Ive never driven a stick myself but (and please someone verify this for me) is it suppose to be more like...
R 1 3 5
2 4 6
@PunnyBaker, yup the Pic is 50% right
@PunnyBaker, or 1-5 and reverse is where 6 is in your layout (5speed)
@DrawinAblank, that's how mine is. So I was extra confused by the placement of the reverse.
@PunnyBaker, that was the layout of my last car in uk 🇬🇧 ( lift the collar on the stick to push it to reverse )
@Johnny Karate, yeah I've driven them both ways. I prefer reverse down to the right. Up to the left is for first gear imo
@PunnyBaker, yep. But some 5 speed cars have reverse where 6 is
This is painful to look at. Please someone tell me this is photoshop... or at least lie to me about it
@hard mickeys fingers, it’s okay, this is the shifting scheme for the turboencabulator; a truly revolutionary, but immensely expensive transmission that will probably end up being the greatest transmission that was never built.
@hard mickeys fingers, this is Photoshop
@SurgeonSean, Are you lying for his sake? That sounds nifty as shìt, and I'd like to learn more.
@Havel The Roque, YouTube holds the answers you seek....
@hard mickeys fingers, as a car guy this hurts more than a knee to the nuts
@SurgeonSean, Fiiiiiiine, I guess I'll do stuff
@hard mickeys fingers, it's from a tech college commercial. Which kinda makes it worse
@hard mickeys fingers, the surgeon is partially right... In the turboencabulator, the R is supposed to be where the 3 is. Unless if it's equipped with a Flux capacitor.... In that case, this picture is correct :)
Yeah, everyone knows you go into the Race gear after 6th. R should be on the right side. Duh...
I have never driven stick shift but those arcade machines told me this is wrong
It's not the Position of the "R" that is weird. This shift pattern is another five-speed shift pattern which can be found in Saabs, BMWs, some Audis, Eagle, Volvos, Volkswagens, Škodas, Opels, Hyundais, most Renaults, some diesel Fords, most Holden/Vauxhalls and more.
456. Suggests that it is probably clutchless past 1 and R.
But our 2013 Hyundai genesis coupe has that exact set up.....
@GordonDOV , then the Hyundai engineers were on drugs when they designed it
@GordonDOV , no it doesn't
@CrazyRightWinger, yes it does? I would like to hope that my car isn't lying to me
@GordonDOV , I just looked up the shift pattern for a 2013 Genesis coupe and didn't see a single one with this pattern. I 5hink you should take a closer look at the picture and your car and compare
So you guys dont shift from first to fourth? Wimps.
I test drove a mustang like this and immediately got after trying to get into first gear
I saw this and then just felt it physically slam into my chest like I was shifting into reverse in my old car.
That would be so awkward to drive
@Diabolik, you think this would be awkward look up a super 10 speed tranny. They are dumb af
I feel like even if you’ve never driven stick, you should know that’s not right. Like you ever play the video games at the arcade?
I just looked it up, it does not have that pattern. That would be the stupidest design ever. Are you sure it's not an automatic?
