They screwed the rebels by bringing in a guy who acted as a mole. Yes the story would change, and probably more rebels would have survived.
@Herpaderp1234, MOLE! Moley moley moley moley!
@Herpaderp1234, the first order still had a scanner that could detect cloaked ships, all he did was remind them to use it (which should have been done regardless)
@Herpaderp1234, Personally, I liked their storyline. It brought back some much needed world building, and was overall entertaining. It also reminded the audience that the rebels were fighting for more than just themselves or to take Down their enemy.
@Herpaderp1234, including luke technically
@turtleface, you said mole
@turtleface, I want to chop it up and make guacaMOLEy
@Toxia, but there would've been a might high concentration of unmelenated* honkies on screen.
@Cocaine Jedi, a high concentration of what now?
@Toxia, gatdang scruffynecked nerfhearders!
@Cocaine Jedi, oh, why didn’t you say so?
@Toxia, I was scared of downvotes
@Herpaderp1234, if anyone screwed the pooch, it was that worthless mess in love with Finn
@Herpaderp1234, But how did he know about the plan? No one he was with knew about the plan, so how did he find out? That bugs me.
And if you took Indiana Jones out of The Raiders of the Lost Ark, the story would also not change. Just because the hero failed doesn’t mean their story was pointless.
@I Are Lebo, if it weren’t for Indiana constantly helping the bad guys in last crusade the bad guys would have never have even found the place where the holy grail was kept.
@BearDaniels, yes they would have. Some of the intervening events may have been slightly different, and it may have taken the villains a little longer, but they’d have found it and killed themselves with it without Indy.
@I Are Lebo, “with it with it without”
@Donald Trump, thank you
@I Are Lebo, “with it without”
Are you testing me?
@Donald Trump, it’s grammatically correct now, so no I’m not.
@I Are Lebo, I gotchya 👍
@Donald Trump, fake news
Her sister did more in the film than Rose did
Barley, that lazy butterfingers
I wouldn't have minded it as much had it focused on developing Finn. Instead we get Rose preaching about animal rights and the 1% with all of the subtlety of a Facebook post and Benicio Del Toro lazily reading off of a teleprompter the writers' version of "moral ambiguity," which amounts a tell don't show version of "good guys do bad stuff in war, hurr Durr, we're the first ones to make this point."
Lately these memes have been bad at bashing The Last Jedi. They get something completely wrong and were made by someone just hating on it. Had Rose and Fin not done what they did it would’ve changed the story. The rebels would’ve escaped because the first alliance didn’t think to search for cloaked ships. Fin and Rose would have never picked up the guy who sold them out.
A lot of us watched it without our nostalgia overriding our ability to simply enjoy the movie and liked that they did something new.
I’d guess the same people b!t(hing about this movie also complained that the last movie was too much like episode 4.
The lesson is there’s no way these movies could be as good as the originals if you go in there only watching it for nostalgic purposes. Because there’s absolutely no way you will ever be happy with the way the movies turn out if all you do is compare it to the original movies. There’s no way they could satisfy these type of people.
@Seohn, it’s like these Memes were made by someone who didn’t actually pay attention to the story or the movie because they were too busy hating it because it didn’t live up to their nostalgic influenced view of the originals.
@Seohn, I actually like the fact that the good guys didn’t just come out on top unscathed. Kind of like in episode 5. It makes their small victory that much more epic since it was far more difficult for them to succeed.
If you like or hate it for legitimate reasons thats fine. But this meme and the creator of it. Obviously just wanted to bash it since he is completely wrong about the part Fin and Rose played.
Sorry that Luke didn’t invade the First Order like he did the Death Star and just beat the crap out of Kylo while Yoda rode on his back the whole time.
Also I liked this version of Luke too. Older, wiser, but also not untouched psychologically by the events in his life. After all he fought in the wars in episodes 3, 4, and 5. I can relate to how difficult times in ones life can leave you changed. So those that think Luke could not have ended up like that after 30 years between Episode 6 and 7. Perhaps you’re young and naïve and have yet to face difficult trials in your life.
@Seohn, Thats not to say I don’t have my complaints. It annoys me when in movies and TV shows The people who are supposed to be in charge don’t actually let the people they are leading in on what’s happening. Plans go the way they are supposed to a lot better if the right people are in the loop. Withholding information when you shouldn’t be is pointless, stupid, and bad leadership. That being said, I still like this movie. I’m not going to completely hate the movie because of that one reason. Just like any other TV show I’m not going to completely hate it all because they used that to build a story.
Still not as useless as the porgs
@Sexy Homunculus, they certainly added to their bank account with the merchandise
@K1l, personally I'd rather see those ice foxes turned into toys. I wouldn't mind getting a cute plush version of one if they made it
@Sexy Homunculus, those things looked so badass, I hope they’re used more, but I doubt it since they’re probably done with that planet
@K1l, exactly. Maybe they'll show up again in Rian Johnson's upcoming trilogy. Here's hoping
I mean if you think that hacker dude isn't coming back. You don't know how to trilogy
Not gonna lie, I hate Finn. The guy can't act and he doesn't do jack for the plot
The point of their story line was character development for Finns character. At the beginning of this movie Finn was the same cowardly man just trying to get away from the bad guys. But by seeing the sacrifices made and by the means of this storyline, by the end of the last Jedi Finn was actually a dedicated member of the resistance and was not just worried about saving ray and running away. Also as a side note, the reason the ports exist is the island they filmed on had thousands of birds. Instead of spending the money to have them digitally removed, they spent roughly the same amount to make a cute little creature for funsies
Ugh, tired of everyone bitching about this movie. Sure it had a an hour of stupid and unneeded plot and very little happened and Leia used her space magic when she previously had no need of it to be a strong amazing character. But get over yourselves. It's not the director or writers fault that you walked in with expectations of it respecting the previous seven entries of possibly the most well known and beloved series of all time. That's your bad you big babies. Quit loving things and you won't be disappointed next time.
My exact complaint about the movie
They were completely unnecessary and cheapened the show
Same with Matt Damon's entire storyline in Interstellar. It would have been the same exact movie, but with a much more reasonable run time
Would have been a more interesting movie, well a shorter one at least.
