I feel like getting the Apple Watch is wasting technology
@TR8R, you know I like apple products but I really don’t understand why you would ever want/need an Apple Watch. Sure the Health stuff is great but go out and get something that does the same thing that’s not 400$
@Rowule, isn't that true of all Apple products to some degree?
@TR8R, I knew a kid that had one.. more than half the time it was dead from running out of battery
@TR8R, indeed that's true and buying any apple device is a waste of technology and money
@Rowule, There are plenty of reasons to want one, but I’m struggling to think of reasons to need one.
If you go full fanboy and get an X, wireless AirPods and the watch v2 so you can go out running using the watch to stream music to your AirPods and pay for your gluten-free chai latte protein shake on the way home it’s probably quite good though.
@Tis but a scratch, nah IPhones are the shīt.
@Rowule, I’m a type 1 Diabetic and I can use the Apple Watch to monitor my blood sugar in nearly real time (with a continuous glucose monitor). So I bought one on sale. Only reason I have one though. Ha ha!
@TR8R, fall in line! It’s cool to hate apple!! You’re original! Good job sport!
@celtics313131, maybe you missed the part where I praised the IPhone. I know reading comprehension is hard for you, so I'll let you try again.
@TR8R, I knew you would come back strong, good one mate. Have a good day behind your computer!
People are asking what the point of an Apple Watch is? It’s to enjoy it. Why do you have an Xbox or PlayStation, or TV in general? What do they do? With an Apple Watch, I can do pointless bulls*** like this, and make myself think less about my inevitable death, and the lack of purpose my really short life even has.
@Jordanv, all of those other things provide infinitely more value per dollar than the Apple Watch.
@TR8R, But that’s an opinion, and depends on the user.
@Jordanv, it's not really an opinion. It's a pretty basic fact that I can do far more with TV or game console than an Apple Watch
@Jordanv, I mean if people like their Apple Watch more than their TVs or consoles that's an opinion, and that's fine. But you can really argue that the Watch can provide as many applications and entertainment options haha
@TR8R, You didn’t say “Do more” you said “Provide infinitely more value”, which I say is an opinion. I know people who go on runs everyday and use their watches to track steps and calories burned. I work at Starbucks, and people pay with their watches everyday. It’s also a Watch! But even your statement about doing more isn’t accurate with a myriad of apps at your disposal. It does different things than a TV or console, but it still does a lot.
@Jordanv, it seemed self evident to me that if sometime provides more options than something else it would have more value than the other object. As for tracking steps and calories you can buy a Fitbit that does the same thing for 1/5 the price. Paying I can do with my phone. And a watch I can get with a watch. Everything the Apple Watch does is done better and cheaper by other things.
@TR8R, I don’t have an Apple Watch and I don’t think that I would ever get sufficient value from it to justify it. But, I can see the potential value for other people - yes, there are cheaper alternatives, but for some people the benefits of having everything working smoothly in one device make it worthwhile. Being able to pair up AirPods with your watch and use it to stream music, track your run and pay for a coffee afterwards does sound pretty cool (if a bit too fanboy for me) and justifies it for some people.
Just using it to act as a watch and caller display for your phone (like a lot of people do) however, is a waste of money in my opinion.
@Nellybert , yeah like I said if people like it that's cool, they can buy what they like.
@TR8R, Maybe you’re missing the point, it can be about the branding. Why do people buy a Rolex or a Patek for 1M$ if a 5$ Casio can do the same? Why do people buy a Ferrari if a Toyota can do the same? If You look at the iWatch as a watch and not as a technological device, it’s cheap as fvck
@Fearless Fapper, Rich people buying expensive stuff is a completely different subject. Yeah if I'm a millionaire I'll live the lifestyle. But the Apple Watch isn't marketed to the people buying Rolex or Ferrari.
@TR8R, Pretty sure it is since they’ve made a 24k rose/gold edition worth 30k$. Most people I know that own a Apple watch are watches fanatic, one of them own some Omega/Longines/Rado and prefer his Apple Watch, it’s all about opinion.
@Fearless Fapper, pretty sure it's not 😆 There is toilet paper made with gold fibers woven throughout but that doesn't mean TP is marketed for millionaires. That's a ridiculous assertion.
Even tho I'm a girl, I too want the background of a hairy ape on my Apple Watch
@Mistyblue Ghost, just don’t shave your arms for a few months and you’ll be good :p
First of all eeww
@EddySteady, and it's actually a girls arm. Let that sink in a moment.
And you just wasted $400 dollars
I got mine second hand with a Part exchange on an old phone, and I must say I freaking love the thing
Idk. The pipboy theme is pretty bomb. Pun intended
