Sure, he’s the “first” gay guy to do ice skating in the olympics
@K1l, openly is the key word
@K1l, the first to be confident enough to be open about it. First OPENLY gay athlete. I’m sure there were others, they just felt afraid they’d be removed or discriminated against if they were out
Oh yeah that homophobic reporter
@Richard Cypher, he “murdered” them? Quality journalism at its finest. *CNN*
@Richard Cypher, that quote is without the context of the rest of the article
@Pubmarine Shamwich, that’s not part of the article it’s just someone commenting on it
My brother is gay and I asked him why this is news. He said he hates when his people get attention like this, like what this guy is doing is some huge deal! Being gay isn’t something you should receive an award for, you just like penis over clam! His words, not mine!
@celtics313131, yea but its an award to those who arent gay and try to show how accepting and amazing they are to be promoting a gay person in an instance like this, or it could be the saying "Oh i want a gay best friend". Literally all we really want is to be treated just the same as hetero people in whatever walk of life we are in and even when we talk bout sex and romance. Ive found i limit myself when talking to straight guy friends about guys i like cause im not sure how far i can go that they would with girls. Overall its fine sometimes. Anyway. Sorry for the rant. It was more just giving insight. Im agreeing with your brother basically
@celtics313131, Yea that’s what I’ve always found really idiotic and honestly counterproductive with Social Justice stuff like this. Why are you rewarding people for admitting they’re a thing if you want them to be treated like everyone else. If you want all people to be treated like normal people don’t put em on a fvckin pedestal for being gay or trans or stuff like that. The appropriate reaction in my mind would be just a shrug or an “oh, interesting.” Not “WHAT A GLORIOUS SOUL YOU ARE FOR BEING...GAY!”
@celtics313131, it's not news for him being gay, it's news for that clapback
How was the reporter homophonic for asking a genuine question? He likely wanted to know if there were any problems he faced due to his sexuality or if people treated him differently.
@Stalker Ent, I can’t stand sh!t like that. People throw around terms like racist, homophobe, etc way too much.
@Stalker Ent, he asked some pretty insensitive questions if you read the actual article, but in this context it does seem uncalled for
@Stalker Ent, well the reporter could have asked the majority of male figure skaters from the last few decades. Openly or not, everyone knew who was gay, and they could state how they were treated. Not newsworthy at all. In fact, sexual orientation is unrelated to talent
You mean to tell me not one US figure skater was openly gay before this year? I'm calling BS
Clearly the reporting is a homophobe for asking a pretty obvious question.
I do not believe for a moment that the first gay figure is in 2018. Figure skating isn’t something most straight men get into.
Seems like a buzzfeed article. F*cking f*ggots.
Like we didn’t know Johnny Weir was gay until he told us...
Apparently we have a pretty broad definition of murder now.
Apparently this dude murdered a bunch of people. ARE WE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT THIS?!!
Pretty sure all the male figure skaters are gay
His eyebrows arent even that good, just the bare minimum of maintenance!
That's not nice. He shouldn't Rippon them
