I'm depressed because I dropped my sandwich on the floor today :(
@Cheese Milk, when I first started working at subway I dropped a lot of people's sandwiches. Story over.
@A Math Dealer, bet you did it on purpose you monster
@Cheese Milk, This is genuinely concerning... we may have just met, but if you need anything - I’m here.
I just wanna share my #MeToo. I had a difficult morning one winter day. It was very cold, I was very hungry and fatigued - really needed a break. I got my cold sandwich out of the fridge and put it on a plate to heat it up in the microwave we have in the break room. Hot ham and cheese was sounding sooo good!
When I pulled it out of the microwave though, the plate burned my had a bit so I quickly dropped the plate onto the counter. Well, the melted cheese caused the top of my sandwich to slide off and when I went to grab it I accidentally launched the whole plate onto the floor with my sandwich.
So I know this is hard for you, but I’ve been there and hopefully my #MeToo will help you get through it too.
@Cheese Milk, you gonna eat that?
@Cheese Milk, jeez, I'm sorry man.
There is a lot of trash in the world, trust me I would know
I like how kids say that our parents screwed up the economy, yet have no idea what makes a successful economy
@ssj343, policy and reactions to world events have a major part in any economy, so I think the general idea is that the point of view of considering a previous generation’s actions is allowed
@Urraca Mesa, I don't disagree, I'm saying that the people complaining cannot explain the main economic indicators much less the things that the past generation has done to develop and hinder the economy today
Eh. I find this overblown. Life’s tough. But it’ll be alright
Everyone is depressed. The world sucks. It sucks for everyone. It just sucks more for some than others.
@Cheese Milk, I thought we dealt with nazis in the 40s
@NameyMcNameFace, Antifa is more of a threat to society than actual nazis at the moment ironically.
@AndorraBall, I wish I can give you more than 1 upvote.
@NameyMcNameFace, apparently posting a picture of a frog is the minimum requirement to be one now. Or you can just disagree with a liberal opinion. Very lenient membership requirements, Joe who works at the car shop is the literal reincarnation of hitler
@Kangaroo Jacked, awesome.
@AndorraBall, I was going to say the biggest threat to the nation is the lack of education and the number of people that believe in pseudo science. Which leads to those same people losing their ability to look at things objectively and easily believing lies.
And before the blame liberals group starts speaking. Need I remind you the far right has quite a lot of people that believe the earth is only 6000 years old. So the problems isn’t just on the far left.
@AndorraBall, I doubt that. I haven't seen antifa do anything except respond to white nationalist and nazi rallies.
@Depressed Panda, plus, antifa gets way more hate than they deserve. For one, their goal is to prevent fascism, which is good. For two, although many in antifa are communists, this is far better than being nazis, as the principles of communism do not explicitly call for genocide. Another thing to point out is, although antifa tends to use excessive force, it is common practice for nazis to pepper spray them or throw things to provoke antifa into attacking them so that they become victims.
In all, antifa is net negative in terms of their practices, but they don't deserve the level of hate they receive.
@Depressed Panda, except try yo block free speech speakers like Ben Shapiro?
Like destroy shops and cause havoc anywhere they disagree with anything?
@Depressed Panda, my point, overall is this. Antifa is not a good organization, but they are not a problem.
This thread I think proves my point well. It's easy to bash Antifa and they deserve some of it, but the real issue is how so many people are supporting nazis and how they've been emboldened to hold huge rallies and make speeches at college campuses.
This pic mentioned nazis in passing, but instead of talking about how much nazis suck and why, we're talking about some other group that manages to be assholes while opposing nazis.
@partypooper101, yeah, they break sh¡t and hurt people. Antifa is not a good organization. My point is that people spend so much time hating on antifa, they don't bother to even mention the nazis involved on the other side of the fights they cause.
@Depressed Panda, Well yes because people make it seem immoral to not support antifa.
I've never seen a Nazi in my life.
I've see people proudly boasting about antifa. Nazis don't care if you don't support them.
Tldr: both are on the extreme sides of stupid.
@AndorraBall, In terms of US social cohesion, maybe - but globally......
Austria just elected the Freedom Party in to a coalition government - the Freedom Party was founded by actual Nazis (Anton Reinthaller was a Nazi and SS Officer) and now they’re in national government. And if you’re thinking “pffft, Austria? Who cares?” then remember one thing - Hitler was Austrian.
@Depressed Panda, And while everyone was pointing at drunken rednecks in the US & calling them Nazis, Austria quietly voted a party founded by actual Nazis (as in literally members of Hitler’s Nazi party and SS Officers) in to coalition government. So yeah, the birthplace of Hitler is basically being run by the Nazis again....
@Depressed Panda, you mean the Nazis that everyone just laughs at and doesn’t take seriously? The people using fascism to fight “fascists” must be better. It’s easy to fight fascists when you label everyone who remotely disagrees with you a fascist.
@AndorraBall, *gasps* what if Antifa are serectly the Nazi's?
@Kangaroo Jacked, Or ya know, actually flying the nazi flag and chanting racial slurs and hate speech. Not all conservatives are “nazis” like some people call them, but literal Nazis exist. Do you not recall Charlottesville?
@CMNDR BUbbles, First off, how is Antifa using fascism? Secondly, I mean the nazis who are holding rallies, getting people to chant "jews will not replace us", praise people who committed genocide, and who literally murdered a person in Charlottesville.
Nazis aren't annoying but lovable internet trolls, they're racist extremists who's principles include genocide and who are becoming way too mainstream.
@K1l, @depressed Panda, oh no! "Hate speech" say it can't be!
yes I recall Charlottesville, and I seem to remember nobody killing any Jews...
today's "Nazi" is just blowhard bigmouth morons who rarely actually do anything. Antifa on the other hand, literally (and I'm using that term correctly) beat an innocent man in a wheelchair simply for trying to attend a speech by Milo Ynapolis.
To say they "aren't good" but are doing good by fighting Nazis, is living in a fairy tale universe. They are fûcking terrorists who use violence to silence anyone who dares disagree with their ultra-progressive ideology.
@Depressed Panda, There is video of Antifa members preparing to massacre their political opponents. One of their members was handing out knives, and several of them had brought guns to a march. In the video, they discuss luring their opposition near their cars so they could open fire. Luckily, the team behind the video tape notified the cops beforehand and all the antifa members involved were arrested. They definitely deserve the level of hate they have, they're literal terrorists.
@Depressed Panda, 1) is using force and intimidation to silence people you disagree with fascist? And I’m not talking about those morons in Charlottesville. I’m talking about the average citizen and speakers like Ben Shapiro (a Jewish man) whom they call a Nazi and Milo Yiannapolis (just married a black man) a White Supremacist.
2) Like it or not, those idiots in Charlottesville had a permit to spew their nonsense. And nothing had escalated until antifa showed up and started fighting with them. No one takes these Nazis seriously and if they had started getting violent before antifa showed up they would’ve be shut down extremely quickly. You’re paranoid if you think these people have a significant impact on society.
I want to respond to your comment, but I'd like to watch the video myself first.
1) I never said they were doing good
2) I said they killed a person, I have no idea if they were a jew. I'm referring to the woman who a nazi ran over when he rammed his car into a crowd of people.
3) I'm saying that Antifa is bad, but hating on them whenever nazis are mentioned prevents criticism of actual nazis from showing up.
4) Please take a close look at your comment and see that you are defending LITERAL, racist, jewish-conspiracy, genocide-supporting, "HEIL HITLER!" Nazis. It's fine to hate on Antifa, but nazis don't deserve to be defended.
@big freedom, where in my comment did I say that antifa are doing good by fighting Nazis? You guys are so concerned with antifa that you’re ignoring the fact that there are literal Nazis in the U.S in 2017. I agree with you that antifa is bad, but don’t act like the Nazis aren’t too. For one, we know what the Nazi ideal can lead to (slaughter of millions of people and a world war) so we shoukd try to prevent the spread of those ideals as much as possible instead of just pointing fingers. Antifa has attacked people and yes, that’s bad and they are terrorists, but so did the Nazis, but that’s all being ignored and the blame is only pointed at antifa. Also keep in mind that antifa is a very VERY small group, and fairly new. it’ll most likley disappear within the next few years.
Condemn both sides, don’t just condemn the side that supports the opposite party.
First one has more background into what was going on. Second one is the raw footage.
1) "If you pay tuition, you're sponsoring the militant homosexual agenda. If you pay taxes, you're sponsoring the militant homosexual agenda. If your child majors in English, you're sponsoring the militant homosexual agenda." -Ben Shapiro
2) Honestly couldn't find anything specifically racist that Milo said. He's still sexist, transphobic, and an @ss though.
3) Sure, Antifa started fights with the nazis. But Antifa didn't LITERALLY MURDER anyone.
4) The only reason antifa EXISTS is because nazis have been way more active recently.
@Depressed Panda, I'm not defending any Nazi. I'm defending ALL speech. Nobody gets to determine what is "hate speech". As soon as you let that happen, someone in power (Trump for instance) will have the ability to silence people that disagree with them. I think we both agree that would be catastrophic.
@big freedom, yes, you can totally define what hate speech is and nazis do it. Even if you refuse to call it hate speech it still is.
@K1l, I will disagree with anyone and everyone who uses violence to silence people they disagree with. I'm saying that the Nazis are a joke. If we allow them to speak, hey will be exposed as the fûcking morons that they are. I don't believe that there are many left, and they are dwindling. Antifa is growing, increasing in violence and people are giving them a pass because they're "fighting Nazis".
If we agree that using violence to silence people is terrible (see my comment above) then we can get along just fine.
@Depressed Panda, ok. So in your opinion, government officials should be able to determine what can or cannot be said. They should be able to actually stop people from making political speech if they determine it's "dangerous or hateful"?
@CriTiKa1, just watched the raw footage one. I honestly couldn't tell if the knives were intended for self-defense or not (to be honest, I would have one on me) but the rest of it seems pretty fücked up and they were definitely planning to start a fight.
I cannot give any defense to those people.
As a general rule though, nazis are still worse than Antifa.
@big freedom, First off, I said nothing about not letting people speak. I'm saying nazis are bad. Secondly, that "political speech" is "america is a country for whites". Lastly, the government can in fact stop someone from speaking if what they are saying is dangerous, such as by inciting panic or violence.
@Depressed Panda, stop avoiding the question. Does the government get to determine "hate speech" and stop it from happening?
@big freedom, you never asked and no
@Depressed Panda, "nazis are still worse than Antifa"!! Lol
If you measure yourself by the absolute worst thing someone can call you... you are despicable. I'd much rather be compared to something amazing and good than by "better than actual nazis".
@Depressed Panda, please explain how exactly I defended Nazis? Because even though I abhor National Socialism I support their right to free speech as long as they don’t get violent?
@big freedom, I'm not getting your point
@Depressed Panda, I never asked??
From 4 comments above copied and pasted:
"So in your opinion, government officials should be able to determine what can or cannot be said. They should be able to actually stop people from making political speech if they determine it's "dangerous or hateful"?"
@big freedom, ok, that's fair. I missed that.
@Depressed Panda, wow cherry pick if you must. Antifa was not in response to Nazis like in Charlottesville. Antifa was a direct result of whiny, communist, college students and professors who couldn’t handle anyone that disagrees with them.
@Depressed Panda, that's ok. Too many comments and not sure which is a reply to which.
What point aren't you getting? (2 comments ago)
1) What's your source for the origin of antifa? That's not really a claim I can just take your word for.
2) The comment about defending nazis was directed at big freedom for his description of nazis as benign. Not at what you said.
@big freedom, I'm not sure if you were referring to antifa as "yourself" and nazis as "the absolute worst thing someone can call you" or if I read that all wrong.
Also yeah, this is getting a bit confusing.
@big freedom, First. The rule has been lately that anytime you bring up a group or subject that isn’t part of the current debate. It’s considered as diverting the topic. Which also means its defending something from the original topic that you’re trying to divert from. Which is why you were getting viewed as defending Nazis. The only reason anyone brings up something that has nothing to do with the current debate is when they are trying to defend a subject in that debate. Why else would someone try to divert attention away.
Second you are incorrect that if we let them speak they’ll be exposed for the morons they are. We let lots of idiots speak all the time. Some end up with a lot of influence and power. Some are even politicians.
That being said. Free speech is that. However free-speech applies both ways. So if you’re going to say something stupid you best be prepared for somebody to call you an idiot.
This may not apply to you. But it’s time for diversionary tactics to end.
@Seohn, it also might have happened because he joined in a debate on the side of AndorraBall who said anti-fascists are worse than Nazis. Big Freedom might have disagreed with this of course :)
(I'm just saying how BF might have been misunderstood, not joining in the debate about whether violent white supremacists calling for ethnic cleansing are better or worse than those who use violence to oppose them.)
@Seohn, we have the politicians we deserve. I am correct, they have been exposed as idiots. Unfortunately for me, most voters side with a team and will vote for their team regardless of how moronic that is.
Yes, call people on their stupidity! Not silence them.
@big freedom, The Nazis were/are pretty violent themselves. I totally agree with you that anyone who uses violence to silence other’s beliefs are absolutely terrible people, but the Nazis are doing the same thing. My point was whenever Nazis are brought up no matter what context, Antifa is brought up and the finger is pointed at them instead of addressing both violent and dangerous situations. Im fairly certain that Antifa is always brought up because the right finally has something of value to blame the left for. Im not saying we shouldn’t talk about Antifa, because they are an issue. But the topic of Nazis and white nationalists always gets sidetracked to Antifa. Like let people say “Nazis are bad people” without jumping in and being all like “wElL aNtIfA iS wOrSeR”
@CriTiKa1, steven crowder and not gay jared!
@Kangaroo Jacked, Yeah, I was incredibly impressed by this video. It was pretty incredible what they were able to uncover. And shocking how the media that was at the site had absolutely no interest in their footage.
@K1l, I think the reason Antifa always gets brought up is because it's something mainstream media refuses to talk about. Even after we found out that they've been considered terrorists for over a year, the media still tries to portray them in a positive light. Whenever you have the media refusing to acknowledge one group but relentlessly attacking the other, then it's pretty obvious why people want to always bring up Antifa.
Sounds like UF tomorrow (October 19) with Richard Spencer showing up. Stay safe, my gator brothers and sisters.
I have yet to come into an conflict with any actual nazis
I don't think that more teens are depressed. I think we're just in an era when it's okay to express negative emotions. It used to be that men had to be stoic and tough and women had to be cheerful and content. Now, we have the freedom to express ourselves.
Yes, because trying to believe a wooden desk would save us from the nuclear attack we were assured would happen any minute was easier. Pvssies
Also ppl are offended by the truth...which is absurd
@king of sharks, No we’re not! Shut up! I’m ‘no platforning’ you because you’re offensive!
@king of sharks, what truths are you referring to?
@Depressed Panda, That depends. What do you believe is true. Lately truth seems to be a relative thing based purely in opinion and speculation instead of facts and evidence.
@king of sharks, Truth is neither good nor evil. Its just that. No matter how much you don’t like it. It doesn’t make it any less true.
Use to be one of my favorite things I use to say to my sister when she would get mad about something.
How did they nazi this coming?
It's the memes.
@Smo Queed, nah, memes are an escape
Aha, because these national socialists cause more harm than antifa or commies.
Fvcking leftist degenerate scum
@Archduke Friedrich, yes. Literally that except not sarcastically and without the leftist scum part.
@Archduke Friedrich, did you just downvote every single comment I made on this picture? Seriously? But you're not gonna actually respond and start a discussion?
@Archduke Friedrich, Well I mean. Last I checked Nazis already caused a lot of harm. But yeah lets divert the topic in an attempt to defend the original subject. Thats why people divert topics. Because they have nothing better to bring to the debate.
Its like when a serious debate topic is happening, all involved are staying on subject. Someones starting to lose so instead he says. Oh look a piece of candy want some. Only instead of candy to throw the subject off. Lately its been antifa every time nazis come up.
Its almost like these people don’t like others bad mouthing nazis or something cause why else would they try to change and divert the subject.
@Depressed Panda, I don't respect your opinion and I want you to look bad by applying downvotes.
My comment basically was a respond to all of the leftists out here, who say the same sh!t
@Archduke Friedrich, ok, so you're an @sshole who can't accept opposing arguments. Good to know.
@Depressed Panda, I don't have to accept opinions, commie scum
1) I'm not a communist. I never said I was
2) "Communist" isn't an insult. This isn't 1960.
3) Accepting other people's opinions is a good thing to learn to do if you ever want them to accept yours
4) Being communist is not inherently bad.
@Depressed Panda, had me crying at 2)
Had me dying at 4)
@Archduke Friedrich, what exactly is so bad about communists?
The ideology goes against human nature itself.
Do me a favor and fvck off now. I don't wanna argue with someone like you
1) "someone like you" meaning?
2) Communism doesn't work, I get it. You just seem to hate communists in general. I'm wondering why
So... Basically all the stuff that people had to go through from 1929 to 1945. And they came out of it. Stop acting like you're the first generation to be dealt a crappy hand.
How many teenagers are wasting their youth worrying about things that they can't do anything about until they are no longer teenagers?
Screw teens; everyone is depressed these days! I'm 24 and I still live every day on the verge of killing myself.
