"If you eat shrimp you're a f@ggot" - God
@TheyCallMeTaterSalad, I lol'd
@TheyCallMeTaterSalad, I geeked
I say live and let live guys. You want to be a shrimp? You be the best darn shrimp you can be.
@goC4yourself, And if you want to eat homosexuals, that's fine to. Everyone has different tastes.
@Weird Porn Stash, exactly. However, as I'm sure we can all agree, eating shrimp and having homosexual relations? Well that's just absolutely over the line.
@goC4yourself, can i eat a shrimps homosexual relationship though
What did shrimp ever do to you jesus?
@K1lgore, broke his heart more times then the gays
@K1lgore, prolly cause back then getting the trots from shellfish improperly cooked would decimate the entire village
@Siska the Khajiit, the gays just hurt his butthole.
The amount of hermeneutically ignorant people in this thread is upsetting.
@butter bear, Well that's a word.
@butter bear, you whip out a thesaurus for that shjt?
@butter bear, I was familiar with this word, but this is the first time I've seen it spelled.
So lets me see if Im understanding this correctly. Shrimp is referred to as an abomination 4 times more than homosexuality. Yet God created shrimp. That means God also created homosexuality. So either the translation was incorrect in using abomination or abomination is a loosely used word to describe what was then unacceptable but eventually deemed ok.
@Seohn, I always hear the thumpers say that a man shall not lay with another man the way he lays with a woman. Or something like that. If you think about it. Its impossible for a man to do that. He cant lay with a man the way he does with a woman because they lack the same reproductive organs. Unless of course the bible is ok with lots of oral and buttsex with women.
@Seohn, you would be correct that the word abomination is used loosely. In the original text they had different words for the level of it. The shrimp "abomination" was actually more of a rule for the Jews to set themselves apart from the other people of the time. Also, it's debatable if the Bible actually explicitly says homosexuality is wrong or not. Lots of loose translation and people taking verses out of context :)
@Seohn, here I’ll simplify it for you: sex is for marriage. Marriage is between a man and woman. The Bible is clear on those two issues. The problem is that people, like children, always want a loophole so they can do their own thing. Tell your kid not to eat a cookie, they’ll eat a brownie instead. Tell people sex is for when you’re married, they change laws so that you can marry a laptop (true story). It’s ridiculous.
@Pubmarine Shamwich, well ya, text written by man can be changed by man to fit their agenda.
@Pubmarine Shamwich, just checked this laptop thing and that was the funniest thing I've seen all week. Thank you.
@BubblegumFive83, crazy, right??
@Pubmarine Shamwich, yeah. Some people just blow my mind.
@Pubmarine Shamwich, I understood the complicated version of it too. I have no problems with homosexual people. Im a firm believer in “I don’t like people telling me how to live, so why would I tell somebody else how to live.” I was trying to make a joke and point out the hypocrisies of it. Marriage is only between a man and woman within specific religions. That doesn’t apply to all religions. Which is why I call those particular people thumpers because they think their religion is right and everybody else is wrong and they try to force laws based on their religion.
"God hates shrimp!"
*Ed loses his shìt*
Yeah but later in the new testament God changed his mind and made shrimp OK again. So its all good.
@Kierkegaard, The concept of an omniscient deity changing it's mind blows mine.
@HonorableSquidman, its not that God changed his mind, its that the dietary laws were no longer necessary. The reason kosher law was there in the first place was mainly for health reasons, but culinary technique, and medicine, were advanced enough by NT era that the laws were insignificant.
@butter bear, waiittt so what youre saying is that instead of instilling the ability to cook a food correctly an omnipotent being instead just said its forbidden
@Guy Fawkes, well take into consideration what was available in the time periods as well. Not to mention, everything "forbidden " in the kosher diet is basically unhealthy food when raw or when in comparison to the foods allowed. This is why it is historically accurate to say the israelite people were the most healthy.
Wow, is everyone in this comment section that gullible?
Is that 4 times more or +4 more times?
I'm floored that this thread is filled with uneducated folks... I'm disappointed fam
Yeah, because eating shrimp back in the day could kill you, but having sex with a man with no STD's probably wouldn't.
But breaded shrimp tastes good!
