You leave the Avatar alone!
@Cenyoawakened, can we still make fun of korra? I mean Ill agree on its own its a good show, but it shìts all over the story and LORE of the original. I mean seriously they jump from ancient China, to the prohibition age in like 60 years. Toph used to be the only metal bender because it is so hard it was thpught to be impossible, yet now people are just metal bending as easily as any other form. And dont even get me started on how origin of the first avatar. The original show said the first benders were the Skybison, the dragon, badger moles, and the moon. But then korra decided nah it was all the lion turtles.
Again I likr the show by itself, but dont even pretend that any of it makes sense with the avatar universe we were previously shown
@Duncan5769, I love Korra as a show. Possibly as much as the original or more. But you're not wrong it threw the script out the window.
@Cenyoawakened, ok im just glad im not the only one to see that
@Duncan5769, I can’t say about the lion turtles (but for real how would the moon/sky bison/moles give power to control the elements to humans?) but the metal bending thing is because Toph taught the later generation earth benders on how to metal bend. It’s a common trope where something is thought to be near impossible then someone finally manages to do it and is able to teach others about it and it becomes mainstream.
@Duncan5769, really? The Fire Nation was not at the technological level of Ancient China in the original. It makes perfect sense that a unified world building off that technology could reach the level we see in Korea in 60 years. Also Toph "invented" metal bending because her blindness allowed her to "see" the earth particles in the metal which allowed her to realize metal bending was even possible. Earthbenders never even tried before that, or if they did they didn't have the knowledge that Toph later was able to give them. And lastly the benders learning their elements from animals always pissed me off. It made way more sense to me that it would be spirit related, particularly since the Avatar is the bridge between worlds.
@TR8R, you have a good point about tophs metal bending, but i disagree that civilization could progress that fast. Also the avatar isnt the bridge anymore thanks to korra, opening the portal
@Duncan5769, Are you actually serious? Look how fast we have progressed in 60 years. And they already basically had the beginnings of Industrial Age tech. Hell the fire nation invented tanks and goddamn massive mechanical airships within the timeframe of the show. Refusing to accept that for Korra is nothing more than pigheadedness.
@Duncan5769, and Korra opening the portals doesn't have anything to do with what I said. My point was the bending being spiritual in nature made way more sense than it being from watching animals lol
@TR8R, And my point is that korra didnt give a shît about the avatar script they changed a lot. As i said i like korra, you seem to not understand that, im saying they didnt atick to the aource material, now please stop getting so butthurt about someone disagreeing with you about a cartoon
@Duncan5769, Don't call people butthurt because they proved you wrong. Makes you look like a sore loser. My point was just because a few things got retconned doesn't mean they "didn't give a shīt" about the original show. So much of Korra is basically a homage to the original.
@TR8R, excwpt you didnt proove me wrong. So please read carefilly because you javent so far.
I lioe the show
I think it didnt do a good job adapting the avatar universe.
You have added onto that last point , but certainly not prooved me wrong.
In fact when you called me out on toph and metal bending i said yeah you know what youre right on that one.
You are looking for an argument sir, but I want only to talk.
@Duncan5769, I was referring to the progress of the world. I can't "prove" that it did a good job adapting the avatar universe because that's entirely subjective. I loved both shows and think they both are amazing for different reasons. And I missed the Toph comment, so I'm sorry about that
@Duncan5769, I agree with what @tr8r is saying for the most part.
—Both the earth and fire nations were pretty well into a technology age and with them coming together in republic city it make sense that they are able to progress faster than they would have by themselves.
—they retconned the part about the first benders so that it would make more sense tbh. The only one that kinda made sense were Dragons teaching firebending, but the dragons in Avatar aren’t like dragons in other shows that have magic and can speak. So they changed it from being “humans learnt how to literally control the elements by watching some animals and the moon” to “ancient animal connected to the spirit” heck even in TLAB a lion turtle gave Aang the Energy Bending ability so it stands to reason that lion turtles could have always given humans bending and that over 2 thousand years or so (however long harmonic convergence takes to recharge) the humans might have forgotten or altered the story about how they
@Duncan5769, got bending in the first place because by the time Aang was the avatar all but one of the lion turtles had been killed off
@nemestrinus , I guess thats a fair point, but I think I was just really dissapointed by the origin story is all. Again I never wanted an argument, maybe i shouldnt have called him butthurt, but youve both made some good points.
Damn I hate trolls like this.
This just in, the avatar has stepped down in light of allegations of sexual harrassment
What about my cabbages!
So is Aang like a reverse loli?
So basically the Muhammad?
