@Irrelevance , as someone who worked at AMC, my managers told me to stop people with food. Instead I told them to put it under their coat/in their purse. I think they knew I did that but I was their best employee
There was an Edwards theater where I used to live that had an unspoken rule, once you were inside, you could see as many movies as you wanted that day.
As a former theater manager, we had a no outside food policy because our city required us to have a full restaurant license... we couldn’t risk our license because you brought food in, just like any other restaurant.
@obtuse gopher, I work at a theater at the moment and we don’t allow outside food so I think this one is not true. If we know about the food, drink, or candy not bought from us it has to be either eaten before entering, we hold onto it, or it goes into the trash.
My roommate was a theatre GM and a close family member was a first assistant. Between them they have worked at 7? theaters. To be fair all Regal. You can’t bring food in to theirs.
