What makes the border wall illegal?
@k1ngs4ndm4n, It's a border wall in Palestine, I think the joke is about that episode where Rick talks a lot about Israel when he's drunk.
@Soon, no I got that I just didn't know what made it illegal
@k1ngs4ndm4n, Some UN resolution about Israel and Palestine I think, might have something to do with Israel's settlements
@k1ngs4ndm4n, Ohhh I think it's in disputed territory? At least one side will say so
@k1ngs4ndm4n, Long story short: Until 1948 Israel was not a separate state, it was part of Palestine - then they declared independence and gained international recognition as a country, so the U.N. laid out a plan for their international borders. Arab nations didn’t like this (it meant taking land from an existing Arab country) and several wars happened, but they generally backfired and Israel captured land which was outside of their borders - including the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 1968.
These are referred to as the occupied territories because - under international law - they are regarded as illegally occupied by Israel (they dispute this). Israel has built a big-ass wall along what it claims as its border, but as this is along the disputed border it is generally regarded as an illegal border wall.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their te
levision screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
@Archduke Friedrich, To the people who are confused, it's a reference to a user on Reddit who actually said and believed this which then became a meme
@Archduke Friedrich, I'M PICKLE RIIIICK
@Archduke Friedrich, I truly don’t get the people who claim you need a high iq to get the humor. It’s very basic humor it’s not like its humor hidden in some forgotten languages or something all you need is a basic understanding of the English language and boom most of the jokes make sense.
Just out of curiosity who's everyone's favorite Rick? Mine is juggling rick
The tongue being in front of that far right tooth bothers me a bit.
@SurgeonSean, shlt now that's all I see
