So, you mean like all the European citizens that came here in the 1600s and 1700s who had few legitimate skills, little education, and didn't speak the native language?
@darkness my friend, when everyone were farmers and the US wasn't a welfare state? Times are a bit different now
@darkness my friend, Yes the girl is wrong. It's like asking "what's wrong with the criminal" and her saying "he's stupid."
That's not the problem. The problem is that they're illegal, meaning they are not trusted by the government, could have illegal substances, could be selling on the black market, cheated the people who are getting green cards approved, possibly taking jobs that could go to needy Americans [blabla rep. bllsht, still possible], and could be bringing over more illegal immigrants.
Even if mice seem 'harmless', you don't keep them in your house. Even if it's a small problem at first, eventually they grow in number and ruin your home.
Things have changed after 3 generations? Imagine that...
@Babuscha, probably a poor representation of tomi lahrens hypocrisy, but she is a hypocrite
@Babuscha, things haven't changed, people have just lost their perspective
@TheWhiteWolf, There was never any perspective to lose lol
@TheWhiteWolf, things haven’t changed...? Giant, sparsely populated, country with too many resources and not enough people to fill the jobs. That doesn’t sound a lot like US today.
@big freedom, with regard to the situation an immigrant is in, no they haven't. You're still loving to a new place with new people that likely speak a language other than your own. People today forget that 100 years ago their grand or great-grandparent were in the same situation immigrant from Europe or Latin America are in today. To dismiss them out of hand because of the same lack of skills their own families once had is ignorant. In 100 years the children of the immigrants of today will be in the same situation as these people are in today
@TheWhiteWolf, but they came intending to assimilate and settle. Now people come intending to maintain own culture, and send back resources to their families back in their home country. I work in tech, and there are thousands and thousands of people doing exactly what I’ve described above.
@Hoban Washburne, well she can speak all the hypocrisy she wants as long as it’s directly onto my scrotum
@Diddle Kid, amen. fvck her, but oh man would i fvck her
@Hoban Washburne, what makes her a hypocrite, though?
@the fork, shes VERY biased on partisan lines when it comes to free speech. she rails against peaceful democratic protest, labeling them as unamerican whining babies. she spat fire at colin kaepernick, and slammed the pvssy protests (both peaceful) but defended republican equivalents very hard, like the protests against the removal of civil war statues. both parties have their jerks but tomi lahrens one of the worst perpetrators of the whole “if my party does it its ok, if yours does it its awful” paradigm we see all over the place
@Hoban Washburne, i don't think these situations are all equal to begin with. She never wanted Keap to be thrown in jail for his protest, she used her free speech to voice her distaste. Just because you have freedom of speech doesn't mean you're not a baby in the way you exercise it at times. She's definitely partisan, and I find that most people who claim to not be are just trying to claim a moral high ground for it and really lean one way or another.
I'm not saying you, or anyone else should like her, but supporting right causes and not left causes is not hypocritical, it's just being on the right, just as people on the left do the same.
Don't insult fox it's not that you shouldn't it's like kicking a can too easy and it doesn't actually solve anything
@eleven, cnn too.
Sad that we have to fact check the nightly news.
@NameyMcNameFace, my favorite was CNN doing a news story on how many scoops of ice cream Trump had. And people wondered why he called them fake news.
@eleven, watch BBC. Or don’t watch anything and read all the news. You don’t need people telling you what to think.
@Oujosh29, my favorite CNN moment isn't political. It was "Breaking News Titanic sunk 102 years ago tonight"
@Oujosh29, my favorite was when he was feeding th Kio fish in China. They edit the video to make it seem like he was insulting China by dumping the entire bowl of fish food but it turns out that he only did it after China’s leadership did it. Sad.
@Oujosh29, well did he have that many scoops of ice cream? If it was factual it wasn’t fake it just wasn’t news.
All four of my grandparents came to Canada after the Holocaust, not knowing the language or the culture. All four of them learned the language, got jobs, and supported their families.
It’a not impossible to assimilate into a new society. It’s hard, but necessary.
In contrast, I went to high school with a bunch of Chinese kids who were born in Canada and spoke nothing but Mandarin because their parents emigrated from China and never even tried to assimilate into society. They carved out their little nooks of Chinatown like spaces where all the stores operate in Mandarin and they never learn English.
It’s frustrating when people think they can just go to a new country, take their slice of resources, and give nothing back without joining any communities but their own. If you don’t want to be a Canadian, don’t emigrate to Canada. If you don’t want to be an American, don’t emigrate to America. It’s pretty simple. Those extra rights and privileges come with responsibilities.
@I Are Lebo, gotta give back after you take what is needed to sustain well being. Can’t just horde it. My student workers are from all over the planet and they give so much more than they take.
@I Are Lebo, I couldn't care less if someone comes to this country with no plans to assimilate. Just come legally, and pay taxes like everyone else. People think everyone on the right screams "ah! Immigrants!" But we love that people come here to start a new life. Just do it right. (Yes I definitely think we should change the immigration system because, like everything else run by the government, it's ass)
@Fun Facts 101, yeah, the reason so many people go to the USA illegally or overstay their visas is because it’s REALLY hard to do so legally. I sympathize, but I view illegal immigrants getting screwed over the same way I look at drug dealers who get mandatory minimums of life in prison. Yeah, the punishment doesn’t really fit the crime, and it’s unfair, but you knew the risks and you decided to go for it anyway.
My question. Why is suckpixel posting all these cattle prodding memes that none of us community members submitted. Just big brother stirring the pot of you ask me. Love y’all.
There’s also an old video cassette from 1823 where Tomi lahrens ancestors can clearly be heard speaking pig latin.
I got nothing but respect for someone who stands up for what they believe and don’t even mind calling out their own family on it. But really, all that they did was prove her ancestors came here legally. So thanks for that I guess
Yeah pointing out that a woman had no education or skills in the 1890s is redundant. All they did was raise the children it's the husband that matters. And that's even assuming that this random person on the internet isn't lying. It's as stupid as criticizing ivanka for being an illegal immigrant. She's not illigal she's married to Donald trump.
We need the person runnin Wendys Twitter to run Ancestry.com's
I lost respect for the news when people lost their sh!t over Obama putting his feet on the Oval Office desk
