I'm not sure how to feel about far cry 5.... it's a fun enough game, but I feel like they missed the mark a bit. They had a chance to make a real great game, but don't really take it seriously enough. And maybe that's just far cry' s style. But what I really don't like is the guns available... you're telling me that the most available gun in a farming community in Montana is a high end military rifle? They should have started it with guns that farmers would have.... double barrel shotguns, a few hand guns, bolt action rifles, and then make you work your way up to the high tech stuff. I just don't feel like I really care about the story, like I haven't gotten sucked in and want to save the people.... What do you guys think?

@TheDoctorsTARDIS, The story missed its mark a bit with involuntary missions that don't do much different from other quests. But the acting is fantastic and the world is very exciting to traverse. The cult and its effect on the area are best explored through your own encounters with them and in the world. Like NPC dialogue, letters to read, and the environmental and emergent storytelling that this game uses moreso than it seems. Some people may find it jarring that it takes on a very serious tone with its story and with the cult, but very quickly shifts to a sort of adventure comedy everywhere else. I just find it very hard to get bored with this game. And there's a lot of suspension of disbelief needed to get by some things. The only Far Cry to have been baked in reality was 2. Every other is very much about the game doing it's thing without regards to what's realistic.

@RiffRaff, yeah but the single most common rifle is a high end military rifle? And everybody and their mom has one? And highly expensive rifles too, as well as anti-materiel .50 cal rifles? It just seems silly that you are dropped into the middle of the world, and can immediately access high end firearms. And that it's the most common rifle. Like, yeah lots of people have AR-15's, but seeing how it's a farming community, you would see more hunting style rifles. So I think they should have made it more difficult to access those guns. And also, there are almost no customization options for firearms.

@RiffRaff, well it's a fundamentalist religious cult that has taken over a farming community in Montana. These guys are running around with no shirts on and shooting at you with assault rifles.... it just doesn't fit I don't think. Like, if they bum rush you with shotguns, and some guys were more trained (like as you progress, the head guy will send his 'chosen' after you) then they have the better gear, that makes sense. But having literally EVERYBODY armed with the same gun? And your only options for SMGs are an MP-5 or an MP-40.... they have 3 different styles of mp5, but it's really only 2 types of smgs available.
I actually just got this game with my buddy, the introduction left me speechless, if you gameshare with someone this is for sure a game you should try. Far cry 5
