About as bad as the "journalist" that wrote the article about him getting ptsd from shooting an ar15 once.
@Richard Cypher, that’s the crazies thing I’ve heard in this app. What the fück.
@Richard Cypher, in case anyone reading is not a gun enthusiast, the AR15 (which doesn’t stand for assault rifle) is an extremely easy to shoot gun. Very loud, but that’s why you have hearing protection. The recoil is less than most rifles and any shotgun, it’s very comfortable to shoot. If you were traumatized by shooting an AR15, then you’d probably be traumatized by a bucket of kittens too.
@FP Waiter, oh yeah it's super easy to shoot. I have one myself. My 12ga has waaaay more recoil and it's still not that bad if you're used to it.
This was a paragraph of the article I mentioned:
"Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection). The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don't know what you're doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary case of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable."
He compared it to a bazooka or a cannon lol
@Richard Cypher, “the brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face” either this guy’s a lefty or he didn’t actually fire the rifle because the casings eject away from you, not across your face
@FP Waiter, have you ever seen a bucket of kittens?! Fvckin’ terrifying!
@Richard Cypher, extra funny because bazooka is slang for RPG and most RPGs are zero recoil
@irishdude, righty or lefty, AR15 brass fires perpendicular to the shooter and past the grip/trigger, so “flying past your face” wouldn’t even be that close to you. Just emotional prose.
@Richard Cypher, gotta love vice! Where drugs and sjw bullshjt is counted as news.
@FP Waiter, Are we sure it was actually an AR-15? The media seem to identify pretty much every gun as either an AR-15, or a Glock (unless it’s an AK47, they seem to be able to recognise those). Perhaps he was trying to fire an M240 from the shoulder - pretty sure that would be a more intense experience! 😂
@Nellybert , true, but the article directly references the AR15 platform and the video shows an AR15. (Although it’s usually called a “military style weapon” of course)
@FP Waiter, Sounds fairly conclusive then.
@Nellybert , I would pay good money to see that reporter shoot an M240 or even just some 3” shotgun slugs. See how the AR15 feels after that lol
@FP Waiter, one of the meanest guns I've fired is a WWII M1 Garand. That thing was gnarly but oh so satisfying
@TR8R, I am jelly
@TR8R, I am also jealous
I shot a Thompson out at front sight, and it is an awesome gun
But I still want to try a Garand
@FP Waiter, I haven't shot my AR15 yet, but my old SKS chucked em right in my face. But I shot that since I was 10, so I was used to it
@TR8R, fantastic weapon to fire
@FP Waiter, I have one as well. Very easy to shoot. Not traumatizing in the least. At least if he said 12ga slugs I could kinda understand. Just a little bit.
@Richard Cypher, if he got bruises from an AR-15, he bruises like a peach...
@RogueKnight, I’ve held an AR15 like a pistol in one hand and shot it to demonstrate how little recoil there is, I’ve heard of people putting the butt against their crotch and shooting but I’m not that brave... regardless, neither are bruise-worthy
@TR8R, hey gun people. I have lived in blue states mostly but I've got a question for you. I am reasonably certain that my grandfather has an M-1 garand directly off the beaches of Normandy. He was a teen in the French resistance and traded a revolver for it with an American soldier that was more interested in having a souvenir.
So... I kinda think I might be willing to have a gun in my house for this marvelous piece of history. I'm an Eagle Scout and not scared of guns but never had enough enthusiasm to pay all the permits and such. So let's say I decided to take this rifle (that the French gov't doesn't know about) and try and get it to Westchester NY. How difficult and how much might that whole experience be? Any advice would be great.
@Honaw Fierceclaw, the sound of the clip ejecting was oh so amazing
I read as much as i could tolerate of that article. The "man" sounds like a total beta cuck, which isn't a word I use lightly given how it's been overused. I thought it was satire, but this twat is apparently unable to differentiate between reality and fiction - typical of his type
We live in a world or morons and p*ssies.
End orc racism today
Reading the story to this, I kinda get it, but I doubt I’d have as hard a time playing the game.
@Berntley, it’s like one of those “how to survive a zombie apocalypse” guides. At first you read for fun and then something clicks and before you know you’ve built a safety bunker with 5 emergency exits.
@Berntley, whatever you do in this game, it won't be half as bad as some of the things you've done to your Sims. I guarantee it
