So regarding Jurassic Park, not a single frame was shot in the Jurassic period.
@Stacys daughter ,umm... that is literally the whole point of the movie
@Meta1ACE, you know my comment sounded smart in my head up until now.
@Stacys daughter , I get your joke, and I think the whole thing is dumb, but to be a stickler. The story of the black panther takes place in Africa, so maybe could see their point a little. The story of Jurassic Park took place in our era not the Jurassic period. (Edited to say that I did not read Meta1ace’s comment or that you commented after him)
@Stacys daughter , I didn't realize until I saw @meta1ACE's comment that what you said didn't make sense
@Stacys daughter , they usually do.
I know right?! They had the budget to film in Asgard but not in Africa?!
Is wakonda in Africa? I thought it was an island. Now that I'm thinking about it, where are the savage lands? Antarctica right?
@GunSupporter, No, it’s in South Dakota. I was going to make a joke about not being able to find it on Google Maps, but there it is, just south of Sioux Falls.
Dude just take it!!
@megamanx181x, NO! I have the opportunity to be offended, and you try to deny me again!!! How dare you sirrrrrrrrr!?
@big freedom, don’t give in to the internet habit of being triggered! Be grateful! Be happy!!
@big freedom, did you just assume it's gender???!!! REEEEEEEEEEEE
Hey marvel, you should do a movie on white pride next
*disclaimer I don't really care it's just a joke *
@Fluffy Cat, *waves giant rebel flag*
@FriendlyPlatypus, don't do that you'll only attract the supporters of it to defend it and the haters of it to burn it and cause... An internet war...
@Fluffy Cat, meh, I'm of the former, so come at me.
@Fluffy Cat, good idea.
@Fluffy Cat, *gasp* HE SAID A THING, REEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
@Fluffy Cat, They did, it was called Captain America.
@Nellybert , hmmm I guess you're right
Yes because rich people going into Africa and using resources they don't have to film an American entertainment project that probably won't benefit the African people is the better option.
Also if there's no Captain Alex cameo, I will be pissed.
@SimonPetrikov, you are right. There is no winning. It would have been “exploiting black people” if they did it in Africa
@madeyoulook2, Didn’t the Resident Evil team get accused of racism for setting one of the games in Africa a few years back?
@Nellybert , it wouldn’t surprise me
Wakanda's not real!!!
@ptitty1231, Yes it is - it’s a town in South Dakota, near Sioux Falls I think.
@Nellybert , nah man that's WAKONDA, not WAKANDA
@ptitty1231, Ah, oops. There’s a Lake Wakanda in Minnesota though
And the Winchesters drove all around America but its actually Canada.
@CrazyRightWinger, Walking Dead is probably one of the few things filmed where they say it is - a lot of it was set and filmed in Georgia (I think).
So regarding Avatar, not a single frame was shot on Pandora. Nor did they even have a real Na'vi in the movie! Not one
@Young Man Logan, so regarding the Shape of Water, not a single scene was shot inside dimension where water holds on specific shape and doesn't conform to its container
So regarding Pirates of The Caribbean, not a single frame was shot in the ocean.
@Thane of Deez, So regarding Operation Dumbo Drop, not a single scene was shot in Roseanne's bathroom
@SirLoveday, you misspelled Rosie O’Donnell*
This movie was touted from the beginning celebrating African Pride with it's primarily African cast. But where I have an issue with this is that it was possible for them to shoot in Africa. It's not possible to actually shoot in space at this point and I'm not going to address the people talking about Jurassic Park. I actually agree with the original poster on this one. Just shoot one scene in Africa or something.
@Mrod27, yeah but tax breaks and other such deals and agreements might've made what they did more viable, for example the most recent Mad Max was shot in Africa and not Australia because it was cheaper. Pride aside they're still a company.
@Mrod27, why? Seriously, why does where they shoot the movie matter?
@JBird7337, I get all that, but it just seems weird with all the cultural aspects of the movie playing a big role in its marketing not to shoot a couple scenes in Africa or show off some landscapes and sites.
@Mrod27, It’s portraying a fictional land with fictional technology in a fictional version of Earth with alien god beings. Just because it wasn’t shot there doesn’t mean they won’t get the culture of Wakanda(again, fictional) across properly. If it looks like it’s supposed to well then that’s all that matters.
@TheRatMan, I was more talking about how with who they cast to play the characters that they used the fact that the majority are black as part of their marketing. Since they did that yoh would expect them to shoot scenes from their fictitious movie in an African setting (since Wakanda literally is taken from African sounding countries and language) or at least include some landscape or something.
@Mrod27, soooo how many cast members are from Africa, i dont mean how many are black either cause black people come from other places besides africa.
Black people, gay people and women complaining about movies really is an embarrassment to themselves .
@CooksAndComedy, so who CAN complain?
@SirLoveday, no one. We act like adults and work together and not let higher ups and special interests groups tear us apart. Just live your life and stop committing crimes and stop blaming the world for your problems. Your career and destiny is to do you. Regardless of your race. If you hang I’d ghettos with gangs and drugs, you deserve what happens. No one is forcing you or stay. If you let someone’s words affect you, you’re weak.
@CooksAndComedy, yeah! That's right! But when I tell a judge I won't let her little words like "guilty" or "concurrent life sentences" hold me back, I'm the criminally insane one and in contempt
Technically Earth is in Space. Time also.
@ToadsWetSocket, ughhh you must be a delight at parties...
@big freedom, jokes on you. I don’t get invited.
