If I were the old lady and my card got declined, I would just leave the cart and walk out. Avoids additional embarrassment.
@Ryachaz, it's also a dick move to employees who have to put away all the stuff you got
@Vesrox, well, the employees get paid to do it. The old woman doesn't.
@Oujosh29, ish. We WILL get paid to do it, but putting customers groceries away isn't our job. Running register, bagging, cutting meat, stocking shelf's, etc. is our job
@Finalh0pe, it is your job. What you described may be your main duties, but your employment also means they can assign additional tasks as needed. Putting up groceries is part of that.
@Oujosh29, I'm didn't post that the argue. I'm telling everyone, coming from someone who works at a grocery store, our "main duties" are our job. I have been paid to change light bulbs for the store, but it wasn't my job. When on the clock, we can be asked to do pretty much anything, even if it isn't in our job description
@Oujosh29, Got hit up by some salty grocerty store employees.
@MrPuffNStuff, no, just it's literally their job to do it. I worked at Wal-Mart when I was in high school and college, and this was normal stuff. My main area was electronics, but they also had me be a cashier, get carts, and put groceries back for customers, because it was my job. Don't know why this is controversial.
@Oujosh29, I meant all the downvotes you got for pointing out that it is their job.
@Oujosh29, the "it's not my job, I don't get paid to do this" attitude bothers me. True, that may not be in your initial hiring job description. But the company that hires you and pays you does it so that you will help ensure a positive customer experience, and in turn, a successful and profitable company. When looking for people to promote to higher positions, I look for those with ambition, greater perspective, and initiative. This type of reluctance or annoyance at doing tasks not in your main job duties is a huge red flag.
I don't approve of companies taking advantage of employees, and there are justified examples of that (unsafe working conditions, expecting extra work when not on the clock, etc.), but I don't think this is one of those cases.
@TanktheTitanium, uncalled for?
@TanktheTitanium, We usually wait until we're married for that, but I appreciate the enthusiasm
@SimonPetrikov, this comment train has been saved. Good job mate. 🖒 oil BOOBS.
@TanktheTitanium, stop being a salty little bitch, they will stop trying to help you
@TheHippie52, as long as they don't try to control our country
@TanktheTitanium, they need to if the country is filled with cry babies like you, salty bitch
@TheHippie52, as an athiest, fvck people like him. I'm not religious, but I'm also not going to knock people who are
@TheHippie52, look who's talking, salty bitch!
@TanktheTitanium, oh no he used my insult against me! *faints*
@TheHippie52, I don't get it.
@CynicalSirr, shocking. I don't get you sir. I understand you want to be a grammar nazi, I can deal with that. But why do you correct slang? You've commented asking me what a doggo is, or how dry fvck is when I said dry as fvck. You downvote me a lot... are you a troll? Are you the human equivalent of a dad joke? I don't get you sir.
@TheHippie52, I'll clear it up. I'm just a grammar nazi, as trolls just blindly downvote for absolutely no reason (there are people who blindly upvote and no one complains about them). Some people have hated when I just downvote without saying anything. So I say something and I get the same response. I am just voicing my opinions. I'm not hiding what i am, considering my name (and btw, there are 2 "r" because I forgot my password on the one with one r).
@TanktheTitanium, *tips fedora in edgelord*
@theshadosnipe, Atheist as well, but don't you think we're religious still? I mean, to believe in there not being a Devine creator is just as much faith as believing in one, right?
@SeussAlmighty, no, atheism isn't a belief in nothing, it's literally just not believing anything. They aren't equivalent. Atheism is passive, theism is active
@SeussAlmighty, I could be wrong but isn't atheism more about not believing in God (or gods) more so then not believing at all?
@Sven and Otar, but you're actively not believing in something
Also I know a lot of atheists that actively try to convince people religion is false. They're essentially atheist missionaries.
@theshadosnipe, well said the world would be a better place if people were willing to accept that having differing opinions doesn't mean you have to attack the views of others... well except for flat earthers but that's different.
@George Feeny, yea... There are limits, but I generally just try to pretend people like that just don't exist. Kinda like the people who still think earth is the center of the universe
@RustyFapwagon, to me those people are as bad as the religious trying to convince atheists to believe in God. Why can't we just people believe what they want and accept it? Or at the worst just ignore them if it bothers you that much. I've got plenty of religious friends but we just don't talk about our beliefs and instead talk about the noobs we're going to pwn
@theshadosnipe, because their books tell them to. They believe they're going to save you and that if they don't you're going to hell and be in pain for eternity. I think anyone that could simultaneously believe that and also not try to help you would be pretty shjtty, right?
@RustyFapwagon, that's fair, but shouldn't there be a limit? If someone doesn't want help is it really right to force it upon them?
@theshadosnipe, of course forcing people is wrong. The Christian Bible doesn't say anything in the new testament regarding forcing people, so that would also be wrong per their text. You actually can't force someone to be Christian, not in the "saved" sense that Christians believe you can obtain since only the individual can accept God as their savior. Their book teaches them to live according to their book, and try to encourage people to follow God.
I agree with that form of missionary work.
Islam is a different story as a separate example. They actually have to change you per their text. Anyone that doesn't change is considered an apostate, regardless of if they were a Muslim before and sentenced to death since they also believe that no matter what you are born a Muslim per the Quran and most versions of the Hadith.
I don't agree with that because as an American it is against my country's foundation.
@TanktheTitanium, no we don't need any more
😒 gee, what a saint....
