If only... *Sighs heavily at his 4mb/s download speed that costs $80/month*
@ThatGuyYouKnow, wow! You get 4mb/s? That's almost three times faster than my internet speed.
@Raki Zaki, that's what I pay for but most days it's about half that speed... Sadly
@ThatGuyYouKnow, are you serious? I pay $80 and I’m getting about 287mb/s
@Eltrompetista, yeah I’m pretty sure he’s just being facetious
@TR8R, sadly he probably isn’t. Where I live it’s $79.99 for 5mb. Most days it’s closer to 2. If it rains I get .6-.8. Yay crappy ISP. One town over they have 200mb for $50.
@TR8R, I wish I was joking. I live on a mountain, the speeds are atrocious. A lot of days it has trouble buffering a video at 480p. I get to use funny pics because of 2 bars of 4g. It really is terrible here.
@ThatGuyYouKnow, what they don't tell you is the latency is 3 months. Which I guess is fine for patient turn-based gamers. Not so great for Overwatch.
@ThatGuyYouKnow, i pay 160 a month and i get 850 mb/s
@ThatGuyYouKnow, I'm paying $90 for the same. All I can get is DSL so I have to pay for a phone line.
@ThatGuyYouKnow, move off the damn mountain! But seriously that is awful I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that. You must have the patience of a saint
AT&T U-Verse with gigabit fiber optics!
10 gigabit speed with SpaceX
@Super GingerBoy, 10,000,000 mbit/s. 8 bits to a byte. 1000MB to a Gb so... This actually ends up being 1250 GB/s or 1.25Tb/s
Is this real? I mean I doubt it will be real with those speeds, but has he done something like this; unveiling plans for internet speeds and rates for them?
@MrLampoon, I think the pic is just a joke and elon musk has absolutely nothing to do with this. I've seen the pic without him. I think they just added him cause it's relevant to what he does.
@MrLampoon, I don't know about how real the picture is, but SpaceX are actually trying to set up a way to give fast access to the entire net at a lower cost for the entire world. There's a bunch of news articles on it. I don't know if they've ever actually talked about pricing or speeds, and I don't know if the picture is authentic, but you can probably safely expect SpaceX to become an internet provider in the next few years. They've got a project going to launch the required satellites into orbit right now, actually.
@Marida Cruz, thanks for your reply. I read about the satellites being launched and I’m hyped for it!
Honestly I don’t see a good reason that anyone who can afford the $30 plan shouldn’t take it. Let’s be real most of us pay 2-3x that just for our mediocre internet service anyway. My biggest strike against it is it’s satellite. I don’t want my connection to crap out in a rain storm. That’s why I have cable internet now, I’ve had friends who have pay-per-view programs that they got crappy reception because of that. You payed extra and got denied service... that just doesn’t sit right with me
@The Xenocide, Unless this phone plan can reach you no matter where you are, it would be difficult for some people to get it even if it's affordable because they wouldn't be able to call anyone from home. If that's not an issue, Imma jump on it immediately.. If this is even real, that is...
@The Xenocide, even of this becomes reality most people will not have the hardware to utilize that kind of speed. A big question for a lot of people will be latency though. Which is why a lot of people hate satellite internet.
I want this. I want this so badly. My butthole is sore from being fvcked by AT&T and Verizon
I'll need the Pro. I plan to do a lot of planet hopping in the next 10 years.
Has nobody seen Kingman?!? This is how it all starts
Can this guy stop promising shlt and deliver already?
@Iswearimfunny, what the heck do you think all the test flights they've been doing are, just for show?
