@ORGANIC, No lie, until someone else said it correctly out loud, I always head-said "Her-mee-own".
@Shazamanite, is that not how it's pronounced?
@benderama, she actually explains it to Victor Krum in Goblet of Fire as such "Her-my-oh-knee", and because of his accent, the resulting "Herm-own-ninny" is spectacular.
@Shazamanite, haven't a clue who the person is or where that name is from, just didn't know how to pronounce it
@benderama, Harry Potter series bro. Books are good, movies are ok, and Harry is a whiny tool sometimes.
@ORGANIC, the first time I read Harry Potter I pronounced Ginny as guinea
@ORGANIC, I said herm-me-one for the longest time
@Shazamanite, that's how I pronounced her name until I saw the first movie
@Shazamanite, isnt that how the giant that was hagrids brother pronounced it?
@theshadosnipe, I thought the giant caller her Hermy
@Shazamanite, hello Womble
Ninety nine percent of the works of JRR Tolkien... seriously, if you've only seen the movies, you're missing out on a lot of... well, singing and weird made up languages.
Took me forever to figure out Yuuzhan Vong from Star Wars EU. (Non canon now)
@Beaverdd15, I always pronounced it Yuuzhan like Susan and Vong like gong.
@Huffman880, yeah that's how I ended up pronouncing it too. It just never felt right. But it makes me feel better to know other people pronounce it the same way. Haha
@Huffman880, How did you pronounce Admiral Daala's name? I always said Dolla, but I've heard people say Day-allah and Day-ala.
@Beaverdd15, Doll Ah but with more of an A sound for Daal. More like trying to say a 1 Dolla Bill
Half of the characters/places and ALL of the Old Tongue in the Wheel of Time! I love it but jeez!
I literally read the first 4 harrypotters before the movies thinking hermione was "hair-mee-oh-neh"(with a slight german accent cuz i'm german)
"Oh you mean her-me-one(1)" -SovietWomble
I never really think about it, it makes sense in my head until I have to verbalize it.
