It's the wandering of my mind that helps me sleep, I think of any number of things, usually a dialogue between two characters, and once I start thinking of something else without realizing it I fall asleep.
I know it was kind of a long comment, but it gets me through my insomnia, so if you're hurting you could give it a shot.
@Ser Waffle Knight, (long comment, sorry not sorry) I'm glad you commented this because I really thought I had a little insomnia until very recently (last few nights). Before then, I would close my eyes and try to go to sleep for what seemed like hours. But recently I watched my alarm clock. Weird right? But the reason I did that is I remember reading somewhere you can lucid dream if you stay awake and refrain from falling asleep for half an hour, while having your eyes closed and lying still. Might as well do cool dream stuff while I'm falling asleep
So I thought I would give it a try. I spent what felt like 10 minutes thinking about things, preventing myself from falling asleep. IT HAD ONLY BEEN 2.5 MINUTES.
So I kept going, and I realized that I actually fall asleep in a matter of 10-15 minutes!
I guess what I'm saying is that if you can stay still and close your eyes, occasionally open your eyes to see a clock, and you might find that only a couple minutes have passed
@Ser Waffle Knight, for me, as weird as it sounds, I think of NBA Trade Scenarios to help me sleep. Sometimes I'll be up until 3-4 in the morning with a wandering mind so I just think of scenarios like that and all the intricacies and details that go into it to help my mind relax.
@Ser Waffle Knight, I usually have conversations between 2-10 people in my head as I'm trying to fall asleep
@MrLampoon, that would be useful when school starts back up, I can make those 5 more minutes feel like an eternity
As some one who has ADHD, this is not how it works
This is accurate
I come up with brilliant ideas, like how to cure children's cancer, but fall asleep and can't remember he pertinent details in the morning...
And I hate the stereotypes
@benderama, it's just a stupid joke.. relax, kid.
@ThaSmoothieKing, I'm not a kid, I'm 35
@benderama, haha I'm sorry but if found this comment so much funnier than the picture! But yeh it's just a cartoon lots of us have ADHD here and it's not exactly an offensive representation.
ADHD is vastly over diagnosed and is mostly just people trying to make an excuse for being overactive. Many experts even belive that ADHD doesn't exist and that doctors even say that their children have "ADHD" just because the kid doesn't listen or is over active.
I have ADHDEFGHIJKLMNOP.
