Hello fellow humans, excuse me while I tell a story: so I’m interning in DC this summer and I don’t really have any friends up here. I’ve been incredibly lonely, the balcony attached to my 4th story bedroom has been a real problem with my OCD, Anxiety, and Depression all mixed into one. A week and a half ago, I had to take a 4am Uber to a friends house in Virginia. In short, life is rough. But, I’m considering getting a emotional support dog, particularly a pug named Kevin. I have to convince my family and my land lady for next school year, but I am convicted, because otherwise I’m going to go insane. That is all. Please resume your normal memeing
@Dex the Lumberjack, Hey good luck man, sometimes times are tough and that's okay, just keep your head up high and it will all get better, and make sure to give Kevin a belly rub for me when you get him.
@Dex the Lumberjack, hang in there, life is tough at times, but smooth seas never made a skilled sailor. Myself and Sam the French bulldog believe in you and Kev.
@Dex the Lumberjack, you’re stronger than you know you sexy son of a bitch you. Keep ‘huurrr goin’!
@Dex the Lumberjack, good luck out there buddy, I believe in you
@Dex the Lumberjack, no friends? Do you game online? I can do destiny 2 or star wars battlefront. Not the same but might help. Disclaimer: I have 2 kids so my gaming time isn't much.
@Dex the Lumberjack, Not familiar with DC laws, but check with your pet adoption agency to see if you can get your new dog registered as an emotional support animal. Landlords usually can't prohibit you from having an emotional support animal even if the lease says no pets.
@Dex the Lumberjack, hey I live near DC! Well actually I’m closer to Annapolis but still. That’s close. I like the DC cherry blossom festival. The Smithsonian is free and mind blowingly cool if you are ever board. I hope you can get the dog!
@Dex the Lumberjack, I’m in DC for work a lot so if you need any suggestions for things to do or just want someone to talk to, count me in
@Dex the Lumberjack, I live really close to DC too, right in Fairfax/Springfield. If you needed a buddy let me know!! My metro card is loaded with cashola I could be there in a flash (also I have a pug named Wilfred so we could get a puppy party going)
@Fairy Squad Mother, let's go MD/DC crew! I didn't know we had so many people around that area
@Dex the Lumberjack, you got this. we’re here for you. And the ADA has your back concerning your landlord and therapy animals
@Dex the Lumberjack, fellow human, I live in the DC area! Balconies suck d1ck
@Dex the Lumberjack, I’m here for you too man! And while I hate to do this, I have to play devils advocate. If you’re going to get an ESA, make sure you’re understanding of the ADA laws for yourself. Emotional support animals don’t have the same rights as service dogs do, but concerning your land lady, it’s federal law for them to not punish you or charge you for having one. Understand you can’t take ESAs into public either like regular service dogs. Do not register it on some stupid website, they are all a scam. Know the law, be confident with it, and you should have no troubles getting one and having him when you need him.
@Cow Chop, yeah, I know, I’m hoping things perk up soon. I’ll be sure to give him two
@dusty44, I appreciate that, tell Sam thanks!
@El Batman, lol, I sure hope so
@anal bayonet , I appreciate that
@Oujosh29, Recently I’ve actually spend most of my free time when I’m not at work playing Destiny 2 and Overwatch with some friends from back home in Atlanta. I play PSN, so if you’re ever online give me a holler. Username’s “Ivorybloodsh3d”
@Lethal, yeah, I’ve been looking into all of that. There are a lot of logistics that have to be worked out, but here’s to hoping
@Kyroll, I appreciate that, and god bless the ADA
@4th Hokage, I got to school in Virginia, so like half of the people I know are from around here, unfortunately barely anyone is in town these days and NoVA isn’t as close as it seems a lot of the time
@Fairy Squad Mother, I’ll definitely try to check them out! Thanks! And I hope so too
@SWAPPING WEAPONS, yeah, I appreciate that, I’ll definitely come around once I get more free time
@Katie Bonk, I actually know a few people from that area funnily enough. I’ll keep in touch and let you know if Kevin comes along. The more pigs the merrier
@Thecerealrapist, lol yeah, especially with like stage five OCD
@BeauTheServiceDog, thanks! I appreciate the info. I’ve been looking into a lot of that stuff today. Thankfully, I’m in a pre-law program, so it’s more or less digestible.
I just wanted to thank all of y’all collectively. I’ve been here for a while now, and it always amazes me how supportive this community is. I love y’all!
@Dex the Lumberjack, it gets better and you and Kevin will pull through. Sending love your way.
❤Myself and ESA Ratchet the Ferret
@Dex the Lumberjack, you name that pug Frank after the most famous pug or so help me god....
@Lethal, they can’t, it’s part of the Americans with disabilities act. An emotional support animal is not a guide dog, so any animal can be one with no training. That also means you don’t have a right to take them into businesses and such, because theyre not trained service animals. An ESA just means you cannot be denied or charged a premium for housing, and you can take them on planes for no extra charge. Hope this helps. You can certify online for around $100
@Dex the Lumberjack, hey brother/sister, I have a friend interning in DC as well and she absolutely loves pugs. If you’re lonely she would gladly hang out Kevin and you. On that note, walk Kevin around the parks, tons of people will want to pet him and that’s a great way to meet people/have some casual small talk
@Dex the Lumberjack, if you ever need a tank for Overwatch add me, Coozination. And it will get better man. I’m down in Tampa and all my friends had left after graduating college but playing coed softball has let me make new ones.
In DC it looks like you have “DC FRAY” and “Zog sports” with kickball, cornhole, dodgeball, soccer, tennis, yoga, ultimate frisbee, trivia teams, and more.
@your virginity, dogs are mans best friend for a reason
@shnickelfritz, no no no. Thanks for trying to help, but this is misinformation. Guide dogs are not the only actual “service dogs”. Any dog that performs tasks to help with a permanent disability can be a service dog. If it’s not trained to do tasks, but helps with anxiety and or other mental and emotional deficits, it’s an ESA. There is no certification for service dogs or ESAs, and any website claiming to “register” your dog is a scam.
@Dex the Lumberjack, did you get kevin?
How hard is it to jump off a boat, some people jee whiz
That's got to be the best pirate I've ever seen.
@MrLogg, so it would seem.
That was honestly a lot further of a fall than I anticipated. Still, 9/10 for keeping her form, more or less.
@SurgeonSean, is that like a play on the word Fail, but because they're on a boat?
@WelI Obviously, I think it’s a refference to a video of a cat jumping off a ledge to the song sail. Great video.
@WelI Obviously, why not both?
Women are so graceful
