but who smiles when they cry?? It unnerves me.
@Good Guy Satan, Tobey.
@Good Guy Satan, voted for all 3 cause frankly I love all 3. I just love Spider-Man.
@Good Guy Satan, I imagine most of the people voting for Tobey are for nostalgic reasons, bunch of old farts! 💩
God how can anyone like Toby McGuire. Fvcking horse racing bastard
Might be the unpopular opinion, but I can't stand Tobey Maguire as spider-man.
@Emilio Bandersnatch , everyone seems to forget Spiderman 3 exists
@Emilio Bandersnatch , those movies and that sm sucked. Like he looked so dumb doing the finger thing without shooters with a button. Also he acted like a shy nerd instead of the mouthy sarcastic sm that Andrew got close to, but tom perfected. So the og trilogy was garbage in my opinion
@IbeTHATguy, You realize a major part of Spider-Man is that peter Parker is a nerd with no friends, right?
Haven't seen Tom as Peter/spidey. I have to currently go for Andrew over Toby.
Toby is trash, I mean mime
Did you guys know that Tom Holland is British?
@Royal Waffle, So is Andrew Garfield. What's your point?
@DesertHumour, So is Andrew Lincoln, from Walking Dead. However, James Marsten (Spike from Buffy) actually isn't. It's almost as if they all dedicate their talents to being able to fit whatever role they're given.
@Royal Waffle, and so is Christian Bale, Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Idris Elba and that's all I can remember off of the top of my head. Point is, it's nothing new
@Young Man Logan, don't you mean benedril cumbersnatch
Guys cmon tom holland isnt even better than andrew gsrfield he is the only sm who cant just turn into an expert cloths designer and make his spiderman suit out of spandex without training
I always thought Tobey looked like they poured him into the suit and forgot to "say when"
@DisfunctionalJacket, same breh
you guys should see tom hollands dog it's pretty much the best when he brings her to events
Tobey holds a special place, but I gotta admit that I very much prefer Tom's Spidey a million times over.
I like Tobey Maguire, but I thought he was an ill fitting spiderman.
